Bug#655966: wicd-gtk: wicd-client needs option -t, to start also in tray - undocumented behavior in manpage
Package: wicd-gtk Version: 1.7.0+ds1-9 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Since a few month, wicd-client starts with the GUI and an Icon in the tray (stalonetray on this machine), when i start wicd-client from a shell (or startupskript in fvwm). When i close the GUI, also the icon in the tray disappears, and the process wicd-client ends. In the changelog.Debian.gz i found, that there is a new option -t, which starts wicd-client only in the tray. When i start wicd-client with this option, the old behaviour is here again. But there is no documentation in the man-page. Please can you put the new option in the manpage, and document the new behaviour? greetings jakob -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages wicd-gtk depends on: ii python 2.7.2-9 ii python-glade2 2.24.0-2 ii python-gtk22.24.0-2 ii wicd-daemon1.7.0+ds1-9 Versions of packages wicd-gtk recommends: ii gksu 2.0.2-6 ii python-notify 0.1.1-3 ii sudo 1.8.3p1-2 wicd-gtk suggests no packages. Bug#654889: desktop-file-utils: update-desktop-database corrupts mimeinfo.cache
Package: desktop-file-utils Version: 0.18-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I´m NOT using gnome, i´m a FVWM-User, and there is the Problem, when i try to Open a PDF-file in Iceweasel or nautilus, this Programs always start gv instead of evince, xpdf or acroread. update-desktop-database puts /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache alwas gv.desktop at first in the line application/pdf. I found out, that there is also a file defaults.list in this directory, which should handle personal preferences to default-programms. But this file is ignored. So i found a this line * Remove defaults.list stuff, it’s all in gnome-session now. in the changelog.Debian.gz from desktop-file-utils... So i can´t set defaults for every user on my machine. I can only set a default-application in ~/.local/share/applications/default.list for every user... And this isn´t documentated... It took me a very long time, to find that out. Remember, not everyone is using gnome, so it would be fine, if there is a possibility to find the information in the man-page, or better, put in again this stuff into update-desktop-file-utils. regards Jakob -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages desktop-file-utils depends on: ii libc6 2.13-24 ii libglib2.0-0 2.30.2-4 desktop-file-utils recommends no packages. desktop-file-utils suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#628885: News: Folderpane ignores new Messages
Package: icedove Version: 3.0.11-1+squeeze2 Severity: normal It is a Problem, wich i have in Icedove since many versions and years. I have the same Problem with Thunderbird and on Windows... The Problem is only in the Newsgroup-Section in the Folderpane. Mail and RSS are working correct. When a new Message in a newsgroup arrives, there should be a signalisation in the newsgroup. Another icon, another fontcolor or something similar. I repeate, this works with mails and RSS-feeds. With newsgroups it workes only a short time, then there is only the signalisation of read/unread messages. I tried this on my old profile, i tried this on my new profile, i tried this on linux, i tried it on windows, i tried it with iceweasel and thunderbird... after a while or some restarts of the mailclient, it forgets to show new messages in newsgroups. My newsserver is localhost. I have a local leafnode for a few different news-accounts on different news-servers. With CSS-Selector from the add-on Mail-Tweak i can see the propertys of the Elements. So i have the situation, that there is in a newsgroup a new Message with the propertys Type: treechildren::-moz-tree-cell-text Properties: (unread) (new) (news) (news) The folderpane for this newsgroup has: Type: treechildren::-moz-tree-cell Properties: (folderNameCol) (hasUnreadMessages-true) (serverType-nntp) (specialFolder-none) (biffState-NoMail) (isSecure-false) (noSelect-false) (imapShared-false) (account-news.localhost) (name-at.test) You can see, (newMessages-true) is missing, but there is on the same time a new message with the propertie (new) in this newsgroup. So i tried a new profile. It works a few times, then the habit is the same as described. I tried to delete the news-directory. Same habit. I can see new messages a few times, then habit like described. I tried to delete only the newsrc-localhost: I have to readd the account and the newsgroups. After that, no signalisation of new messages. I deleted the *.msf-files. The same. I deleted the *.dat-files. The same. I deleted the *.msf- AND *.dat files. Same habit. I deleted the *.msf- *.dat and the newsrc-file. New messages are shown in the folderpane. But only a few times. When CSS-Selector shows the newMessage-true property, the icon and fontcolor changes, like it should do. So i think there is a wrong counting of new Messages in Newsgroups. Or icedove stops counting new messages after a while or in case of strange settings somewhere else, or it reaches a count and stops then... Or something strange else. I can reproduce this habit here on my machine again and again. It´s independend of other addons. I tried this. All add-ons deactivated, all add-ons deinstalled. Totally new Profile... And all variants. Always the same habit. It shows new messages only a few times, then only read/unread messages. That´s all. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages icedove depends on: ii debianutils3.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii fontconfig 2.8.0-2.1 generic font configuration library ii libasound2 1.0.23-2.1shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libatk1.0-01.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.11.2-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-6 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-31.2.24-4 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.4.2-2.1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc11:4.4.5-8 GCC support library ii libglib2.0-0 2.24.2-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-02.20.1-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libjpeg62 6b1-1 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libnspr4-0d4.8.6-1 NetScape Portable Runtime Library ii libnss3-1d 3.12.8-1+squeeze1 Network Security Service libraries ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.3-1+squeeze2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-0 1.2.44-1 PNG library - runtime ii libsqlite3-0 3.7.3-1 SQLite 3 shared library ii libstartup-notificatio 0.10-1library for program launch feedbac ii libstdc++6 4.4.5-8 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-4 X11 client-side library ii libxrender11:0.9.6-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt6 1:1.0.7-1 X11 toolkit

Bug#578439: icedove: Icedove crashes cyrus mailserver when setting junk-state to no-junk
Package: icedove Version: 3.0.4-2 Severity: important Hi! I have a similar bugreport for cyrus-2.2 (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=5784349) because i do not know, which Program is responsible for this fault. When i give a Mail in the Junk-Folder the Junk-state No-Junk, it moves to the inbox. When i click to the inbox, the mail disappears immediately. A cyrreconstruct of the mail-structure doesn´t bring this mail back. Searching for the mail in the spool-directory shows, that there are more then one hardlink to this mail. even some in the Junk-folder, and some in the Inbox. They all point to the same inode. When i delete all exept one of these hardlinks, cyrreconstruct bring this mail back. There is no such effect with Evolution. So i think it must be one of cyrus or icedove. greetings jakob -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages icedove depends on: ii debianutils 3.2.2Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii fontconfig 2.8.0-2 generic font configuration library ii libasound2 1.0.22-2 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libatk1.0-0 1.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.10.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-3 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-20.84-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype62.3.11-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.2-9GCC support library ii libglib2.0-02.24.0-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.0-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libjpeg62 6b-16.1 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libnspr4-0d 4.8.4-1 NetScape Portable Runtime Library ii libnss3-1d 3.12.6-1 Network Security Service libraries ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.0-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libsqlite3-03.6.23.1-1 SQLite 3 shared library ii libstartup-notification 0.10-1 library for program launch feedbac ii libstdc++6 4.4.2-9 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-62:1.3.3-2X11 client-side library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.5-2X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt6 1:1.0.7-1X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii psmisc 22.10-1 utilities that use the proc file s ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages icedove recommends: ii hunspell-de-at-frami [hunsp 1:3.2.0-2Austrian (German) dictionary for h ii hunspell-en-us [hunspell-di 20070829-4 English_american dictionary for hu ii libbonobo2-02.24.3-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libgconf2-4 2.28.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libgnome2-0 2.30.0-1 The GNOME library - runtime files ii libgnomevfs2-0 1:2.24.3-1 GNOME Virtual File System (runtime ii liborbit2 1:2.14.17-2 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpopt01.15-1 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii myspell-de-de [myspell-dict 20091006-4.1 German dictionary for myspell Versions of packages icedove suggests: ii ttf-lyx 1.6.5-1TrueType versions of some TeX font -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
