Did it get moved to some other .deb I can't ID? I don't think Crocus is supposed to work on Gen3. At least, export MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=crocus in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/10-crocus.sh doesn't help. Where is the "Gallium i915" driver? In openSUSE Tumbleweed in 22.2.4 i915 is still included in its Mesa-dri package, and Mesa DRI Intel 945G is working as expected. <https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/intel-gfx/2022-December/313916.html> Debian packaging apparently just decided not to include i915g in the transition? Bug#1022806: linux-image-5.10.0-19-amd64: amggpu unbootable problem persists
Oland [Radeon HD 8570 / R5 430 OEM R7 240/340 Radeon 520 OEM] vendor: Dell driver: radeon v: kernel arch: GCN-1 pcie: speed: 2.5 GT/s lanes: 8 ports: active: DP-1,DVI-I-1 empty: none bus-ID: 01:00.0 chip-ID: 1002:6611 Same failure as in my previous comment #45 about GCN2. In Bullseye in both PCs, workaround is to omit 'plymouth.enable=0 radeon.si_support=1' from linu line in Grub, which absent installation of radeon DDX, forces use of modesetting DIX instead of amdgpu DDX, which was working just fine until linux-image-5.10.0-19-amd64 was installed. The resulting change in display output names requires the xrandr script locating all the displays to be rewritten. On this one I've not as yet attempted installation of backport kernel. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. Bug#927262: dracut: reboot delayed 2 minutes for stop job running for user manager for UID 0 after new kernel installation
Package: dracut Version: update-initramfs Severity: normal This has happened on multiple x86 installations, both 32 bit and 64 bit. It only happens on first shutdown after new a kernel installation. Searching internet finds similar complaints, but no solutions, or existing bug reports that specify UID 0, or 120 seconds instead of 90 seconds of delay, and they are all stale, e.g. 2 years old. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages dracut depends on: pn dracut-core dracut recommends no packages. Bug#859423: Bug #859423 xserver-xorg-video-mga: system jams starting xserver - Matrox G550 AGP w. mga
I encouraged the reporter to file this bug before I found on my own Matrox 550 Stretch installation exhibiting same lockups but accessible via remote login that blacklisting mga kernel module and rebuilding initrd stopped the lockups. The same machine booted to Mageia 5 kernel 4.4 never had, and openSUSE kernel 4.9 ceased to have[1], this problem, and neither tried to load any mga kernel module as Stretch was doing. Broken mailing list thread originated by this bug's reporter: https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2017/04/msg00031.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2017/03/msg01272.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2017/03/msg01283.html [1] https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1004453
Bug#858808: please include mc-4.8.19 in Stretch release (4.8.18 is broken)
In a new installation with no previously saved settings rather than an upgrade, upstream bug 3758 is not apparent. However, after update from <4.8.18 to 4.8.18, the "default configuration" is to use the previously saved settings, which is why bug 3758 "fubar long file listing in right pane" manifests. That valid saved setting is improperly applied *every* time mc is started, not just on a first use. That's a lot of bad starts for a distro release destined for 5 years of support.

Bug#858808: please include mc-4.8.19 in Stretch release (4.8.18 is broken)
Package: mc Version: 4.8.18 Maintainer: onlyjob at debian dot org Problem reported upstream at http://www.midnight-commander.org/ticket/3758 (among others) is solved in 4.8.19. Optionally, backport the fix to 4.8.18, or include 4.8.17 instead of 4.8.18. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Bug#758460: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: [GeForce 6150 LE] complete system freeze as soon as GDM launches on kernel (>= 3.14)
I installed Stretch with TDM/TDE 14.0.4 Monday night on 00:0d.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation C61 [GeForce 6150SE nForce 430] (rev a2) without installing xserver-xorg-video-nouveau. Modesetting driver integral to X server is used. Neither nouveau.config=NvMSI=0 nor nouveau.noaccel=1 are required to avoid Xorg corruption (except for the UI in mozilla.org's Firefox 49.0 built with GTK3). No video sloth is apparent. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Proverbs 16:21 (New Living Translation) Team OS/2 ** Reg. Bug#773480: lxde startup error dialog box
I have this problem after freshly installing Stretch minimal (tasks=standard, base-installer/install-recommends=false), aptitude installing task-lxde-desktop, and starting X via startx. I tried replacing lightdm with lxdm, but it didn't change the behavior. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
