Bug#581365: O: awffull -- web server log analysis program

2010-05-12 Thread Jose Carlos Medeiros
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Description:
AWFFull is a Web server log analysis program, forked from Webalizer.
It adds a number of new features and improvements, such as extended
frontpage history, resizable graphs, and a few more pie charts.

Webalizer is a great weblog analysis program but hasn't been going
anywhere in recent years. AWFFull takes that base and starts to fix
the niggles and annoyances and hopefully become a useful enhancement.

As a base, weblizer has a stated goal of producing web server
analysis. AWFFull on the other hand, will gradually focus more on the
business intelligence contained within those logs - and not
specifically limited just to web server logs.

Major Enhancements vs. Webalizer

The frontpage history can now cover more than 12 months. StyleSheets
(CSS) are supported. Customise to your hearts content! The log type
can be auto-detected Can process: CLF, Combined, Squid, FTP XFER and
Domino v6 Logs All graphs are now resizable, rather than being a fixed
size Config File simplification to reduce duplication of common config
pairings Bookmarking numbers are tracked. Be aware that these are
estimates! Backend changes: Use of PCRE lib and standard library calls
to ease coding pain Pattern Matching improvements can increase the
speed of a run by 50%. YMMV! 404 Errors are tracked and displayed with
both the target and referrering URL Can specify what is a page or what
is not.

It achieves a compact layout and a compact output code also for menus
with a large number of entries.

It provides horizontal and vertical layers-based menus whose behavior
is analogous to menus of commonly used GUI-based applications. It also
provides JavaScript-based tree menus, whose look is analogous to the
most widely used file managers and bookmark handling tools.

Hi,

I just thought I should let you know that the timeout parameter of
addServer in 3.0.1 isn't honoured at all (it's always 1 second).  This
is fixed in 3.0.4 (in testing).  I don't know that there's much you
can do about it, but it might help if anyone approaches you for
support.

3.0.1 (lenny):
strace -f php -r '$memcache = new
Memcache;$memcache-addServer('localhost', 11211, false, 1, 3, 1,
true, null);print $memcache-getversion().\n;' 21|grep -B2 VERSION
send(4, version\r\n..., 9, 0)         = 9
select(5, [4], [], NULL, {1, 0})        = 1 (in [4], left {0, 98})
recv(4, VERSION 1.2.2\r\n..., 32768, 0) = 15

3.0.4(testing):
strace -f php -r '$memcache = new
Memcache;$memcache-addServer('localhost', 11211, false, 1, 3, 1,
true, null);print $memcache-getversion().\n;' 21|grep -B2 VERSION
send(4, version\r\n..., 9, MSG_NOSIGNAL) = 9

To: deb...@psabs.com.br

Hi,

I've noticed that my dictd2dic.sh script for conversion of dictd
dictionaries to StarDict format is removed from Debian Lenny binary
distribution (probably still in src package), while the binary for
conversion is still there. This binary is useless without the script
(I once wrote it expecially for Debian users).

I'd ask you to return at least this only script back, so that users
without internet could still use Stardict with lots of dictd
dictionaries shipped with Debian (Wordnet, mueller, gcide etc.).

I'd appreciate returning the rest of my five .sh files back, e.g.
i2e.sh for wonderful English-Spanish dictionary from i2e Debian
package. The only thing you should do is removing 'gcc ...' line from
some of them.

Thank you,
Ruslan

Hello,
just wantet to inform you that PEAR Net_LDAP2
(http://pear.php.net/package/Net_LDAP) is stable now. This also means, that
Net_LDAP has reached its end of life and only will get bug fixes anymore.
It would be nice if you could package up Net_LDAP2 for debian.

Net_LDAP2 should be mostly compatible to Net_LDAP, however application
developer must manually do the transition of their php code to use
Net_LDAP2.
Because of this, i would suggest that the old php-net-ldap package
suggests the new php-net-ldap2 one so users will be informed that they
should switch to the new one.

Greetings and thank you,

Subject: New Xfe version 1.18 and fixed bugs
To: Jose Carlos Medeiros j...@psabs.com.br

Hi Jose,
I've just released today the new Xfe version 1.18 with a lot of new features.
I've also fixed many bugs and you will find below the list of Debian bugs I've
fixed.
Thanks for packaging Xfe on Debian!
My best regards,
RB

Bug 469572 : fixed
This was a severe memory leak.

Bug 471578 : fixed
Now Xfe looks if xterm is installed on the system and use it for the root
access. If there is no xterm, then it tries to use the user specified terminal
program.

Bug 368767 : fixed
There is now the possibility to extract an archive to a directory name based on
the archive name.

Bug 355617 : fixed
When you open a document, Xfe displays an hourglass during some time.

Bug 311019 : fixed
The default text editor is now Xfw which is provided with Xfe and then is
available, whatever the distribution.

Bug 475940 : fixed?
I'm not totally sure that this bug is fixed. I don't see it on my system, but
could you test it on yours?

Bug 368768 : -
IMHO, this one is not a bug but a wishlist. I admit I didn't implement the trash
can in the usual way because I don't like to have trash files on my removable
medias. I understand it could be a problem when the file copy process is long.
But in this case, the user still has the ability to definitely delete the files
instead of moving them to the trash can.

Hello!
Net_LDAP is still maintained for bugfixes, however, no further development
will be included.
Net_LDAP is meant for old systems depending on php4 since Net_LDAP2 is php5
only.

Net_LDAP will be available in pear, but becomes unmaintained if Net_LDAP2
becomes stable. Maybe it will be supported for bugs a short while after
that, if the bugs affects Net_LDAP2 too.

I think the best solution is, to make a net-ldap1 and a net-ldap2 package,
and a meta package net-ldap that installs net-ldap2.
This way, users will automatically upgrade to net-ldap2 (which is
compatible to Net_LDAP) but still can downgrade to net-ldap1 if they need
to. But maybe there are better solutions in debian package management i
dont know of.

Thank you for your reply,
Beni

 Net_LDAP2 is considered PHP5 only.

Bug#529681: RFA: php-xml-serializer -- wiss-army knife for reading and writing XML files

2009-05-20 Thread Jose Carlos Medeiros
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Description below:

Description: swiss-army knife for reading and writing XML files
Creates XML files from data structures and vice versa.
XML_Serializer serializes complex data structures like arrays or object as
 XML documents.
This class helps you generating any XML document you require without the need
 for DOM.
Furthermore this package can be used as a replacement to serialize() and
unserialize() as it comes with a matching XML_Unserializer that is able to
create PHP data structures (like arrays and objects) from XML documents, if
 type hints are available.
If you use the XML_Unserializer on standard XML files, it will try to guess
how it has to be unserialized. In most cases it does exactly what you expect it
 to do.
Try reading a RSS file with XML_Unserializer and you have the whole RSS file in
a structured array or even a collection of objects, similar to XML_RSS.
 .
Since version 0.8.0 the package is able to treat XML documents similar to the
 simplexml extension of PHP 5.

Hello Steve and Jose!

In fact I forgot about this bug, latest release works fine on my
system, in this way:

LANGUAGE=it awffull

I don't remeber if the problem was related to a particular version or
just an incomplete translation (for example the help is still in
english).

I think I'll need to take the time to complete the translation (but
that's really not easy now...).

Bye!

Bug#512329: php-cache: Error Handling In Container Problem

2009-01-20 Thread Jose Carlos Medeiros
Description:

If an error is thrown in Container::fetch(), it is not
handled in Container::preload(). Because it is immediately
used in list(), a fatal error occurs.

I fixed this by changing (in Container::preload()):

list($this-expires, $this-cachedata, $this-userdata) =
$this-fetch($id, $group);

To:

if(PEAR::isError($ret = $this-fetch($id, $group))){

Bug#466373: patch for dact to use liblzo2.

 thanks

Simply updating the liblzo-dev build-dependency to liblzo2-dev seems to
solve the problem without any further adjustments needed.
To generate a proper clean diff on rebuilds, Makefile.dep and dact.conf
needs to be removed when cleaning.

Bug#411276: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the xbanner package

2008-05-16 Thread Jose Carlos Medeiros
Hi, Christian

I will update this package on this weekend.

Regards,
Jose Carlos

2008/5/16 Christian Perrier [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
Dear maintainer of xbanner and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the xbanner Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation
 update in the BTS.

I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload
for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization
bug as well as all other pending translations.

The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond in two
weeks, so I will proceed with the NMU.

The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail.

The package is currently translated to:
cs da de es fr ja nl pt pt_BR ru sv vi

Among these, the following translations are incomplete: none

If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get
ANOTHER mail with the translation to update.

Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations
for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report
against the xbanner package so I can incorporate them in the build.

The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Sunday, May 25,
 2008. If you
are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS.

The POT file is attached to this mail.

If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU
and send him/her all updates I receive.

Otherwise the following will happen (or already has):

Monday, May 05, 2008 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
 the package maintainer.
Friday, May 16, 2008 : send this notice
Friday, May 23, 2008 : deadline for receiving translation updates
Sunday, May 25, 2008 : build the package and upload it to DELAYED/2-day
send the NMU patch to the BTS
Tuesday, May 27, 2008 : NMU uploaded to incoming

Thanks for your efforts and time.

I have already translated it into French.

of bug reports (sorry about those). I am under the impression that

Cool. Currently I'm actually mostly interested in bringing 1.2.x in (even
better) shape, as this is what I use. But then, I'm happy to switch to 1.3 if
upstream thinks it's ready. (Which I dont believe it is, considering it's not
 even in experimental.)

So I intend to give the package to Matthias, and leave it up to him to
decide how he wants to arrange the maintanership, that is, if he wants
co-maintainers, if he still wants to keep the code in the upstream SVN
repo, and so on. So you should all talk to him. :-)

 Hallo Matthias ;)

BTW. We have an IRC channel, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Matthias, Stig, and

Is this OFTC or freenode or really another irc network?

Summary: FTBFS with GCC 4.3: missing #includes

Initial Comment:
Hi,

Im a Stardict-tools Debian mantainer, and I received this bug report.

Your package fails to build with GCC 4.3. Version 4.3 has not been
released yet but I'm building with a snapshot in order to find errors
and give people an advance warning. In GCC 4.3, the C++ header
dependencies have been cleaned up. The advantage of this is that
programs will compile faster. The downside is that you actually
need to directly #include everything you use (but you really should
do this anyway, otherwise your program won't work with any compiler
other than GCC). There's some more information about this at
http://www.cyrius.com/journal/2007/05/10#gcc-4.3-include

You can reproduce this problem with gcc-snapshot from unstable. Note
that Red Hat, Novell and Ubuntu have done some work getting packages
to build with GCC 4.3 so there might be patches floating around
somewhere. I suggest you talk to your upstream.

In IT the whole template file itself is nested in a meta block called

 Ok, I see...
You know, you should rather focus on asking/helping upstream to fix this
problem. Reporting on freedesktop.bugzilla.org is more helpful than
duplicating a bug report in Ubuntu and Debian.

I am reassigning xkb-data, it's probably where the fix is needed.

Bug#455564: also want to maintain it

2008-01-09 Thread Jose Carlos Medeiros
Hi, Patrick

I was bit busy with end year. On this week I think put a revision with
me as mantainer.
There is a alioth group with mc package. Look at ITA,
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=455564

Well, to be honest I dont like to work in group to mantain packages,
because I have a few time to talk about changes etc, .
But if you want, you can adopt this package. As you are a Debian
Developer, I think you will be a better mantainer then me.

What you think about? :)

Regards
Jose Carlos

2008/1/9, Patrick Winnertz [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
 Hello,

 Any progress here?
Since mc is a very hugh and very wide used programm I would suggest to
create a alioth for it and team- maintain it there.

Are you interested in this solution? If yes, I'll create a pkg-mc group.

 Greetings
 Winnie

Hi,

I just saw the new version in Debian unstable, great :)
One note that I saw in the diff: cdbs already knows about cmake and has its
own class for it: /usr/share/cdbs/1/class/cmake.mk

I didn't even know cdbs, yet.

Have fun :)

However, the file is present in the current package in testing (0.3-2).
