Don't know if it can be relevant, but vlc 4.0.0-dev in master, both with
classic and modern layout, doesn't suffer from this issue, or at least i'm
not able to reproduce it.

I've compiled 3.0.18-rc2 (sorry i wasn't able to build 3.0.12 also), sadly
it is still reproducible. I really hope that if it's unfixable, at least
some workaround could take place, i'm not ready to switch to wayland.

Bug#1021370: pipewire: build with bluez5-codec-aac=enabled

2022-10-06 Thread KeyofBlueS
Package: pipewire
Version: 0.3.59-1
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-Cc: keyofbl...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

please build pipewire with aac codec support enabled. If this is not possible
due to legal\patent issues, please mention it somewhere in the readme and/or in
the description, maybe in the debian wiki too.
I've spent months to understand why my bluetooth (aac) devices wont pick this
codec, looking in config files, installing and removing packages ecc...
Now i've compiled and installed from sources and it's working, but as i said,
mention it somewhere can be usefull to other users, giving us some clues on
what's going on.

Thanks and best regards.

Bug#1021140: vlc: No video when "Integrate video in interface" is enabled

2022-10-03 Thread KeyofBlueS
Yes. At the time to reporting this, #1021032 had issue on mp4 videos only, so
I thought it was a complete different problem here.

In any case vlc 3.0.17.4-5 solves this issue so it can be now closed.

Thanks.

2022-10-02 Thread KeyofBlueS
Package: vlc
Version: 3.0.17.4-4+b2
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: keyofbl...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

vlc can't display any video when "Integrate video in interface" is enabled.

I've tried several video files, reset vlc config, disabled "Input/Codecs >
Hardware-accelerated decoding" and no matter what i set in "Video > Output",
nothing changes.
I've followed the "Debugging and bug reporting advices", also.

This happened, i guess, after the recent upgrade of some qt stuff in sid.

vlc -vvv log is attached.

Thanks and best regards.

Bug#1005311:

2022-02-19 Thread KeyofBlueS
Hi, I tested the nvidia legacy 340.108-12+b1 driver with
xserver-xorg-core 2:21.1.3-2+b1 (xorg-video-abi-25) and it seems it's
working fine by just adding:

Section "ServerFlags"
  Option "IgnoreABI" "1"
EndSection

in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia.conf

Is there hope that the legacy 340.108 driver will still be supported
by debian sid? Andreas Beckmann? please?

Thanks and best regards.

With the last kernel 5.10.9-1 (compiled in order to enable g_mass_storage),

With kernel 5.10.4-1 (also compiled in order to enable g_mass_storage) works as

Yes I'm on unstable. I upgraded on December 31th but I waited a few days to
check that the problem just wasn't on my side.
I labeled it as important because it seemed right to me (it doesn't cause
data loss or introduces a security hole ecc...).
Among the various tests that I did, I disabled lightdm too and it can be
enabled again with "dpkg-reconfigure lightdm".
I made that script because I needed to easly switch between 340.107-8 and
340.108-1 for troubleshooting.

Bug#948195:

2020-01-04 Thread KeyofBlueS
Hi jim_p,

Same problem I reported in bug #948032
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=948032

To downgrade I've written a dirty script for my personal use, if you need
it You'll find it in attachment.

Bug#948032: nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver 340.108-1 hangs on boot

2020-01-03 Thread KeyofBlueS
Package: nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver
Version: 340.107-8
Severity: important

Dear mainteiners,

after upgrading nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver from 340.107-8 to 340.108-1, my
system completely hangs (black screen) when display manager (lightdm) start, I
can't even switch to others tty.
This happen with both linux-image-5.3.0-3-amd64 and linux-image-5.4.0-1-amd64

The only thing I can do is send Magic SysRq key (greisub) to reboot.

I had to revert to 340.107-8 from recovery mode.

Please help me to give you more information,

Thanks.

Bug#842184: policykit-1: synaptic-pkexec no more work

2016-10-27 Thread KeyofBlueS
I am on Xfce so yes, using policykit-1-gnome here. And again yes, after
running /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 from
a terminal, authentication works fine.

Good job!
Thanks

Bug#794410:

2015-12-04 Thread KeyofBlueS
Hi,

I've encountered this same bug, hang on "select and install software -
running dpkg - at 12%"

VT 4 last line shows "in-target: Processing triggers for libc-bin"

Tried with following UNOFFICIAL NON-FREE (becouse realtek firmware request)
images on USB:

http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/cd-including-firmware/8.2.0/amd64/iso-cd/firmware-8.2.0-amd64-netinst.iso2015-09-06

HW is Lenovo B50-10 laptop with realtek integrated lan/wlan

Bug#794410:

2015-12-04 Thread KeyofBlueS
After many trials installer was able to complete the installation

I used the following image (already used before and failed)
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/cd-including-firmware/weekly-builds/amd64/iso-cd/firmware-testing-amd64-netinst.iso
11/30/2015 06:59 281m

I had tried different BIOS configurations, and in the scenario when it
worked, the last thing I changed in BIOS was an option related to UEFI:
"Boot Priority" [UEFI First]

So after system start I had "EFI USB Device (the one whit debian installer)
has been blocked by the current security policy."

After pressing ok, debian installer started in Legacy boot mode and all
went ok

...but I don't know if it's just a coincidence...

Bug#705800: blueman: Headset - Connection Failed: Connect failed

2013-04-25 Thread KeyofBlueS
I think I found a mistake in [1]. Could you please

 - open your /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/blueman/main/PulseAudioUtils.py
 (as root)

 - go to lines 433 and 436

 - change sink to source

and see if that fixes the problem.

 Thanks!

Hi,

Unfortunately it doesn't work.

But I've a more complete output for you, it shows when headset
correctly connect the first time after bluetooth service was
restarted,
hope it can give some help:

(N.B. changes to PulseAudioUtils.py have been reverted to original
1.23+update1-1)

### blueman 1.23+update1-1 loaded AFTER bluetooth service was

 Hi,

could you show the output with 1.23-1 as well? There are only small upstream
changes and I'm not sure which one may have caused the problem.

 Cheers

Sure, here it is:

Bug#641712: mail-notification: popup is misplaced

2013-04-04 Thread KeyofBlueS
Package: notification-daemon
Followup-For: Bug #641712

I have this problem for very long time since I used gnome 2 and even when I
switched to XFCE some time ago (now I'm on XFCE 4.10 from experimental, and the
bug is still here).

CAUTION: It's not a notification, but a popup or a tooltip.

So I think this bug shouldn't be reassigned to notification-daemon (indeed I
have xfce4-notifyd).

The problem is, more emails (or just text lines) contained in the popup, more
the popup will be rendered at the bottom of the screen, until it exit out of
sight.
Look at this bug report from an Ubuntu User (with LXDE):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mail-notification/+bug/971909

and His screenshot:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mail-
notification/+bug/971909/+attachment/2992003/+files/Screenshot%20from%202012-04-02%2023%3A08%3A38.png

I hope this bug will be fixed soon, I'm here for any test.

Thanks!

Bug#702953: gtk2-engines-xfce: make gtk2-engines-xfce really multiarch

2013-03-13 Thread KeyofBlueS
Package: gtk2-engines-xfce

Dear Maintainer,

On a multiarch system, is impossible to install both i386 amd64 of gtk2
-engines-xfce (ver. 3.0.1-1).

I think it would be enough to add this to control file:
Multi-Arch: same

Thanks!
