Bug#690744: mediatomb: Daemon doesn't start on "service mediatomb start", but works on "service mediatomb restart".

2012-10-16 Thread Jin Liu
Package: mediatomb
Version: 0.12.1-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

When I run "service mediatomb start" in console, (or when it runs automatically
in start-up) the mediatomb daemon doesn't start.
cat /var/log/mediatomb.log:

Bug#535980: hal not loading addon-cpufreq on boot, but restarting hal loads it

2009-07-06 Thread Jin Liu
Package: hal
Version: 0.5.12~git20090406.46dc48-2
Severity: normal

On a fresh system boot, KDE4's PowerDevil thinks the system has no "scaling
capability", and can't select frequency governers. Nor
do "ps aux|grep hal" list /usr/lib/hal/hald-addon-cpufreq.

"sudo /etc/init.d/hal restart" fixes the problem - PowerDevil can select
frequency governers, and "ps aux|grep hal" now list
hald-addon-cpufreq.

So looks like something prevented hald-addon-cpufreq to be loaded when booting,
but it can be loaded if hald is restarted?
