Bug#707479: iso-scan: Indicate .iso files must be _Debian_ files

2013-05-09 Thread George Chriss
Package: iso-scan
Version: 1.43

Under advanced install, Main Menu, there's a menu option to scan hard
drives for an installer ISO image after downloading and installing
iso-scan (an optional component). However, there is no indication in any
of the prompts that the ISO files must be Debian installation media -- the
name suggests that any install ISO may be used.

In the Debian-installer log:

May 9 08:27:09 iso-scan: Found ISO ./trisquel_6.0_amd64.iso on /dev/sda1
May 9 08:27:09 iso-scan: Debian ISO not usable, skipping

Trisquel does not appear to have PXE netboot support, thus I'm here trying
to find a way into the Trisquel installer and stumbled into the above.

Sincerely,
George

Bug#622971: Ath9K wireless quite unreliable since upgrade to 2.6.38

2011-10-23 Thread George Chriss
Confirming on the following system:

X201i, Modified BIOS, taped pin 20, WWLAN mini PCI slot (the spare one)
03:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5008 Wireless
Network Adapter (rev 01) [Lenovo-branded]

Linux 3.0.0-2-amd64 / Updated Debian Sid

Happens every few hours with a non-predictable cause while connected to a
G-only, WEP, Tomato ver. 1.28 Linksys WRT54GL router. The 'iommu=soft' boot
parameter doesn't help. Works perfectly otherwise and rmmod/modprobe
usually solves things.

Bug#589670: brasero can't create image from dvd

2011-05-24 Thread George Chriss
Confirming Message #27 as a fix on Debian Squeeze amd64, Brasero
2.30.3, cdrdao_1.2.3-0.1_amd64. Brasero dependencies should be
corrected, or at least meaningful error messages should be used.

Bug#618538: ia32-libs-gtk: Attempts to load x86_64 modules when i686 is needed

2011-03-16 Thread George Chriss
Package: ia32-libs-gtk
Version: 20110117
Severity: important

When starting Firefox 4 RC1 on this system, I receive the following error
messages:

===
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module canberra-gtk-module:
/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libcanberra-gtk-module.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module gail: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libgail.so:

/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libclearlooks.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS6
[Repeats for a bunch of additional modules and shared libraries.]
===

Firefox runs but with a stripped-down UI and possibly other missing
functionality.
Same behavior on Skype's 32-bit client.

Is this a simple directory linking problem? Possibly related to Bug #582809?

Me too. Resets at random times, works fine otherwise.
