Hi Jeffrey, The upstream developer for nec2c has provided a patch to fix your reported segfault. It is in nec2c_0.6-3_i386.deb package which I have just uploaded, it will hit the archive tomorrow. xnec2c was also affected, the fix is in xnec2c_1.0-2_i386.deb. Bug#482410: paq8l: Compression errors with -9 flag
Just got an e-mail from upstream. Valid options seem to be -0 to -8. Both the manpage and "paq8l -h" doesn't reflect this, but if you type paq8l by itself, it says: -- $ paq8l paq8l archiver (C) 2006, Matt Mahoney et al. Free under GPL, http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt To compress: paq8l -level file (compresses to file.paq8l) paq8l -level archive files... To extract or compare: paq8l -d dir1/archive.paq8l (extract to dir1) paq8l -d dir1/archive.paq8l dir2 (extract to dir2) paq8l archive.paq8l (extract, pause when done) To view contents: more < archive.paq8l Close this window or press ENTER to continue... - I hope this clarifies things. Bug#477709: ITP: paq8l -- open source file compressor and archiver
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Joop Stakenborg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * Package name: paq8l Version : 20070308 Upstream Author : Matt Mahoney <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * URL : http://www.cs.fit.edu/~mmahoney/compression/ * License : GPL Programming Lang: C++ Description : open source file compressor and archiver Paq8l is one of a series of open source data compression archivers that have evolved through collaborative development to top rankings on several benchmarks measuring compression ratio (although at the expense of speed and memory usage). The paq compressors use context mixing: a large number of models estimate the probability that the next bit of data will be a 0 or 1. These predictions are combined and arithmetic coded (similar to PPM). In paq6, predictions are combined by weighted averaging, then adjusting the weights to favor the most accurate models. Paq7 and later differ mainly in that model predictions are combined using a neural network rather than by weighted averaging. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=nl_NL.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nl_NL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Package: yelp Version: 2.20.0-2 Severity: normal Tags: patch The latest yelp ignores manpage sections. Try 'yelp "man:man(7)"', it will display man.1. Bug#469400: yelp: 'Page not found' popups
Package: yelp Version: 2.20.0-2 Severity: normal When using yelp for displaying manpages, I sometimes get a popup saying "Page not found" and the following text added: "The requested page was not found in the document /usr/share/man/man1/test.1.gz.", even though the manual page appears to display okay. Didn't get to it yet. We need to check if the patches have somehow made it into 2.07. You could also ask for removal of the package. Maybe it is a better solution because it is unmaintained. Regards, Joop -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". --- Begin Message --- Hello Joop, Thank you for mentioning that my current etch system is running well with a 2.4 kernel. I think you are correct about putting a banner in the packages, that they are depend on 2.6 or other kernel series or al least kernel x and up. I am not sure if you can detect that there is a kernel of at least x is installed, then you still can do the dependency. That would close the bug. 73, Arjan On Dec 5, 2007 12:40 PM, Joop Stakenborg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Technically you are right, there is no bug in libax25 or FBB. According to the Debian BTS, last contact has been on 15 Nov 2005. To my question "Does fbb still crash your PC, as you reported in this bug?", there was no response for 2 weeks, so I decided to close it.
