Bug#720463: ITP: jline2 -- console input handling library
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: "Eugenio Cano-Manuel Mendoza" * Package name: jline2 Version: 2.11 Upstream Author: The jline2 team and contributors * URL: http://jline.github.io/jline2/index.html * License: BSD-3-clause Programming Lang: Java Description : console input handling library JLine is a Java library for handling console input. It is similar in functionality to BSD editline and GNU readline. People familiar with the readline/editline capabilities for modern shells (such as bash and tcsh) will find most of the command editing features of JLine to be familiar. . Jline2 suppors the current features: . * Command history - Lines that have been previously entered may be recalled and edited and can be persisted so that they are available across sessions of your program. * Line editing - JLine allows full editing of the current command line and attempts to mimic as much of the behavior of GNU Readline as possible, including support for both emacs and vi key mappings. * Completion - JLine provides a pluggable mechanism for implementing command line tab completion (of course completion can be bound to any key you wish). * Custom Key bindings - Keys may be arbitrarily remapped to perform a specific action, and JLine attempts to honor any mapping that is set in your existing readline .inputrc file. * Character Masking - Input may be gathered from the user without any visual feedback. This is useful for prompting for passwords. * 99.99% Java - The vast portion of JLine is all Java, using only some small bit of native code, provided by the Jansi project, to support Windows. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: "Eugenio Cano-Manuel Mendoza" * Package name: libscout-clojure Version : 0.1.0 Upstream Author : David Santiago * URL : https://github.com/davidsantiago/scout * License : EPL-1.0 Programming Lang: Clojure, Java Description : A library for clojure to parse strings Scout can be used to process text without having to fully parse it, either because the text format made that difficult, or it would have been overkill for that particular task. For example, it is used for parsing the mustache templates in the Stencil library. The key object in Scout is a Scanner object, which is an immutable object associated with the string it is scanning and a position within that string. There are two ways to make a Scanner: either create a new one using the scanner function, or use a Scout function to create a new Scanner as the result of a search from a previous Scanner. If a Scanner is created as the result of a successful search, it will contain a third piece of data, an object with information about the parts of the string it matched and any regular expression groups that were assigned as part of the match. Since Scanners are immutable, you can easily start any number of searches from a given Scanner and refer back to Scanner objects from earlier in the parsing process. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#682616: Chromium keeps crashing with segfaults
Hi, Sorry I wasn't clear enough. -The first time I experienced the bug I had libexif 0.6.20-3 installed and it was reproducible. -After you asked me to downgrade I installed libexif 0.6.20-2, the bug was still reproducible. -I was later asked to try to get a trace from gdb, I have never been able to get a trace of the bug because chromium kept crashing at start-up, the traces that I've sent are from those crashes. -Emmanuel pointed out that his browser was also experiencing those crashes at start-up with --single-process enabled. -I disabled all the plugins and executed chromium with and without --single-process, I haven't been able to reproduce it since then. The only way to make it crash is using gdb and --single-process (but it crashes at start-up which makes me think is something unrelated to this bug). I think the segfaults were something related to a plugin since I haven't been able to reproduce it since I disabled them. Bug#682616: Chromium keeps crashing with segfaults
I don't think libexif is the problem since this crashed occured with version 0.6.20-2 of the package... BTW I disabled all plugins and I cannot reproduce it anymore, must have been a plugin then. Bug#682616: Chromium keeps crashing with segfaults
With all plugins disabled I still get a segfault at startup, but maybe this is not related to the first one anyways. I'm attaching the trace. I don't know what happened.. It didn't even open the browser before the segmentation fault occurred. I'm attaching the gdb trace (bt full as you requested) Thanks, Eugenio On Fri, Jul 27, 2012 at 4:18 PM, Emmanuel Bouthenot wrote: > On Fri, Jul 27, 2012 at 04:08:36PM +0800, Eugenio Cano-Manuel Mendoza > wrote: > [...] > > > I moved the files as you told me, segfault persists, just no messages > now: > > > > strace -e open chromium-browser 2>&1 | grep icon-theme.cache | grep -v > > ENOENT > > zsh: segmentation fault strace -e open chromium-browser 2>&1 | > > zsh: donegrep icon-theme.cache | > > zsh: exit 1 grep -v ENOENT > > Maybe it could be easier to debug it through gdb: > > Could you install chromium-browser-dbg (sorry it's a ~500MB package) > then run : > > $ chromium-browser -g > # you will get a gdb prompt after one or two dozen of seconds > $ gdb> run --single-process > # It should segfault > $ gdb> bt full > > Could you us send the result of 'bt full' ? > > Thanks, > > Regards, > > M. > > -- > Emmanuel Bouthenot > mail: kolter@{openics,debian}.orggpg: 4096R/0x929D42C3 > xmpp: kol...@im.openics.org irc: kolter@{freenode,oftc} > > trace Description: Binary data

Bug#682616: Chromium keeps crashing with segfaults
Hi, chromium-browser did not start with the -f option for some reason... however I managed to reproduce the segfault and this is the trace: strace -e open chromium-browser 2>&1 | grep icon-theme.cache | grep -v ENOENT open("/usr/share/icons/gnome/icon-theme.cache", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 68 open("/usr/share/icons/gnome/icon-theme.cache", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 69 open("/usr/share/icons/hicolor/icon-theme.cache", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 68 open("/usr/share/icons/hicolor/icon-theme.cache", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = 69 zsh: segmentation fault strace -e open chromium-browser 2>&1 | zsh: donegrep icon-theme.cache | grep -v ENOENT I have to mention that I ran this using libexif 0.6.20-3, I'll try with 0.6.20-2 soon. Package: chromium-browser Version: 20.0.1132.57~r145807-1 Followup-For: Bug #682616 Dear Maintainer, I am also having this problem, It started to occur a couple of days ago. In order to reproduce the problem I use the omnibar to search and then open a new tab and search again and again, it appears that using the omnibar frequently makes chromium crash. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages chromium-browser depends on: ii chromium 20.0.1132.57~r145807-1 chromium-browser recommends no packages. chromium-browser suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
