Bug#543425: apt-get silently ignores typo'd flag -o Dir::Etc:Preferences (should be -o Dir::Etc::Preferences)

2009-08-24 Thread Mark Painter
Package: apt
Version: 0.7.9ubuntu17.2
Severity: normal

Running something like 'apt-get -o Dir::Etc:Preferences=/etc/foo/preferences
dist-upgrade' will silently ignore the typo and use /etc/apt/preferences.

It would be much nicer if there was at least a warning about the incorrect
flag, or perhaps bailing out.

Bug#537785: Requesting that mysql data directory be set via debconf

2009-07-20 Thread Mark Painter
Package: myql-server-5.0
Version: 5.0.83-1
Severity: wishlist

I would find it helpful if the mysql datadir could be set in debconf, so that I
could do things like preseed it at install time.

Thanks,
Mark

Bug#500988: 500988 also affects apt-ftparchive

2008-12-15 Thread Mark Painter
This will also cause apt-ftparchive to fail on a deb complaining that
it has no debian-binary member. The patch in the bug resolves this
problem as well.
