Bug#415780: octave2.1: Please upgrade gnuplot dependency from suggests: to recommends:

2007-03-22 Thread Geraint Paul Bevan

I am only lurking and don't have a particularly strong opinion about
this, but "recommends" seems to make more sense to me.

Even running a batch job from a terminal it is still usually desirable
for the plot function to work correctly. For example, the following
should create a file "sin.ps" whether or not it is executed from a
graphics-capable terminal:

echo "t=[0:0.1:10]'; x=sin(t); plot(t,x); print -depsc2 \"sin.ps\""\

Bug#315942: coreutils: unhelpful true, untrue help

2005-06-27 Thread Geraint Paul Bevan
Package: coreutils
Version: 5.2.1-2
Severity: minor

*** Please type your report below this line ***

The man page for "true" indicates that 'true --help' will display
helpful information but this is not true. The --version option also
fails to display anything.

Bug#312697: openoffice.org: "External Data" dialog in oocalc does not respond to entered URLs.

2005-06-09 Thread Geraint Paul Bevan
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.3-9
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***

The "OK" button in the "External Data" dialogue box of Calc is greyed
out and remains so even after a filename or URL is entered. After
entering a URL and pressing return, nothing happens. However, if a
filename or URL is instead entered into the file selection dialogue
(after pressing the [...] button), everything works as expected and a
list of import filters is presented.

Bug#289763: Acknowledgement (rsjog fails with no such device /dev/sonypi)

2005-01-10 Thread Geraint Paul Bevan
OK, I have found the problem.
Reading through the documentation for the similar 'sjog' package, I
noticed that it advised creating the sonypi device with the command:

mknod /dev/sonypi c 10 63
I had created it with minor number 250 (as suggested in the kernel
documentation "sonypi.txt"):

mknod /dev/sonypi c 10 250
Deleting this device and replacing it with the 63 version, both sjog and
rsjog work correctly.

Bug#289763: rsjog fails with no such device /dev/sonypi

2005-01-10 Thread Geraint Paul Bevan
Package: rsjog
Version: 1.1-4
Severity: important
I have just installed rsjog, but it fails with the following error:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rsjog

The device does exist and the module is compiled into the kernel:

The machine is a Sony Vaio PCG-GR370. If it is of any use in debugging
the problem, my kernel .config can be found at:
