Bug#754857: Acknowledgement (linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64: Sporadic kernel crashes)

2014-09-10 Thread Markus Rechberger
Please see following link:

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75521

It's a Linux USB stack kernel bug related with xhci and currently in
progress, it has nothing to do with the userspace drivers those
drivers even make it easier to debug.

I am using a USB SundTek DVB-C tuner, with user space drivers. When ever I

Bug#575065: USBFS Bug (Linux Kernel =2.6.32.9 =2.6.33)

2010-03-23 Thread Markus Rechberger
Package: linux-image
Version: 2.6.32

a USBFS bug slipped in with those Kernelreleases.

http://lkml.org/lkml/2010/2/26/490 (Report)
http://lkml.org/lkml/2010/2/27/226 (Bugfix)

The returned data from the kernel to userspace is invalid. This breaks
VMWare, Qemu, Virtualbox USB Passthrough and sane/some scanners
possibly.. just about everything that uses USB from userspace.

please add the recommended bugfix, this issue is already fixed with 2.6.34

Markus

Bug#550372: virtualbox-3.0: USB does not work without /proc/bus/usb

2009-10-09 Thread Markus Rechberger
Hi,

2009/10/10 Martin Michlmayr t...@cyrius.com:
 * Mikołaj Menke m...@menek.one.pl [2009-10-09 23:56]:
 What does
     dpkg -p virtualbox-3.0 | grep Maintainer:
say?  Because I cannot see this package in Debian.

 Maintainer: Sun Microsystems, Inc. i...@virtualbox.org

Oh well, then you know who to talk to.

 There's a virtualbox-ose 3.0.6-dfsg-1 package in Debian testing.  Can
 you try that?

when reporting this virtualbox should really look up the usbids
through /dev/bus/usb nowadays. /proc/bus/usb is fading away

Best Regards,
Markus

Seems like it is not looking up through /dev/bus/usb. When I umount
/proc/bus/usb nothing changes and USB still does not work.

yes this can very easily be the case. usbview has the same problem
it's also still
looking in /proc/bus/usb (but note it has been depreciated to use this path).
I think it was default with 2.6.18 (a very long time ago) but it
changed to /dev/bus/usb

Bug#341997: php4: child pid xxxx exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

2005-12-05 Thread Markus Rechberger
how about an apache2 coredump?

gdb apachebinary corefile might show up what causes the segfault.

Do the segfaults happen if you disable the extension=mysql.so line in
/etc/php4/apache2/php.ini? If you disable mod-perl? If you disable
 php4-apd?
