Bug#709324: fail2ban: Dovecot has changed the log words, fail2ban regex fails

2013-05-22 Thread J L Kolpin
Package: fail2ban
Version: 0.8.6-3wheezy1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

The regex for Dovecot fails because the wording in the log line has changed.

Current log line:

dovecot: pop3-login: Aborted login (tried to use disallowed plaintext auth):
user=, rip=x.x.x.x, lip=x.x.x.x, session=blahblahblahblah

Before (in Squeeze), dovecot would say:

dovecot: pop3-login: Aborted login (tried to use disabled plaintext auth):
rip=x.x.x.x, lip=x.x.x.x

The regex in Wheezy as well as unstable are both faulty

failregex = .*(?:pop3-login|imap-login):.*(?:Authentication failure|Aborted
login \(auth failed|Aborted login \(tried to use disabled|Disconnected
\(auth failed).*\s+rip=(?Phost\S*),.*

I am not sure if the word disabled is still used in other logging contect
from the daemon so I wasn't sure if disabled could simply be replaced with
disallowed or if extra regex was required to manage both.

Thanks for all you do!

After reading and searching I attempted to stop the polling on this device
using

hal-disable-polling --device

The device is a tape drive in a Dell Poweredge, there is no CD/DVD drive in
the machine FYI

When I initially gave the command, the polling on the device continued. I
attempted to restart hal and it did not stop. I stopped hal and noticed
two instances hal-addon-store were still running. After several failed
attempts

Bug#384460: IAX Clients Crashing (portaudio?)

2007-02-11 Thread J L Kolpin
Apologies if this isn't in the format required I am still trying to
figure the BTS out. This is not an iaxcomm only bug.. It seems anything
using iax is broken as this also happened to me with kiax. Something
with portaudio maybe?...

I am also using testing completely up to date

I think I did this right. Downloaded deb source into a directory, gave
