Bug#323593: linux-source-2.6.12: 2.6.12 psmouse incorrectly recognizes Alps touchpad as Glidepoint
Package: linux-source-2.6.12 Version: 2.6.12-3 Severity: normal I used to use 2.6.11 here on my Dell Latitude D500 laptop and the psmouse driver (which presumably included the patch which comes with the xorg-driver-synaptics package) was recognizing the touchpad just well. I upgraded to 2.6.12, and now it recognizes it incorrectly as ALPS GlidePoint, the xorg-driver-synaptics thing doesn't detect the hardware because kernel support just isn't there. Also, it claims that it enabled hardware tapping, [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dmesg|grep -i alps alps.c: Enabling hardware tapping input: AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint on isa0060/serio1 but tapping doesn't work for me. Bug#309256: kernel-patch-suspend2: is filewriter disabled?
Package: kernel-patch-suspend2 Version: 2.1.8.2-7 Severity: important It seems to me that somehow crucial parts of filewriter plugin has been #ifdef 0'ed, and it looks like on purpose. I'd like to kindly ask, what was the reason behind that decision? You know, my physical memory is larger than my available swap, and it's a bit weird to resize my filesystems and repartition just to be able to suspend when more physical memory is in use :) I was just going to re-enable that again, but I thought I should ask before doing so.
