Bug#849330: firmware-iwlwifi: intel 8260 does not work when using modfile /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-8000C-22.ucode and kernel 4.8
I just upgraded to the backported package... the same file was installed (iwlwifi-8000C-22.ucode), and after rebooting I do not have any problems anymore. Bug#849330: firmware-iwlwifi: intel 8260 does not work when using modfile /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-8000C-22.ucode and kernel 4.8
Package: firmware-iwlwifi Version: 20161130-2 Severity: important Hello Maintainer, Using a laptop with an intel 8260 wifi chip (HP Zbook 15 G3) and linux kernel 4.8, wifi does not work. This is a known problem; see https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/51271 It looks like the answer is that the debian package does not contain the latest fixes. I can fix the problem by following the directions in the website link given above: - copy / move /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-8000C-22.ucode, and the kernel will then use /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-8000C-21.ucode, which works. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.7.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) firmware-iwlwifi depends on no packages. firmware-iwlwifi recommends no packages. Bug#840949: konsole: background konsole processing using 100% cpu after login
Package: konsole Version: 4:16.04.2-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, On a clean login of Plasma, occasionally a background konsole process will be running at 100% CPU usage. I have waited for some time for it to exit before but apparently not long enough. Killing the process seems to end the problem with no untoward side effects. Currently this is the only information I have, I will update the bug if I can find more clues. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.7.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages konsole depends on: ii konsole-kpart 4:16.04.2-1 ii libc6 2.24-3 ii libkf5completion5 5.26.0-1 ii libkf5configcore5 5.26.0-1 ii libkf5configgui55.26.0-1 ii libkf5configwidgets55.26.0-1 ii libkf5coreaddons5 5.26.0-3 ii libkf5i18n5 5.26.0-1 ii libkf5iconthemes5 5.26.0-1 ii libkf5kdelibs4support5 5.26.0-1 ii libkf5kiowidgets5 5.26.0-1 ii libkf5notifyconfig5 5.26.0-1 ii libkf5widgetsaddons55.26.0-1 ii libkf5windowsystem5 5.26.0-1 ii libkf5xmlgui5 5.26.0-1 ii libqt5core5a5.6.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5gui5 5.6.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libqt5widgets5 5.6.1+dfsg-3+b1 ii libstdc++6 6.2.0-6 konsole recommends no packages. konsole suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
