Bug#753653: RFP: tmsu -- command-line file tagging tooI and tag-based virtual filesystem
* Martin Gollowitzer mgollowit...@sipwise.com [140710 14:54, mID 20140710124056.ga6...@selenium.sipwise.com]: I'd also like to see TMSU in Debian. It's a great tool and actively developed. However, packaging TMSU will require golang-go-sqlite3 [1] and golang-go-fuse [2] first. See [3] for reference. [1] https://github.com/mattn/go-sqlite3 I have now checked the above URI and I don't think it can easily be packaged for Debian. The source files are missing proper license headers, there is no license file, just a reference in README.md. Additionally, it seems that the repo contains C source code from sqlite that was put together in one file without any license information. This needs to be fixed by upstream. Bug#559576: metacity: Window bar events go to wrong window
Hi, I'm also affected by this bug. It doesn't happen all of the time, but very frequently. I haven't found out yet what is necessary for this to happen. What might be related (although I'm not sure) is that most of the time, newly opened windows (like when I start Iceweasel or open a new window in it) are not raised to the top, but stay behind the currently opened window (which did not occur in old versions). I'm running an up-to-date version of Debian squeeze. I hope this information is helpful in some way. Thanks, Martin signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#551330: Problem solved with kernel 2.6.33 with KMS enabled
Hi, I have finally installed kernel 2.6.33 from experimental and enabled KMS. The problem has now disappeared. With disabled KMS, it is still the same. Thanks, Martin signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#551330: Updated information
Hi, * Cyril Brulebois k...@debian.org [100225 15:52]: Martin Gollowitzer go...@fsfe.org (25/02/2010): Please find the desired information below. For the 2.6.32 kernel, please. :) The idea is to track down the regression. Since you don't run it, you could use that instead: $ dpkg -l 'linux-image-2.6.32*'|grep ^ii|awk '{print $2 $3}' As with yesterday's weekly upgrade of my system there came a new 2.6.32 kernel package, I tried it again today. The system now doesn't get stuck at the login screen anymore. The mouse pointer is now visible on my internal screen, but not on the external one. However, Xorg gets 100% cpu load when I switch between two windows. My kernel version is: Linux wingback 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 #1 SMP Sun Jan 10 22:40:40 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux The dpkg command above gives: linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-amd64 2.6.32-5 I will again have to stick with 2.6.31 for the moment as these cpu load peaks are not really something I want to live with. Thanks, Martin signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#551330: Updated information
Hi, * Cyril Brulebois k...@debian.org [100226 17:13]: Could you please check with 2.6.32-9 from sid? The one you have is indeed the latest… in squeeze (which I was fearing somehow). sid's would be linux-image-2.6.32-3-amd64; many X-related regressions got fixed between -5 and -9. I just tried it. Same issues here. When switching windows, CPU load bursts up (at least on one core). Mouse pointer is shown on internal screen only. I have to switch to a VT and back or open a terminal and type somethnig to make it appear again. I guess I will look into 2.6.33 from experimental as the next step. * Brice Goglin brice.gog...@ens-lyon.org [100225 10:29]: Which kernel do you use right now ? Make sure you try the *latest* 2.6.32 package in unstable or even a 2.6.33 kernel. 2.6.32 does not work at all. At gdm login screen, the field for username is black instead of white and I can't do anything. I'm using 2.6.31 from unstable right now. Are there packages for 2.6.33 available or do I need to build it myself? Thanks, Martin signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Hi, I don't know if this helps in finding the actual problem, but when I enable KMS, this bug disappears. Since KMS breaks other things, I can't use it at the moment. All the best, Martin signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#567318: xrandr -q
Hi Samuel, * Samuel Hym samuel@gmail.com [100223 19:37]: Hello, Same problem, with a weirder remark to make: I don't get the segfault if I run xrandr -q to check the result after the modifying xrandr (noticed thanks to arandr which follows this behaviour). Bug#564588: gnome-control-center: Keybindings only work when a window is shown
Package: gnome-control-center Version: 1:2.28.1-1 Severity: important I'm filing this bug against gnome-control-center since I do not really know which package is actually causing it, but the gnome-control-center is where I start from when changing keybindings. The situation is as follows: If I have no visible windows on my GNOME desktop, all of my keybindings stop to work. This happens when either no windows are open at all or all windows are minimized. So if for example I minimize the last window, I can't call it back by pressing Alt+Tab. The keybindings I use most are Alt+F3 (Open Terminal), Alt+F11 (open e-mail client) and Alt+F12 (start web browser) and none of them work in the situation described above. I can't lock the screen by pressing Ctrl+Alt+L either. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (400, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-control-center depends on: ii capplets-data 1:2.28.1-1 configuration applets for GNOME - ii desktop-file-utils 0.15-2 Utilities for .desktop files ii gnome-desktop-data 2.28.2-1 Common files for GNOME desktop app ii gnome-icon-theme2.28.0-1 GNOME Desktop icon theme ii gnome-menus 2.28.0.1-1 an implementation of the freedeskt ii gnome-settings-daemon 2.28.1-1 daemon handling the GNOME session ii libatk1.0-0 1.28.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.10.2-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.8.8-2 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libcanberra-gtk00.22-1 Gtk+ helper for playing widget eve ii libcanberra00.22-1 a simple abstract interface for pl ii libdbus-glib-1-20.82-2 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libebook1.2-9 2.28.2-1 Client library for evolution addre ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype62.3.11-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgconf2-4 2.28.0-1 GNOME configuration database syste ii libglib2.0-02.22.3-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-desktop-2-11 2.28.2-1 Utility library for loading .deskt ii libgnome-window-settings1 1:2.28.1-1 Utility library for getting window ii libgnomekbd42.28.2-1 GNOME library to manage keyboard c ii libgtk2.0-0 2.18.3-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libmetacity-private01:2.28.0-3 library for the Metacity window ma ii libpango1.0-0 1.26.2-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libslab0a 2.27.91-1beautification app library file ii libunique-1.0-0 1.1.6-1 Library for writing single instanc ii libx11-62:1.3.2-1X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.10-1 X cursor management library ii libxft2 2.1.14-1 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxi6 2:1.2.1-2X11 Input extension library ii libxklavier15 4.0-2X Keyboard Extension high-level AP ii libxml2 2.7.6.dfsg-1 GNOME XML library ii libxss1 1:1.1.3-1X11 Screen Saver extension library Versions of packages gnome-control-center recommends: ii bzip2 1.0.5-3high-quality block-sorting file co pn evolution-data-server none (no description available) ii gnome-session 2.28.0-4 The GNOME Session Manager ii gnome-user-guide 2.28.2-1 GNOME user's guide ii policykit-1-gnome 0.95-1 GNOME authentication agent for Pol Versions of packages gnome-control-center suggests: ii gnome-screensaver2.28.0-1+b1 GNOME screen saver and locker ii gstreamer0.10-alsa [gstreame 0.10.25-7 GStreamer plugin for ALSA ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad [g 0.10.17-1 GStreamer plugins from the bad s ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-good [ 0.10.17-1 GStreamer plugins from the good ii gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio [gs 0.10.17-1 GStreamer plugin for PulseAudio ii libcanberra-gtk-module 0.22-1 translates Gtk+ widgets signals to ii x11-xserver-utils7.5+1 X server utilities -- no debconf information smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature
Bug#561271: Release date for debian package
Hi all, Is there already a planned date for the release of a gnome-do 0.8.3 Debian package? The bug described by Kai affects me heavily, Do eats up 100% of my CPU at every startup and not only once in a while, so an update would be highly appreciated :) I could of course build Gnome Do myself, but I would prefer to receive it via a lovely apt-get call :) Thanks, Martin signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#551330: Same here; Bug #550942 seems to be the same
Hi all, I have recently installed Debian testing and I've been affected by this bug from the beginning. I will try Christophe Lohr's workaround in the nex days. By the way, I think Bug #550942 is caused by exactly this problem since the symptoms are the same and Jakob Lell reports that the mouse pinter will reappear after some time: After a few minutes (and moving the mouse) the mouse pointer appears again. As a workaround, the mouse pointer usually appears quiet quickly when starting the command Xnest :1 and moving the mouse a lot.
