Hi Maximiliano,

Very happy for this package to remain with kde-extras, I personally don't
have time to maintain it.

Hope it can get some love soon.

get some additional capacity, I can continue to contribute through DP.

Bug#728452: opal: FTBFS if $HOME does not exist

2014-10-21 Thread Mark Purcell
I am trying to fix this bug. Where is the debian repository
corresponding to opal v10, used to package opal 3.10.10? As far as I see,
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-voip/opal/ contains only trunk (opal
v12 in experimental), not the stable opal (v10).

Eugen,

It should be under branches, but it looks like it hasn't been created yet.

I would just copy from tags to branches to create the initial branch.

Wookey,

This is the right place for discussion about getting mythtv into Debian.

Thanks for this work it looks useful but I won't be able to have good look
for a few days.

The two critical issues are :

1. Does it build against the Depends from Debian only, and

2. Does all the code within the upstream mythtv base meet the DFSG?

We have a team setup on alioth.debian.org called pkg-mythtv which hasn't
seen a lot of attention recent days, including an svn archive. Please login

That would be a good place for you contributions to be stored.

Did you upgrade KDE SC at the same time, if so from what version?

Have you restarted KDE since the upgrade? We have a persistent issue with

Rainer,

I see you have also filed a report with upstream, so have noted the Debian bug
as forwarded.

There has been very little change between your upgraded versions (3.4 - 3.5),
as this was a maintenance release, I believe 5 bugs were fixed:
https://bugs.kde.org/buglist.cgi?f1=cf_versionfixedino1=equalsquery_format=advancedbug_status=RESOLVEDbug_status=NEEDSINFObug_status=VERIFIEDbug_status=CLOSEDv1=3.5.0product=digikamproduct=digikamimagepluginsproduct=kipipluginsproduct=showfoto

There have also been no other reports of albums disappearing, although 3.5 has
been available since 10 October, so I have set the severity of your report to
important.

I would imagine it has to do with the location of your digikam4.db file, is
that located in your Pictures directory and have you changed this? I would
recommend you check the quality of these databases, especially your backup
before you used digikam/3.5:
http://userbase.kde.org/Digikam/Check_Database

Your tags can also be located in digikam4.db, unless you choose to store them
in each picture file.

I'll let the digikam team provide you some further assistance via 327337.

Maarten,

I do not see this as a showstopper to uploading.

sflphone also includes an embedded copy of pjproject. There is merit in
having one master version of pjproject in Debian for a whole slew of
reasons, and I therefore support the efforts under #708122.

Interest in asterisk has waned since the wheezy freeze, but I would intend
to upload asterisk-11.4 and then fix issues through subsequent uploads,
rather than waiting for perfection which may never come.

However, that has generally been my approach to pkg-voip, release early,
release often, push issues upstream. Others may prefer a more
considered approach to uploads.

Please don't report segfaults with deb-multimedia packages, they are
unsupported by Debian and in fact were not used to build the linphone package.

We have seen lots of segfaults in different packages by mixing and matching
libraries from difference repos.

Can I ask you to install the libavutil from wheezy and report if you are still
having this issue.

However I have been advised that there are some bashisms in my bug script

Do you perhaps have /bin/sh redirected to something other than bash, such as

/etc/yate/providers.conf is installed as a conffile:

Installing new version of config file /etc/yate/providers.conf ...

This only happens during distupgrades from squeeze to wheezy,
 I couldn't reproduce on a plain install.

The issue we have is providers.conf was originally shipped in yate-core/stable
and then was moved to a better package in yate-qt4/unstable.

So while it is installed as a confflile, it is overwriting a conffile from
another
package, which I have handled via Breaks/ Conflicts (See Bug: #666883).

Do you have advice on how I can handle the change of package for a conffile and

Catherine,

The problem was only first reported on the 28 Sep 12 with severity normal, just

Speex 1.2~rc1-1 was uploaded[1] to Debian in 2008 and has been very stable,
popcon reports[2] libspeex in the top 400 packages in Debian with over 70,000
recorded installations.

Just two days ago the severity of this report was raised to serious.

Given the stability of the library, there have been very limited serious
reports for over 4 years, and the large install base it is very prudent to
verify and query the issues identified, before introduction of a patch and
potential changes to over 70,000 Debian users who have not reported this

Ron, has, quite rightly asked for moreinfo to satisfy his due dillience

Guillaume,

It is not always permitted to link gpl code with ssl unless upstream provides
a license exception:

http://lintian.debian.org/tags/possible-gpl-code-linked-with-openssl.html

The GPL (including version 3) is incompatible with some terms of the

See the changelog and bug 689004.

Eric,

I seem to be unable to email you directly, all email returns with a 550 error,
so I will continue to utilise the BTS.

digikam/experimental is installable now (see below), but it does conflict with
kdegraphics/unstable. It installs fine and is a fully usable package (contary
to your assertions), and some users wish to utilise the latest upstream
release, which is why I have uploaded to experimental.

However, you are correct that this is not an acceptable long terms solution
and is a release critical bug and should not be brought into unstable, hence
why it is uploaded to experimental. Upstream has a peculiar approach where
they start utilising newer components of kdegraphics. Again you are correct
this is not the debian way and is not a sensible approach to packaging. We
also had exactly the same issue with the release of digikam/2.0 which was
using unreleased features from kdegraphics/4.7. The workaround we used then,
and are using now is to make the bleeding edge package available via
experimenal, whilst maintaining the fully compatible package via unstable.

So debian users have a number of choices:

1. Bleeding edge digikam/3.0. In which case they can install via
experimental but cannot utilise kdegraphics/4.8.

2. Integrated digikam/2.6 kdegraphics/4.8. In which case they can install
from unstable/ testing and shortly stable.. Once stable is released I will
likley release digikam/2.9 to unstable/testing.

3. Roll their own.

I think this is a perfectly reasonable approach, which I understand you are
not happy with. However I would refer you to the headline for experimental
packages:

http://packages.debian.org/experimental/digikam

Package: digikam (4:3.0.0~beta1a-1)

Warning: This package is from the experimental distribution. That means
it is likely unstable or buggy, and it may even cause data loss. Please
be sure to consult the changelog and other possible documentation before
using it.

the latest Kopete built with ortp, as both now make use GNU ZRTP in
Fedora. It surely applies to Debian as well (and arch, etc...)...

This is the relevant interum patch, for ucommon 5.2.2:

libcv-dev transition package should also depend on libopencv-dev as that is
now where the CMake configuration files are located.

This has caused digikam to FTBFS (Bug #674325).

Simon,

In 2006 you filed the same bug report:

Since then we have _not_ shipped ilbc in Debian, until this year when Google
purchased iLBC from GlobalIP solutions and re-licensed.

We should perhaps include something in the debian/copyright saying this is now
free.
