Bug#612024: gfs2-tools: File corruption when copying large files to gfs filesystem

Hi,

can you try to reproduce this on a newer kernel than 2.6.32?

I suggest using the latest linux-2.6 package from backports.debian.org.

I was not aware there was such a thing like a sparc64 port... did you just

I guess I don't need to crosscheck the functionality on a porter machine (do

the last upload.

2008-12-23 Thread Frederik Schüler

Retitle 397675 please do not check automatically ocfs2 filesystems

Hi!

Automatic filesystem check of a _cluster_ filesystem during bootup of a node
is a pretty dumb idea, if the filesystem is already active on other nodes,
guess what happens.

ocfs2 filesystems (and gfs, gfs2 ones too) _must_ be fscked when _not mounted_
on _any_ node. This cannot be ensured by a node booting up.

Manual fscking of these filesystems is mandatory.

Reassigned back.

Bug#506099: iscsitarget: fails to configure without module

2008-12-03 Thread Frederik Schüler
Hi,

IMHO we should just add back the dependency on iscsitarget-module, which is in
lenny thanks to the linux-modules-extra-2.6 package, as the module is
out-of-tree anyway, and must be built from iscsitarget-source for non-debian
packages in order for this package to be of any use at all.

Adding a construct via /etc/default/iscsitarget with ENABLE=no is an option,
but it does only workaround the Debian-specific nuisance of starting every
service by default.

So if no one objects, I will turn the

Recommends: iscsitarget-module

into a Depends: and be done with it.

Best regards
Frederik Schüler

PS: the Recommends is still from before iscsitarget-module was included into
l-m-e-2.6.

Bug#501151: Preparing packaging for ocfs2-tools 1.4.1-1

2008-11-21 Thread Frederik Schüler
Hi!

I already ha d deep look at the current packaging included in upstream git,
basically the initscripts need to be rewritten as they are full of
redhadisms, but thats'it basically.

I think the debconf templates and the corresponding configuration parts in the
maintainer scripts should be removed for Lenny, because I doubt we would get
this into testing in time, lacking all translations. It's broken anyway, and
I currently have no time to fix that due to RL work overload.

To your question, Alioth seems fine to me, but why not use oracle git, and
make it a native package?

Bug#504748: initscripts: mountall.sh must not mount ocfs2, gfs and gfs2

2008-11-06 Thread Frederik Schüler

Package: sysvinit
Version: 2.86.ds1-61
Severity: important

Hi!

/etc/init.d/mountall.sh must NOT mount gfs, ocfs2 and gfs2 filesystems,
because these need a configured cluster environment with quorum before they
can be mounted at all.

gfs and gfs2 have proper initscripts doing a mount -a -t gfs and mount -a -t
gfs2 respectively, after the cluster was started, ocfs2 will too after I
updated the package.

This change should really go into Lenny, otherwise users need to edit the
initscript on every cluster node, which is really inconvenient.

I already started working on it, adding iSER support, and trying to find an
FCoE initiator to get that target packaged too, but have little time
currently. Additionally, I don't think a completely new release will make it
into Lenny anymore, thus I am focussing on the release stuff.

This package may find it's way to Lenny via backports.org though, when the new
targets are packaged after release.

If you want to do any work on it, the Debian dir is in kernel-team svn on
alioth, patches are of course welcome :)

Bug#501151: ocfs2-tools: completely outdated, better not release with this version

2008-10-04 Thread Frederik Schüler
Package: ocfs2-tools
Version: 1.2.4-1.2
Severity: Serious

Hi!

This package version is COMPLETELY outdated. Current stable upstream is
version 1.4.1(!).

I pinged the maintainer and offered him my help a couple of times within the
last 6 months, without any reaction.

This old version does not support most of the current ocfs2 features in
linux-2.6.26.

I am currently preparing an NMU based on the latest upstream version, and am
planning to take over this package completely, if the maintainer does not
react within the next weeks.

Running several OCFS2 installations, I think we should better release without
ocfs2-tools at all, if the new version will not be allowed to migrate to
Lenny in time. I will prepare a backport then, after the release.

2008-09-17 Thread Frederik Schüler
Package: xen-tools
Version: 3.9-3
Severity: grave

Hi!

the Xen packages in Lenny require serial_device to be set to xvc0 instead of
tty1, and disk_device to xvda instead of sda. Read, the defaults you have set
in the package do not reflect the defaults of our xen packages, requiring the
user to change this every time on new install when upgrading from
etch/backports.

The change is minimal (just switch defaults in xen-tools.conf) and it should
really, really go into Lenny, in order for xen-tools to work out of the box.

Bug#372548: grub2_1.94-2(amd64/unstable): FTBFS (amd64): wrong build dependency

Package: grub2
Version: 1.94-2

There was an error while trying to autobuild your package:

> ** Using build dependencies supplied by package:

> dpkg-dev (>= 1.13.12), libc6-i386-dev [amd64]

the package libc6-i386-dev exists only in testing and was replaced by
libc6-dev-i386.
Thus, grub2 needs to build-depend on libc6-dev-i386.

Bug#370816: libsimplelist0-dev: dangling symlink /usr/lib/libsimplelist.so due to missing dependency on libsimplelist0

2006-06-06 Thread Frederik Schüler
Package: libsimplelist0-dev

Severity: serious

Hello,

libsimplelist0-dev does not depend on libsimplelist0, but contains a
dangling symlink /usr/lib/libsimplelist.so -> libsimplelist.so.0.1.0

this causes other packages build-depending on it to FTBFS, for example
ggtl:

> /bin/sh ./libtool --tag=CC --mode=link cc -W -Wall -Werror -o libggtl.la
> -rpath /usr/lib -no-undefined -version-info 2:0:0 ggtl.lo ggtlai.lo
> -lsimplelist
> cc -shared .libs/ggtl.o .libs/ggtlai.o /usr/lib/libsimplelist.so
> -Wl,-soname -Wl,libggtl.so.2 -o .libs/libggtl.so.2.0.0

> make[1]: *** [libggtl.la] Error 1
> make[1]: Leaving directory `/build/buildd/ggtl-2.1.3'
> make: *** [debian/stamp-makefile-build] Error 2

A full build log can be found at:
http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?arch=amd64&pkg=ggtl&ver=2.1.3-1

please fix the dependency accordingly.

libc6-dev-i386?
