Bug#853783: Failed to open hpaio:/net/HP_Color_Laserjet_MFP_M277DW?ip=194.168.1.4: Error during device I/O
I am using Ubuntu 16.04.2. Kernel Version 4.8.0-52-generic #55~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 28 14:36:29 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux sage@z620:~$ scanimage -L device `brother4:net1;dev0' is a Brother DCP-9022CDW DCP-9022CDW device `hpaio:/net/HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M277dw?ip=192.168.178.29' is a Hewlett-Packard HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M277dw all-in-one Before the installation of the Brother DCP-9022CDW, the HP MFP_M277 scanner ran perfectly fine. Now, The HP is no more working, but the Brother scanner does. Both devices are connected via network. I just ran into that bug report, when I was trying to solve the HP problem after brscan4 installation and thought maybe it helps. I already informed Brother Company about this issues and hope they are working on a bug fix of their driver. I am also trying to give this machine back to the reseller, it prints terrible with Linux as well, compared to the HP, which does a fantastic job. I have pretty much the same Problem. However, First everything worked
very well (Ubuntu 16.04.2) until I installed a Brother Scanner Driver
brscan4 with the Machine DCP-9022CDW. Now I get:
