Bug#280662: After update, Evolution always crashes at startup if ~/.evolution present
Package: evolution Version: 2.2.2-4 Followup-For: Bug #280662 I have a very similar problem to the one reported above. I have updated my debian installation (and evolution was not among the update packages) yesterday, and since this evolution always crashes at startup if ~/.evolution is present. If ~/.evolution is *not* present, evolution starts up correctly, but crashes on exit, or in the middle of the excution if the GUI is exercised a bit too much (repeatedly switching between the mail and calendar view for instance). It also sets up a new ~/.evolution, and if launched again will crash at start up. I've use gdb to get an idea of where the crash happens. It apparently always is a segmentation fault in the same function of libgal. (But since it's a seg fault, the problem might not be in libgal at all if I'm not mistaken.) --- Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. Bug#303029: galeon: user bookmarks lost during last upgrade
Package: galeon Severity: serious Justification: Policy 10.7.3 After the last update my galeon bookmarks have been reset to the default ones. I've had a look at ~/.galeon, and my bookmarks can still be found in files with a name like bookmarks.xbel.x, where x is some number (2,3,4 typically, but strangely this seems to change). bookmarks.xbel, bookmarks.xbel.0 and bookmarks.xbel.1 don't contain my bookmarks however. I obtain this information by doing a grep on the files with a string I know should be in my bookmarks: $ grep -lri funding * bookmarks.xbel.3 bookmarks.xbel.4 mozilla/galeon/Cache/CE44DCD5d01 mozilla/galeon/Cache/C97E317Dd01 grep: mozilla/galeon/lock: No such file or directory Francois -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10.guidog-patch2 Locale: LANG=e:en_GB.ISO-8859-15, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.ISO-8859-15 (charmap=ISO-8859-15) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#303030: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/available' after update
Package: dpkg Severity: normal After my last update dpkg -l does not work any more. Here is what I get: $ dpkg -l galeon dpkg-query: parse error, in file `/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 1: field name `bgucharmap4,' must be followed by colon I did not modify /var/lib/dpkg/available, so I guess one of the programs accessing this file (synaptic?) must have corrupted it. Bug#290888: gnome-cups-manager: Can not set the name of a network printer.
Package: gnome-cups-manager Version: 0.25-2 Severity: normal After adding a new network printer (using the HP JetDirect protocol) with gnome-cups-manager, I'm not able to change the name if the printer. Here are the detailed steps of what I do (as root): 1 - I select add a new printer from the menu 2 - I select Network Printer and HP JetDirect protocol 3 - I enter the IP address of the printer. I leave the port to 9100. 4 - I select the HP LaserJet 4100 driver 5 - I click the apply button 6 - A new window shows up. The default name is LaserJet-4100. I change it. 7 - I click the close button. 8 - The new printer shows up in the gnome-cups-manager, but not with the name I gave it, but with the default one (LaserJet-4100). 9 - If I try to modify the name using the properties contextual menu, I get the same results. No visible change. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10.guidog-patch2 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages gnome-cups-manager depends on: ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-6Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-0 1.8.0-4 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libbonobo2-0 2.8.0-4 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.8.0-2 The Bonobo UI library ii libc62.3.2.ds1-20GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libcupsys2-gnutls10 1.1.22-8Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libgconf2-4 2.8.1-4 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglade2-0 1:2.4.1-1 Library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.4.8-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-keyring00.4.0-2 GNOME keyring services library ii libgnome2-0 2.8.0-6 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-02.8.0-1 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomecups1.0-10.1.13-1GNOME library for CUPS interaction ii libgnomecupsui1.0-1 0.25-2 UI extensions to libgnomecups ii libgnomeui-0 2.8.0-3 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.8.3-7 The GNOME virtual file-system libr ii libgtk2.0-0 2.4.14-2The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 Inter-Client Exchange library ii liborbit21:2.10.2-1.1libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpango1.0-01.6.0-3 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpopt0 1.7-5 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System Session Management ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Window System protocol client li ii libxml2 2.6.11-5GNOME XML library ii xlibs4.3.0.dfsg.1-10 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-3 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
