Bug#754828: xserver-xorg-video-nvidia: broken in sid

2014-07-18 Thread Latévi Max LAWSON DAKU

Hi,

I also confirm this bug. I'm running Debian testing/sid on my laptop

(nvida+bumblebee) and it seems to me impossible to downgrade
the xorg packages. For instance, according to the log recorded
during my system update,

   xserver-common (1.15.1-1 = 1.15.99.904-1)
   xserver-xephyr (1.15.1-1 = 1.15.99.904-1)
   xserver-xorg-core (1.15.1-1 = 1.15.99.904-1)
   xserver-xorg-input-evdev (2.8.2-1+b1 = 2.8.2-1+b2)
   xserver-xorg-input-mouse (1.9.0-1+b2 = 1.9.0-1+b3)
   xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (1.7.3-1+b1 = 1.8.0-1)
   xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse (13.0.0-1+b2 = 13.0.0-1+b3)
   xserver-xorg-video-cirrus (1.5.2-2 = 1.5.2-2+b1)
   xserver-xorg-video-fbdev (0.4.4-1+b1 = 0.4.4-1+b2)
   xserver-xorg-video-intel (2.21.15-2+b1 = 2.21.15-2+b2)
   xserver-xorg-video-mach64 (6.9.4-1+b2 = 6.9.4-1+b3)
   xserver-xorg-video-mga (1.6.3-2 = 1.6.3-2+b1)
   xserver-xorg-video-modesetting (0.9.0-1 = 0.9.0-1+b1)
   xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (1.0.10-1+b1 = 1.0.10-1+b2)
   xserver-xorg-video-radeon (7.4.0-1 = 7.4.0-2)
   xserver-xorg-video-vesa (2.3.3-1+b2 = 2.3.3-1+b3)
   xserver-xorg-video-vmware (13.0.2-3 = 13.0.2-3+b1)

I should reinstall the version 2.8.2-1+b1 of the package
xserver-xorg-input-evdev; but this one is not available on
ftp.debian.org.

By the way, it has been reported in previous mails that the driver
from the nvidia sid can be installed. Could someone explain me
how she/he proceeded? Thanks in advance :-)

All the best,
Max

Bug#348677: xlibs: AltGr no more works with swiss (fr_CH) keyboard

2006-01-18 Thread Latévi Max LAWSON DAKU
Package: xlibs
Version: 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Tags: l10n

*** Please type your report below this line ***

After upgrades to 6.9.x xorg series, the AltGr key stops
working, thus making mostly unusable my swiss (fr_CH)
keyboard. This key actually functions as an AltR key.

This comes from the xlibs packages. As a workaround,
I keep using the old xlibs=6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 package.

Best regards
L. M. Lawson Daku

Many thanks,

Reconfiguring xserver-xorg using the
right options indeed solved the "problem" :-)

Best regards,
Max

Hi,

there is no bug, you want
  Option "XkbLayout" "ch"
  Option "XkbVariant" "fr"
instead.

Denis
