Bug#781118: [slime] Purging the package leaves behind a confguration file causing problems for local slime installation
Hi Milan, I tried installing slime again and curiously, it doesn't install that file (/etc/emacs/site-start.d/50slime.el) at all. That of course means I can't test purging it either. Not sure what that means now - is the file no longer used by the package? Package: slime Version: 2:2.10.1-3 Severity: important --- Please enter the report below this line. --- Hi, when the slime package is uninstalled and purged, it leaves behind the /etc/emacs/site-start.d/50slime.el config file. Bug#392342: wodim: Fails to append session to a multisession disk started with cdrecord
Package: wodim Version: 5:1.0~pre4-1.1 Severity: normal I have several multisession CDs started with cdrecord. I have migrated to wodin on my system and now I am not able to append more sessions to those CDs. I use the k3b frontend and it does find the previous sessions on the CD. On Saturday 22 July 2006 12:05, Mike Hommey wrote: You can forget that. I know *have* reproduced the problem. I bet your /usr/lib is a symlink to /opt/lib and you have no similar thing for /usr/share. Which implies all the links in /opt/lib/firefox that link to ../../share are dangling symlinks. Man, you are right!!! I can't believe that! I'm afraid we're not going to support broken setups. Of course I didn't know that there are relative links in /usr/lib that will be broken by me moving the stuff to /opt/lib and symlinking from /usr. Thanks a lot, and sorry for the false alarm. Could you try to 'debsums -a -c firefox' (first install the debsums package if needed) ? Please give us any message that it would return. Did that, no messages. Please then try to 'apt-get remove --purge firefox' and return the list of files that 'find /usr/lib/firefox' would give you. Then removed and purged the firefox and firefox-dbg packages. An update: * I am not running scim * I did try safe mode and a clean user - didn't help * firefox seems to work to certain extent, e.g. I can run firefox --help or firefox -v and get results in the shell as expected. * Are you sure about the symlink you suggested to create? Doesn't seem to make much sense to me - the specified directories don't exist. What was the link meant to do? * Still couldn't debug firefox due to the problem mentioned in the previous point. Package: firefox Version: 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.4-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable When I try to start Firefox the process disappears after a few seconds with no error messages and without the GUI appearing at all.
