Most likely the connection is not manages by NM.

Run
nmcli device

If it is configured in /etc/network/interfaces, NM won't manage it, so
comment the config out for that interface if you want to use it in NM.

Is there a reason against switching to this fork under the old license?

There are still applications using bdb by default and that means there
should be tools to read and edit them for the next years to support a
migration.

Bug#1054636: gopher: telnet error results in freeze

2023-10-27 Thread Marco Moock
Package: gopher
Version: 3.0.17.3+nmu1+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Opening a telnet link in gopher that tries to connect to a server that cannot
be reached.

Pressing Ctrl+C exits telnet and shows the prompt to return to the gopherhole.

Press to continue shows up. After pressing return, it returns and
beeps in an endless loop. No more control is possible.

To check
gopher port70.de
Select "[43] Plain text world map "
Trying 0.0.0.23... appears, then press Ctrl+C and enter.
That telnet target is unreachable, but that should not result in a freeze of
gopher after returning.

Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

Start aisleriot via the sol comand.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Start the game, then an error message schema exception occured (in German).
After that I can choose to report it. After that a new game starts that works
fine.
Sometimes I also experienced that error when dragging the first card.

Bug#1029311: mwm mouse cannot be used after suspend

2023-01-20 Thread Marco Moock
Package: mwm
Version: 2.3.8-3
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: m...@posteo.de

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
I use mwm on my system (X11 with nouveau). If I suspend the system via
"systemctl suspend", sometimes the situation occurs that after I woke it up, I
can't use the mouse on mwm, but on the active X clients. Keyboard shortcuts
work properly (like Alt+Tab), but I cannot use the context menu on the window
borders nor the background. It happened many times, but not every time I sent
the system to suspend.
If you need more information, please tell me, so I can provide it.

Sending ICMPv6 echo request to an address where the router replies with ICMPv6

2022-12-08 Thread Marco Moock
Package: src:linux

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
My Logitech Inc. QuickCam Communicate STX USB Webcam 046d:08d7 can't
use USB 2.0, although the manufacturer says it supports it. It is not
a hardware problem, I have the same camera 2 times and I tried
different port and computers. It even happens on different machines.
The port definitely supports USB 2.0, I have verified that with
   another USB device.

That causes that the bandwidth is not enough for the higher
resolutions. This results in a faulty image in certain applications
   like Firefox or Microsoft Edge.

Ineffective: Use another USB port, use another camera (same model) on the
same machine

   * What was the outcome of this action?
Same situation, camera only uses USB 1.1. Picture disturbed, camera not
usable with high resolution.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
The camera should use USB 2.0 to provide enough bandwidth.

Bug#1022026: rlinetd: rlinet starts before IPv6 address is available

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
I use rlinetd to start a deamon on the IPv6 ULA address. Sometimes it
give a message that it can't bind to that address. If I restart the
service, it works. It sometimes starts before the IPv6 address is
available to the system, maybe because of DAD.

failed for service printer_tcp: Die angeforderte Adresse kann nicht zugewiesen
werden
The requested address cannot be assigned.

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
rlinetd should start after all addresses are avaialbe and DAD
 finished.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
The specific service could not be started.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
The specific service can bind to the assigned address.

Bug#1018776: linux-image-5.18.0-4-686-pae Kernel panic on Pentium 3 and Athlon XP

2022-08-30 Thread Marco Moock
Package: src:linux
Version: 5.18.16-1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: m...@posteo.de

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
   Booting Kernel linux-image-5.18.0-4-686-pae on a Pentium 3 600
(Coppermine) or an Athlon XP (I can find out the exact model
number if you need). Older kernel versions work. The current
kernel works on a Pentium 4 3 GHz (I can find out the exact model
   number if you need).
   Error message: https://picr.eu/images/2022/08/29/qUlKO.jpg
   German discussion in a newsgroup:
https://de.comp.os.unix.linux.misc.narkive.com/JzfZxhgj/kernelpanic-5-18-0-4-686-pae-attempted-to-kill-the-idle-task
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Booting this specific kernel, older kernels work.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   Kernel panic, can't boot system.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Booting the system the nromal way on the specified hardware.
