Bug#620162: emacs23: Diary entries does not work with ISO date format
This bug can be closed. Emacs people wrote me about the problem of my emacs settings file. The only relevant setting in your attached .emacs is one for calendar-date-display-form. This just affects how dates are *displayed*, nothing else. There are other things you need to set, notably diary-date-forms. But don't bother setting either of those by hand, just customize calendar-date-style to `iso' instead. That will set all the necessary variables. Bug#620162: emacs23: Diary entries does not work with ISO date format
Package: emacs23 Version: 23.2+1-7 Severity: normal I have configured my .emacs file to use ISO dates format, but when I check for diary entries (throw 'd' option of calendar) I get No diary entries for date. I attach my .emacs file and a sample diary file. Inserting new entries in the diary file to the calendar ('i d' option) writes the data in the correct format, so I guess that must be a problem in the diary interpretation by the calendar. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers squeeze-updates APT policy: (500, 'squeeze-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=gl_ES.utf8, LC_CTYPE=gl_ES.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages emacs23 depends on: ii emacs23-bin-common 23.2+1-7 The GNU Emacs editor's shared, arc ii libasound2 1.0.23-2.1shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libatk1.0-01.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-6 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-31.2.24-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.4.2-2.1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgconf2-42.28.1-6 GNOME configuration database syste ii libgif44.1.6-9 library for GIF images (library) ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgpm21.20.4-3.3General Purpose Mouse - shared lib ii libgtk2.0-02.20.1-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice62:1.0.6-2 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b1-1 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libm17n-0 1.6.1-1 a multilingual text processing lib ii libncurses55.7+20100313-5shared libraries for terminal hand ii libotf00.9.11-1 A Library for handling OpenType Fo ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.3-1+squeeze2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-0 1.2.44-1 PNG library - runtime ii librsvg2-2 2.26.3-1 SAX-based renderer library for SVG ii libsm6 2:1.1.1-1 X11 Session Management library ii libtiff4 3.9.4-5 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-4 X11 client-side library ii libxft22.1.14-2 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxpm41:3.5.8-1 X11 pixmap library ii libxrender11:0.9.6-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime emacs23 recommends no packages.
