Bug#824480: sphinxsearch: /usr/bin/search is missing in the package

2017-01-18 Thread Jean-François Stenuit

The CLI interface to sphinxsearch has been deprecated by upstream at
version 0.9.9-rc2 (back in 2009).
Lots of outdated documentation still refer to it, but the official way
of testing sphinx in version 2.2 is to use any mysql client (Sphinx has
an API that is compatible with them).
It may be wise to add either mariadb-client-core or mysql-client-core as
dependency or suggestion for the package. Otherwise, first installation
and debugging of sphinxsearch may indeed be a problem.

Bug#731473: Wheezy: eth0 not working

2014-11-23 Thread Jean-François Stenuit

Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.63-2+deb7u1
Followup-For: Bug #731473

Dear Maintainer,

Same problem here. Fresh wheezy install on Shuttle DS47 hardware. Wired
ethernet doesn't work (link up, no traffic - neither via DHCP nor via
fixed IP).
Got wireless ethernet to work by installing realtek drivers from debian
non-free repository, but it doesn't help for wired.
Note : As C/C++ developer, I'm available for kernel patch attempts or
hardcore troubleshooting if need be.
