To be honest I am not able to recreate bug - I have different hardware

Will try.

But it seems that I was wrong. After using for a while new profile
started to behave the same (wrong) way as old (i.e. I cannot use NNTP) so I
believe something is broken in NNTP in Thunderbird 102.

I am pretty sure no. This nntp server has no encryption configured (it
is my small home server.)

Bug#1012431: exim4: Exim does not deliver local mail immediately through pipe transport

2022-06-07 Thread Kamil Jońca

It seems that there is some relation about process limits
When I changed in limits.conf

--8<---cut here---start->8---
grep logcheck /etc/security/limits.conf
logcheck- nproc 5000
--8<---cut here---end--->8---

exim starts deliver mail immediately.
On the other hand when I restore default limits:

--8<---cut here---start->8---
echo bla |sudo -u logcheck mail frane
--8<---cut here---end--->8---
the difference is that
"kjonca" have a lot existing processes on this machine (and limts also
set higher than usual) and franek logging in occasionally.
So it seem that tere is relation between process limits sender and
recipients.

Bug#993236: Acknowledgement (calibre: in calibredb --timeout parameter seems to be ignored)

2021-09-25 Thread Kamil Jońca

I do not know how to classify it.
It seems that calibredb timeout is determined by timeout setting at
calibre server side.
I.e if I set at server side I set timeout to 600 seconds calibredb
started to behave as expected.
So maybe calibredb behaviour is correct, but information about server
timeout should be put in calibredb manual.

Bug#993236: Acknowledgement (calibre: in calibredb --timeout parameter seems to be ignored)

2021-08-29 Thread Kamil Jońca

After some digging it seems that, calibre in

--8<---cut here---start->8---
File "/usr/lib/calibre/calibre/db/cli/main.py", line 205, in remote_run
--8<---cut here---end--->8---

pass proper timeout (600) to "mechanize Browser.open_novisit"
So it is possible that mechanize module has bug.

To record: I experimented after issuing bug and found that I have file
for load intel drivers.:

--8<---cut here---start->8---
%cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-intel.conf
Section "Device"
 Identifier "Intel"
 Driver "intel"
 BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection
--8<---cut here---end--->8---

When I commented out this file (which I believe makes that x.org uses
"modesetting" driver), firefox 88 starts to work.

So now I am not sure if it is bug in firefox or in intel driver.

After uncommenting back this file data from firefox 87 are:

2020-11-15 Thread "Kamil Jońca"

Seems that it is related to debug-on-error variable.
When it is set to non-nil - emacs exists with error.
When it is set to nil - emacs survives lost connection.

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

 * What led up to the situation?

Trying to use ethernet controler - but it was very slow (single kilobytes/sec)

 * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I took driver from https://github.com/koljah-de/e1000e-dkms-debian/
removed calls to "mmiowb", compiled and installed - and this module works as
expected.
Moreover kernel 5.2 from ubuntu also works.

I can confirm, that upgrade wpasupplicant:amd64 (2:2.4-1, 2:2.6-13)

there were no other changes (broadcom drivers or firmware)

downgraded wpasupplicant works like a charm.

Hm. It looks like, that it is rather with ssl or perl libraries.

There is simple laser pointing device.
When systemd udev files are installed - this device is not visible to X

What exactly do you mean by not visible to the X server?

This device behaves as degenerated keyboard - has two buttons which
produce Prior/Next and b/F5 (when holding down) keys.

With systemd udev files xev does not signal any keys, when buttons are
pressed. Moreover X server when restarde does not write anything about
this device to logs.

When I remove these files X server found this device.

Which udev rules files did you remove explicitly?
mv -vi /lib/udev/rules.d/71-seat.rules /lib/udev/rules.d/71-seat.rules--

The only issue I can think of is that this is related to device
permissions, which means /lib/udev/rules.d/70-uaccess.rules would be
involved.
When you are logged in, and before you plugin the device, what is the
output of
systemd-loginctl?
