Bug#671844: condor: Configure fails if condor user exists
Package: condor Version: 7.7.6~dfsg.1-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Maintainer, when trying to install condor, configuring the package fails because the script exits with an error code if the condor user exists. Output: Setting up condor (7.7.6~dfsg.1-2) ... adduser: The user `condor' already exists. Bug#671844: condor: Configure fails if condor user exists
May I ask where this condor user came from? According to It's possible that I installed it manually in the days when I couldn't find a Debian package. I'm not migrating from this custom installation however -- I've been using the Debian package for some time now and the system is just upgrading it. Bug#671844: condor: Configure fails if condor user exists
Are you referring to the Debian package from experimental that you are upgrading from, or to the Debian package that the condor group is providing? I'm upgrading the package from the Debian repo unless I'm very mistaken. If the former is the case, I have no clue how this can happen. If the latter is the case, we have a problem. Could you, in this case provide some details on your existing condor user, e.g. the /etc/passwd line (actual passwd strippef, if present). The line is condor:x:1002:1002:,,,:/home/condor:/bin/bash I guess I added the user myself at some point. The thing is that I'm pretty sure that I installed the package from the Debian repo earlier and it didn't complain (or at least didn't fail). Bug#671844: condor: Configure fails if condor user exists
Yes, indeed. Before I checked whether there is a user condor and did not create one in case there was. Now I leave this to adduser -- which _only_ fails in the case of non-system user being present on the system. Now you need to convince me that the bug is in the package and not on your system ;-) Well actually your arguments make perfect sense to me -- I'm happy for you to close the bug :) I'll change my condor user to something that adduser is happy with. Bug#511105: closed by Norbert Veber nve...@pyre.virge.net (Bug#511105: fixed in gkrellweather 2.0.8-1)
Strange. I'm not having the issue anymore. Did you restart gkrellm after upgrading the plugin? Yes. Which station ID do you use? EGQL. You can also try to exit gkrellm and then rm -rf ~/.wmWeatherReports in case there are any corrupt files there, or some file permission issues. Tried that as well, same effect. Unfortunatelly there has not been a new upstream version for a very long time. To clarify, the same version on Gentoo Linux works fine. Lars -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
