Bug#653299: Can not add local printer / local printer does not work
package: cups version: 1.5.0-13 Good Afternoon, After any update mu local usb printer Samsung CLX-3175 stopped working - it was no recognized connection between computer and printer. First idea - bad cable, so new cable was purchased, and no positive result. So, I have tried to uninstall and install the printer again. Deleting printer was successful, regret, adding it again was not possible - just no adding local printer option visible via localhost:631/admin/ The same is, when I have tried to use TrinityDE KControl: adding new printer function is grey - not active. Is it possible to do anything with it? After screening CUPS online manual, I see no easy answer to it. Do I miss anything? Or is it real bug? Bug#651868: Sorting problem in testing KMail
Package: kmail Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-1 Good Afternoon, I have small, but irritating problem with sorting messages in standard KMail from Debian testing: for example - I have message from somebody and I want to get listed all messages from that sender, so I click the sender bar and get all messages sorted, the problem is, that most probably, I have lost the message, I have started with - it does not stay in messages subjects listing window. To find it, I have to scroll through all sorted perhaps thousands messages. If I then try to sort according to date, so I am lost again, but in different way. This is not a problem neither in KMail in KDE3.5 Lenny (I have it at office - I have refused to update it) nor in TrinityDE (kmail-trinity 4:3.5.12-0debian7+r11784), which I have in my home Debian testing machine. It is also not a problem in Evolution which my workmates use together with old good Lenny. *** In general, I am extremely disappointed by KDE4, I see not a single improvement compared to KDE3.5, ony some fancy, hard to control skins. But it is not the question here. The question is the sorting problem in KMail from KDE4. Lucky, I have the Trinity version. Bug#628125: Can not install 6.0.1 on PC Sempron 2600
Good Afternoon, I have replaced processor and i have passed installation of base system from CD1 of Debian 6.0.1 However, when I have tried Debian LiveCD it hangs with corruped kernel image message. In general: thanks Your advice, I have replaced processor first time in my life and it was nice educational experience. Now I am downloading files for making system workable and everything seems going well. Have a nice day :-) With Best Regards Barbara Glowacka On Mon, 30 May 2011, jas...@jastra.com.pl wrote: Good Morning, Thanks for information. Bug#532604: KDE 4:3.5 - KDE 4:4.2 - failed upgrade
Package: kdebase-bin Version: 4:4.2.2-1 Perhaps problem is also with kdm and kdebase-data. I use Debian testing in my laptop, standard version, no any tweaking, no any special hardware - just cheap Acer Extensa. After standard apt-get upgrade it has turned out, I have lost my KDE - the old 3.5 was disabled, the new 4.2 upgrade is stopped. Well, it is not total catastroph, as Gnome is working, but I am seriously disappointed, why the 4.2 was partialy released for upgrade, while it was not ready for anything and caused some problems. I had an illusion about Debian... Today (02.06.2009) apt-get dist-upgrade reports following packages stopped: digikam kappfinder kdeartwork kdebase-bin kdebase-data kdm kipi-plugins kscreensaver kscreensaver-xsavers As I see it for already some days, there is nothing more left - just to fill bug repport... Bug#453115: Underscore _ character missing in dialogs in OO
Package: openoffice.org-core Version 2.04.dfsg.2-7etch2 Good Afternoon, I am fighting with small, but irritating issue: Debian stable Etch with Gnome, and OpenOffice.org without any extra tweaking - just plain, current fresh CD summer 2007 installation. 1. In dialog windows Find Replace and save as I can not type _ (underscore) character. It seems the Andale Sans UI font does not contain it. However, I can type it in various fields of tools-opitions fields I can write Polish accented characters without problems, also in dialogs. 2. I have tried to change Andale Sans UI font into anything else, but it gives just no effect. I can not find where could I change this font manually. Another Gnome application seem to work correctly, including typing _ in dialogs. In another box with KDE, but little longer system history (updated from Sarge) this problem does not exists. Wish... very great wish... perhaps to OO general development team: To be able to block calculating of date both in Writer and Calc without any extra hidden marking. Just to get it in configuration panel. --- I had problems with printing after upgrade from 1.1.4 to 2.0, but that is OK now. I do not know why, but it is OK now. Bug#349727: Printer Administration in Open Office, Debian Etch
Package: openoffice.org (?) Version: 2.0.0.5 Hi :-) I have Debian testing, Etch, quite regularly updated. In fact default installation on 2 years old PC box with AMD processor. Last big update OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 was changed into 2.0. But... Problems: 1. Printing (at least from writer) does not work and I can not find any Printer Administration in Menu or spadmin file in /home/me/.openoffice.org2 directory. 2. Directory /home/me/.openoffice/1.1.4 is not erased and there is placed file spadmin, but I have feeling, it works for the 1.1.4 version. I have tried help and there is advice to use spadmin... --- Does it mean, best is to remove all OpenOffice and install it from source? I have to say, I like tabbed browsing... My machine is ordinary no name PC. I see not problem like this. Restarting your mozilla does not help? No. Even (as we usually do) switching off the machine does not help Are the menu entries greyed out or just not functional? It seems not functional: neither clicking nor pressing (on keyboard) an understroked letter gives any reaction. what does happen when you click middle mouse button? I have traditional two-buttons serial mouse. I have Debian Sarge fresh installed in time, when it was testing and continously updated. Then I have pointed apt-get sources into stable. Kernel is of 2.4 series and (I think) very default configuration - I have not done anything to it. Have a nice weekend Best greetings :-) Basia -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#303928: KDE (in Sarge, but not only)
Package: kde 5:43 Hi :-) It is rather wish list, than bug: is it possible to pack KDE in such way, to have possibility to remove games, various players or viewers without having to remove KDE itself? Especially, because KDE is growing and growing in various directions... Just not everybody needs everything. Please, try to analyze such possibility :-) Best greetings Basia Glowacka -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#300772: OpenOffice.org 1.1.2dfsg1-3 in Sarge
Package: openoffice.org 1.1.2dfsg1-3 OpenOffice.org 1.1.2dfsg1-3 in Debian Sarge Hi, :-) I have one Sarge kernel 2.4.27-1-686 installation in standard no-brand-no-name PC computer. Nothing special in configuration. I have installed OO from my original Sarge package (15 CDs from my local vendor of December 2004) and updated later by standard apt-get. I have HP Laser Jet 6L printer on Win3.11 machine connected via Samba to my Sarge. Standard CUPS printing works OK, lp printing is also able to produce something. There is only user root and one normal user - nothing special. I had problems: 1. no printing, even with old, good lp command. After apt-get upgrade, as a root I have got test page once, and no more and later no more any printout. Absolutely nothing as normal user. It seems, jobs got nowhere (nothing in /var/spool/lpd/lp and nothing in var/spool/cups) After checking printer configuration in OO Printer Administration, i have noticed, there was no possibility to choose paper size - the pull down list contained nothing. Perhaps therefore there has been no printout. 2. Very poor MSWord 2000 files reading - corrupted tables, much worse, than in version 1.1.1 installed in my another Woody box (package from www.openoffice.org). Finally I have removed Debian packages and installed binary files from OpenOffice.org v.1.1.4 and all my problems were gone. In fact I do not know, if there are indeed bugs in OO, or Debian package installer has problems. Just for Your information. Best greetings :-) Basia Glowacka -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
