It's good to know that's happening. I should have tracked _hours_ in
trivial activities. At least there's no boss looking the hamster
reporting and noticing that I've spent 6 hours reading news feeds :P.

No, it's OK. Just upload your packaging effort to a VCS system, it's
better in the long term. It could be {git,svn,hg,bzr}.debian.org.

I think you should join the Debian-Python packaging team[0]. they
already have a Subversion repository for all the python modules in
Debian. I'm already in the team, so I could take a look at the package
from the SVN repo. Send an email to the list and ask for membership.

Thanks for your work.

Heh, That sounds like a good consolation prize ;)

Well, there are some outstanding issues with the rt3.8 package:

* Rt3.8 depends HTML::RewriteAttributes = 0.02 (not-in-debian), but
apparently it works without it right now.

* There's no manpage for:
  - usr/sbin/rt-clean-sessions
  - usr/sbin/rt-email-dashboards
  - usr/sbin/rt-email-digest
  - usr/sbin/rt-email-group-admin
  - usr/sbin/rt-shredder

* Right now the only functional backend is the Pgsql one(which I'm
currently using). I'm not applying the 02_acls patch, which is not
documented, because I'm not sure how to proceed with this one,
rt3.8-db-postgresql works without it. Help would be appreciated :)

rt3.8-3.8.1 is out too, I'll look at it this weekend and put it on shape.

Thanks Rhonda.

Hello,

I'm currently working on a package for RT3.8, I don't think it will
make Lenny(and I don't intent to do it), but at least I could spot some
bugs in the way to make the package.

Has someone made some progress in the rt3.8 packaging? I don't want to
do duplicated work.

I'll soon post a link to the repo where I'm currently publishing the
packaging work.

Thanks

Attached you will find a diff for bug-buddy.

The libelfg0-dev version in sid relocates the needed headers
from /usr/include/ to /usr/include/libelf/ (and libelf-dev is not an
option), so I've changed the paths in the configure script, configure.in
and the #include directives of gnome-breakpad.cc.

Will you need someone else to make an NMU upload?

That must do the trick :)

Bug#389068: Jabref patch

2008-04-19 Thread Gerardo Curiel
tags 389068 patch
thanks

Attached you'll find a patch to build the package and running jabref
using the current Debian libraries. The patch is the 'interdiff' output
between my changes and the current diff.gz of the package.

Here's an overview of the patch:

* 05build_with_debian_jars: use the java libraries from /usr/share/java,
and disable the 'unjarlib' target dependency from the 'jars' target.
Instead of include the whole set of classes in the same jar, Jabref now
use the libraries in the classpath to compile and run(see
jabref-wrapper).

Additionaly, I've commented the 'jarbundler' target, It's a
macosx-specific target, and uses the lib/jarbundler-1.4.jar(not in
debian and useless), which makes ant unhappy if not present.

So you can repackage the upstream tarball and remove those jarfiles and
make it DFSG-Free.

* Moved jabref script to debian/ , renamed jabref-wrapper(as you already
did in the trunk version) and add the needed jars to the Classpath.

* Added new Dependencies and Build-Dependencies to debian/control.
Jabref still depends on both antlr and antlr3, and it just works using
libjempbox-java (= 0.2.0)

* 06proposed_upstream_fix_ruleNestingLevel: Upstream still uses antlr3
beta, the debian version is the stable one, this patch allows using the
debian version. I've not tested extensively, but it works for me :).

The patch is not proposed-upstream still, in despite of his name.

You can drop 02_libs.dpatch, the changes to the build.xml are covered
now in the 05build_with_debian_jars (with the additional changes in the
'jars' target), and the changes to EntryEditorTab.java are already
applied upstream.

Bug#466006: Fixed

2008-04-03 Thread Gerardo Curiel
tags 466006 pending
thanks

With the 1.0 version of Mercurial, when you use meld for merging(with hg
merge), the files have meaningful names.

From the meld help, in the 'File comparison' section:

For two way comparisons the original is shown in the left pane and
the modified version in the right pane by convention.

For three way comparisons, the original is shown in the centre
pane and the left and right panes show the modified versions. By
convention we put the locally modified file in the right pane.

In the case of the 3-way comparison, The file name in the center pane is
in the format $FILE~base.$HASH, $FILE for the left pane (your version)
and $FILE~other.$HASH for the right pane(the file you want to merge).

Bug#415056: mercurial: Install examples systemwide

2008-04-02 Thread Gerardo Curiel
The scripts provided in the contrib/ directory aren't official part of
mercurial. Some are useful, but others have some problems or are
worthless to be added.

About the examples:

/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/vim/:

I agree with having the vim files installed system-wide by default. I'll
work on it.

/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/hgweb.cgi
/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/hgwebdir.cgi
/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/hgwebdir.fcgi:

I think the web stuff must be keep in the examples dir, not everybody
uses it, or at least, not in every host(I have it enabled in a server,
but not in my desktop or laptop).

/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/git-viz/:

Git-viz use the now deprecated hgit command, and add additional
dependencies, so it's worthless to add it.

/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/rewrite-log
/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/hgdiff:

Completely undocumented scripts.

/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/zsh_completion.gz
/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/tcsh_completion:

Debian's default shell is bash, so those completion files are useless in
a default system.

/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/hgeditor:

Can't be installed in /usr/bin, this script lets you adjust the default
editor and settings when committing, using the the HGEDITOR environment
variable. So, it's intended to be customized.

/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/hg-relink
/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/hg-ssh
/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/hgsh/
/usr/share/doc/mercurial/examples/simplemerge:

I can't say much about those scripts(hgsh is a C program):

* They are Poorly documented
* They have just a reduced set of features, Read the comments(if any)
for more info.
* Just cover a reduced set of cases, IHMO.

And the darcs2hg and convert-repo script are deprecated, it's encouraged
to use 'hg convert' now.

I'll finish the new package form mercurial 1.0, and work in the vim
addons for the next revision.

Do you agree about just use the vim stuffs system-wide?

Bug#450645: Tagging wontfix

2008-04-02 Thread Gerardo Curiel
tags 450645 wontfix
thanks

From the Mercurial book[0]:

The changelog style hints at the expressive power of Mercurial’s
templating engine. This style attempts to follow the GNU Project’s
changelog guidelines

You can find the reference about the changelog format in the GNU Coding
standars manual[1].

The changelog style is intended to be an automatic way for developers to
create changelogs, based on the repo history. So, the branch data is
totally irrelevant in this case.

If you want to use your custom format, just make your own style
template[2].

Hi Maintainer, while looking at your package in NEW I discovered that it islinking against openssl, itself beeing GPL licensed.Sorry, but this doesnt work, the OpenSSL license and the GPL areincompatible. For more information, and a link to give to your
upstream please visithttp://www.openssl.org/support/faq.html#LEGAL2 or/andhttp://www.gnome.org/~markmc/openssl-and-the-gpl.html
After this is fixed feel free to upload your package again.Additionally - this looks perfectly like it should be builtout of xchat itself, as another .deb. :)--bye Joerg

Yep, that's is my package.

And now that i agreed to Marco to take the ITP, do you have discussed
(Marco)about this issue on debian-gtk or #gnome-debian at GimpNet?

I say it because i want xchat-gnome on debian, and if you have an
sponsor ,maybe he can help you solving this.

About the name ,that's not the real problem.

The Java-Gnome project provides a framework for creating Gtk and Gnome

create true gnome applications, which work just like any other desktop
application. Most other Java UI toolkits such as SWT or swing provide at most
compatibility layers so that your app will look like gnome appliactions. You
should use java-gnome if you want to use standard gtk and gnome features such
as stock icons, and file chooser buttons; or if you want to use additional
