Sorry for the noise.

particular case you can look up CVE-2013-7445 and it's unlikely that
it will be addressed. Furthermore CVEs for linux are specifically
tracked in the kernel-team as well.

What about the other CVEs in the unreported list?
(https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/status/unreported) Is it
worthwhile to try to get them reported? Or is this a low priority
because they've already been triaged?

Thanks again,

Dear Maintainer,

Recently upstream made changes to the meson.build file to add the flag
-DSTANDALONE. That flag removes the ability to output logs to a file
with the -o flag. Upstream has issued a patch to return the build file
to enable logs to be piped to a file again;
https://review.coreboot.org/c/flashrom/+/42230/1/meson.build It would
be great if the flashrom maintainer could pick up this change too for
Debian.

Yes, but I must apologize for providing you incorrect infomation.
Purism's vendor ID is actually 12653 or 0x316d.

The document you point to shows our assignment of 0x316d as "Purism
SPC". Of course our patch has to be updated accordingly -- please find
attached an updated patch.

Unfortunately that is not the case.

I'm sorry to hear that.

The upstream .deb's are just .debs,
but do not follow the Debian policy at all. Packaging vagrant in a sane
way (from Debian's POV) is not trivial.

What is the best way to find what is needed to help package Vagrant?
Should one `debdiff` the package to find what is different with
Debian's version and try and Debianize the package that way? Do you
have a handy list of the steps you take to update a package for
Vagrant so I might be able to see if there is something I might help
with?

 Hi Jeremiah,

Hi Gregor,

I can't reproduce this bug, and looking at the source package, it
shouldn't happen since the path is patched:

Not sure how you ended up in this situation -- are you sure you were
running the executable from the package and not some other versions,
 maybe locally installed or something?

I may have installed a local version. I'll take a look at my local
filesystem and see if I can sort this out. Likely not a bug in the
package so I imagine we can close.

Cheers,

Jeremiah

Bug#696886: tangerine: Different licenses specifed in man page and on the Internet

2012-12-28 Thread Jeremiah C. Foster
Package: tangerine
Version: 0.3.4-3
Severity: important
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

The 'upstream' page for tangerine, https://launchpad.net/tangerine/
appears to indicate that the software is licensed GPL v3. The man page
however indicates that the software is GPL v2 and does not specify GPL
v2 or later. This is some what confusing since these are two separate
licenses from what I understand. In other words, I do not believe it
can be GPL v3 and GPL v2 at the same time, one or the other is correct,
but not both.

Regards,

Jeremiah

Could you please give a URL where one can actually download the software?

Yes, I should have put this in the bug report as well:
http://git.projects.genivi.org/?p=dlt-daemon.git;a=summary

The reason I didn't put this in the bug report is that the
git repo is not yet populated with code. It will be shortly.

 I
could only find a listing of the projects on this page with information that
 it
is meant to be open source, but couldn't find any actual source.

Do you think I should have waited to file the ITP bug? I thought
filing the bug now and closing it once the software was available
would be okay, but perhaps that is putting the cart before the horse.

 Thanks a lot,
 Michael

Thank you,

Jeremiah

The short description should be shorter (well under 80 characters) and not
repeat package name. Suggestion for short description

software framework for low-level car audio management

Thanks for pointing this out, I'll fix!

The AudioManager is meant to abstract audio in an IVI setting in a way that
  creates
a common API allowing an independence from routing mechanisms. Designed to
  handle
both dynamic and static sources and sinks it provides an API upwards to
  other
applications, like HMI. The AudioManager is not another routing mechanism
  however.

I don't know what HMI is, you could probably elaborate a bit or explain this.

Yes, good point, I'll try and make a better description.

Regards,

Jeremiah

Description : Applications in an automobile are often stand-alone
implementations, not integrated into a coherent whole. The Layer Management
software is designed to provide a vendor-specific layer management
implementation that unifies look and feel.

In the automotive domain, most HMI systems use their own window manager
implementation. Many applications (e.g. navigation, reverse camera) are
implemented standalone and therefore one service is used to composite all
applications to final image on the screen Layer Manager. The goal of this work
package is to define a common API and provide a proof-of-concept implementation
for the IVI Layer Management Service. The GENIVI IVI Layer Management provides;

- A well-defined interface
- Standardized compositing
- Convenient and consistent access to hardware accelerated modules
- Separation of HMI and Layer Management
- Dynamic extensions during runtime
- Low integration complexity
- Limited dependency on hardware

Description : Diagnostic Log and Trace is a collection of logging and
tracing protocols commonly found in an infotainment ECU as standardized by
Autosar.

This component provides a standardised log and trace interface, based on the
standardised protocol specified in the AUTOSAR standard 4.0 DLT.
This component can be used by GENIVI components and other applications as
logging facility providing
 - the DLT shared library
 - the DLT daemon
 - the DLT daemon adaptors
 - the DLT client console utilities
 - the DLT test applications

The DLT daemon is the central component in GENIVI, which gathers all
logs and traces from the DLT user applications. The logs and traces
are stored optionally directly in a file in the ECU. The DLT daemon
forwards all logs and traces to a connected DLT client.
The DLT client can send control messages to the daemon, e.g. to set
individual log levels of applications and contexts or get the list of
applications and contexts registered in the DLT daemon.

There are a lot of template engines in CPAN, for example

all of them have demerits at some points. This is why Xslate is
developed and now it is well-honed as the standard template engine for

 Hi,

The package is no longer installable in sid, and needs to be rebuild
with new ispell. Please make sure to declare both Build-Depends,
 and Depends on `ispell (= 3.3.02)'.

Thanks for reporting this. I'll try and work on this ASAP.

Hopefully it should rebuild without any troubles. However
please be aware of minor incompatibility in buildhash. The

 buildhash ${dict}.dict ${dict}.aff ${dict}.hash

command used to create two additional files i.e. ${dict}.dict.stat and
 ${dict}.dict.cnt. With the new buildhash:

  - the *.cnt file is gone (if your Makefiles needs it, create it with
 `wc -l  ${dict}.dict');

  - the *.stat file is now ${dict}.stat (i.e. the .dict extension got
 stripped out).

Very useful information, thanks!

Bug#594586: Fixed: added proper repo name.

2010-08-27 Thread Jeremiah C. Foster
Package: mic2
Severity: normal

close #594586

I added a repo name that existed in my kickstart file and this
helped. Still problems generating the image, but this bug is
not the issue and should be considered closed.

I run 'sudo m-a' and drop into the ncurses interface.
I then select lm-sensors from the list of available modules to install.
My goal is to monitor the temperature of the machine.
While m-a finds lm-sensors, it fails to install it suggesting I add a
line in my sources.list file in case the package is in contrib or
non-free. Even with this line in sources.list the package is not
found. It seems that m-a is looking for a package called
lm-sensors-source which indeed does not seem to exist in debian at
least according to a search of packages.d.o.

Bug#517221: dak: README files points to an out-of-date mailing list and mailing list archive

2009-02-26 Thread Jeremiah C. Foster

Package: dak
Version: 1.0-8.6
Severity: normal

The README file is out of date. The date is listed as 2002 and has
resources that

appear to no longer be online. Specifically the section;

There's a mailing list for discussion, development of and help with
dak. See:

for archives and details on how to subscribe.

Going to that link and subscribing produces bounced mail, and links on

Description : Test file attributes with perl.

Test::Files provides a collection of test utilities for file
attributes.

 .
Some file attributes depend on the owner of the process testing the
file in
the same way the file test operators do. For instance, root (or
super-user or
Administrator) may always be able to read files no matter the
permissions.

 .
Some attributes don't make sense outside of Unix, either, so some
tests

automatically skip if they think they won't work on the platform.

Bug#407652: ITA: html2ps -- HTML to PostScript converter

2008-12-01 Thread Jeremiah C . Foster
Hi Steaphan!

I wish to, yes, but I am not a DD, so I would need a sponsor.

No problem, and of course you do not need to be a DD, but you're right
about a sponsor. The good news is that Daniel Bauman, a DD, offered to
sponsor this package, he mentioned that when he orphaned the package:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=407652

So if you want to, go ahead and create a package for html2ps, but if you do
not want to, let me know and I will package it.

 If you
are a DD, then you would probably be a better choice, since you would
also need someone to sponsor your work.

Bug#500854: rss-0.91.dtd URL change (old URL is gone)

2008-10-02 Thread Jeremiah C. Foster
 Package: libxml-rss-perl
 Version: 1.33-1
 Tags: patch

  On this announce

 http://www.rssboard.org/news/181/rss-090-091-moving-rss-advisory-board

I see.

RSS v0.9 and v0.91 are moveing to RSS advisorry board. DTD url was
changed at that time and old url is alread gone at Aug 2008 (perhaps..
currently can not access the old url anymore)

  libxml-rss-perl-1.33/lib/XML/RSS/Private/Output/V0_91.pm only
contains old URL and it is invalid. So, RSS v0.91 support is broken
 without DTD url update.

If I understand you correctly, you mean to say that this Document
Type Definition;

!DOCTYPE rss PUBLIC -//Netscape Communications//DTD RSS 0.91//EN\n

is no longer going to be hosted at Netscape but rather at the new
advisory board and therefor the debian package needs to be updated to
reflect these changes?

I see that there is a new version of the upstream source, but it too
has the old Netscape URLs;

http://search.cpan.org/src/SHLOMIF/XML-RSS-1.35/lib/XML/RSS/Private/Output/V0_91.pm

I will forward this bug to RT to inform upstream about the problem.

Regards,
Jeremiah

The most basic test one can write is - does it compile?
This module tests if the code compiles and plays nicely with
 Test::Simple modules.

Another good practice this module can test is to use strict; in
 all perl files.

By setting a minimum test coverage through all_cover_ok(), a code
author can ensure his or her code is tested above a preset level of kwality
 throughout the development cycle.

Along with Test::Pod, this module can provide the first tests to
 setup for a module author.

CPAN::Search::Lite is a perl module that allows one to replicate a
CPAN (Comprehensive Perl Archive Network) installation. You can then
index and search this installation locally. If a local CPAN mirror is
available, the pod (and converted html) documentation will be
extracted from the packages, as well as possible
README/INSTALL/Changes/META.yml files. See http://mirrors.cpan.org/
for details on how you can mirror CPAN, or alternatively, the
CPAN-Mini distribution under
http://www.cpan.org/authors/id/R/RJ/RJBS/ for a way to set up a
minimal CPAN mirror consisting of only the latest distributions.

As well as various Perl modules which are checked for when
installing, MySQL is required; version 4 is needed for some text
searching capabilities
