Bug#533100: [xine-ui] segfaults on fleshly muxed mkv file

2009-06-14 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: xine-ui
Version: 0.99.5+cvs20070914-2.1
Severity: normal

Hello,

I recoded an dvd to mpeg4 avc and muxed the streams (AC3, MPEG4 (H264), Vobsub)
into an matroska file.

The resulting file has a size of 2,6GB and I can play it in totem-gstreamer
(without subs) and mplayer, but xine-ui fails.

Not sure whether the backtrace helps:

Hey,

when Rhythmbox starts, it scan my music directory (so far this is what I
want), but in that directory not only conatins music files. So now
everytime on startup I get comlains about missing plugins for gstreamer.

For media files I would expect this, but these files are not to be played by

Bug#507991: [eog] Crashes when trying to save write protected file

2009-03-19 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Hey,

excuse the late reply. I'm digging through a pile of emails. But yes, I
can reproduce it with (now) 2.24.3.1-1. I was able to get a backtrace
now:

Bug#517295: [hal] Hal fails recognising big disk (1.5 TB)

2009-02-26 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: hal
Version: 0.5.11-8
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

I got two big (1.5 TB) disks and tried to use them on my system. I
prepared them to be used as crypted volumes (luks) and read several
articles claiming, that in gnome I would be automaticly prompted to
enter the password.

Well it failed. Two hours later I had tracked the problem down so far,
that hal didn't even produce entries for the partitions.

This in turn lead me to the ubuntu packages. There is a patch
02_long_storage_size_patch fixes this. I got the sources for the debian
packages, added this patch and ... it worked!

I think this should go into debian as well.

Thanks in advance

Matthias

Bug#444874: [network-manager-openvpn] nm-openvpn still sets default route without being asked

2009-01-14 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: network-manager-openvpn
Version: 0.7.0-1

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello,

the bug is still there in 0.7 and makes the package unsable (for me at
least). The bug lies on the nm side, as the openvpn connection initiated
by hand does not push any routes, which is expected!

At least for my sister a gui programm would be nice, I will revert back
to shell scripts, which currently prove to be far more reliable.

It would be nice, if this could be fixed.

Greetings

Matthias

Bug#507991: [eog] Crashes when trying to save write protected file

2008-12-06 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: eog
Version: 2.24.1-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

eog just gave me the problem, that it crashed without an obvious reason.
Some investigation revealed, that it crashed, when trying to save a
write protected file. Adding write permissions allowed me to save the
image without a crash.

This is the backtrace from bugbuddy:

Bug#506906: [evolution] evolutions ssl certificate warnings are less than usefull

2008-11-25 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: evolution
Version: 2.22.3.1-1
Severity: normal
Tags: security
X-Debbugs-CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

I was confronted with evoltions ssl certificate check. It just took me
almost half an hour to realise, that the host name didn't match - great
why didn't evolution tell me this?

At least I would have expected a real error message and not just the
presentation of the basic infos of the offending certificate.

Even better: Display the certificat info in a meaningful way, state the
error and allow the user to accept the certificate.

Thanks in advance

Matthias

PS: I declared this a security bug, because the current behaviour is
just useless and make the user react lax to security warnings.

Bug#444767: HTTP Response 302 with body slows firefox massivly down

  Hey,

egroupware showed very long login times for our setup, where it was
configured to run over ssl (tests without SSL didn't show this error). I
thought I would hunt a bug in egroupware, but then I tested with
  links-ssl, konquerer, IE7, ... and got normal times (~ 6s). With
firefox/iceweasel/epiphany(the gecko version) I get time ranging from
12s to 24s (most request take approx. 24s).

So at some point I installed LiveHeaders and saw that the get requests
after a 302 Redirect took approx 15s to complete. So I had a look at the
redirect function of egroupware. This is not optimal, but at least for
the apache case we have it does this:

Create a Location Header with the new url and an empty body only
containing two \n. Well these broke firefox/iceweasel. I commented them
out and it now the times are down to ~6s also on iceweasel.

According to the RFC (2616) a message-body should be send along with the
header. So Iceweasel should not stall because of this.

I have hard time believing this is the problem. Is it still the same
 with Iceweasel 3.0?

actually I could not believe it either, but the measurements at that
time were unmistakable. I can't reproduce it anymore, as the installed
version was fixed (the old package was lost in the time since then) and
the egroupware from lenny works flawlessly with Iceweasel 3.0.

Lack of time does not allow me to build an environment to experiment
with an old firefox and an old egroupsware setup or a test script.

So feel free to close this bug as unreproducible.

Greetings

Matthias

Bug#503641: [gvfs-backends] ssh backend does bogus permission mapping

2008-10-27 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: gvfs-backends
Version: 0.2.5-1.1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

the permission mapping of the gvfs ssh backend looks bogus. This is the
listing of the directory on the server:

[EMAIL
PROTECTED]:/var/www/main/administrator/components/com_displaystatementcomponent$
 ls -lh
insgesamt 20K
-rw-rw-r-- 1 mblaesing mblaesing 650 26. Okt 23:02
displaystatementcomponent.php
-rw-rw-r-- 1 www-data www-data45 26. Okt 21:12 index.html
-rw-rw-r-- 1 www-data www-data 364 26. Okt 21:12 install.sql
-rw-rw-r-- 1 mblaesing mblaesing 1,1K 26. Okt 21:56 install.xml
-rw-rw-r-- 1 www-data www-data45 26. Okt 21:12 uninstall.sql
[EMAIL
PROTECTED]:/var/www/main/administrator/components/com_displaystatementcomponent$

And (here especially important):
uid=1000(mblaesing) gid=1000(mblaesing)
Gruppen=4(adm),33(www-data),1000(mblaesing),1002(sshuser),1003(beamerthemefsc),1004(sitzungsprotokollng),1006(filevault),1007(webalizer),1008(gammusync)

As you can see - I'm member of the www-data group - so I expect
read-write access on any file in the listing. No compare this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/.gvfs/SFTP auf X/var/www/main/administrator/components$
ls -lh com_displaystatementcomponent
insgesamt 1,5K
-rw--- 1 mblaesing mblaesing 650 26. Okt 23:02
displaystatementcomponent.php
-r 1 mblaesing mblaesing 45 26. Okt 21:12 index.html
-r 1 mblaesing mblaesing 364 26. Okt 21:12 install.sql
-rw--- 1 mblaesing mblaesing 1,1K 26. Okt 21:56 install.xml
-r 1 mblaesing mblaesing 45 26. Okt 21:12 uninstall.sql
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/.gvfs/SFTP auf X/var/www/main/administrator/components$

The same happens for the directory permissions - so basicly nautilus is
useless on the whole tree, as I can only sensibly access files/dirs,
that belong to me.

I thing the ssh method should map the permissions to what the user on
the server machine would expect. In my case I would expect 0600 for each
file.

Greetings

Matthias

Bug#497412: [evolution] Starting second instance of evolution superseeds manually set network status

2008-09-01 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: evolution
Version: 2.22.3.1-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

as network manager still insists, that I'm offline while having a
connection via UMTS, I have to force the network status in evolution to
on at startup. This would be ok (apart from bug #496251), but when a
second instance of evolution is started, the network status is reverted
to offline (not only for the new instance, but also for the already
running one).

I'm not surprised, that both instances switch to offline mode (this is
logical), but that it superseeds my manual config.

Thanks

Matthias

It is.. There should be a point in the Menu Devices called Install Guest

thanks for the advice. I would have sworn that I tried this and was not
offered that option. I checked again and - well ... it indeed does.

Maybe last time I missed something in the config when switching from the

So big thanks and please close this bug!

Bug#493491: [virtualbox-ose] make it possible to install VirtualBox guest Additions

2008-08-02 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: virtualbox-ose
Severity: wishlist

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

I'm currently using the non-ose version of VirtualBox directly from sun.
This is mainly because I really like mouse integration feature of the
VirtualBox guest additions.

I had a look at the license file and in §2 section 2 I read, that I/you
would be allowed to redistribute an unmodified version of the ISO. This
would certainly not qualify for inclusion in main, but should non-free
not the right place for a package just containing this ISO or an
installer for it?

Thanks

Hey,

I gave me-tv another try and I got much, much snappier. But I don't know
whether this is because of changes in the software or because I changed
hardware (from Pentium M 1.8 to Dual Core 2.4). So basicly - I'm happy
now ;-)

Bug#488645: evince can't open PDF, that was save by Save a copy

Hey,

evince seenms to mess with a document, when you request to save a copy.
You can see this behaviour with this document:

http://www.dfn.de/fileadmin/3Beratung/Betriebstagungen/bt45/PKI-BT-Token.pdf

Open this file and save it as a copy. The original PDF can be viewed,
while the copy only produces white pages.

Bug#479322: [evince] Printing an open page range (20-) breaks

2008-05-04 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: evince
Version: 2.20.2-1+b1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

I just tried to print a pdf document and noticed something very strange.
It was a 57 pages document. I wanted to print the pages following page
20. So I specified: 20- as page range. I got this:

GLib-ERROR **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.16.3/glib/gmem.c:136: failed to
allocate 4294967220 bytes

Specifing 20-57 worked surprisingly. The two cases should work equally -
I think.

I tried this with version 2.22.1.1 and it seems to work. Can you give it
 a try (it's in experimental)?

tried it, and it worked - so when 2.22.1.1 reaches unstable I think the
bug can be closed.

Thank you!

Bug#466777: Eats a lot of cpu and blocks gui

2008-02-21 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Hey Michael,

I'll try the new version (not sure though whether it will be possible
before saturday. Thanks! One comment though:

Am Donnerstag, den 21.02.2008, 22:39 +1100 schrieb Michael Lamothe:

The EPG reader _is_ in a separate thread but GTK is not multi-thread
safe, it is however multi-thread aware. The issue is that GTK really
only allows 1 thread to update the UI at a time, that's why it appears
to lock-up. I've made the EPG update yield its lock more regularly
which I think gets around this issue.

Why not switch from multiple threads to multiple processes. As I
understand some processing of the EPG data is necessary. So do that in
another threat an let the two processes communicate via a pipe or a
socket. These two can be monitored by an gobject watch and you don't
have to deal with threading locks.

Not sure thought whether this would be trivial to be changed.

Bug#466777: Eats a lot of cpu and blocks gui

2008-02-20 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: me-tv
Version: 0.5.17-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

me-tv is a very nice programm. But currently I'm faced with two big
problems. The first might be unavoidable. The first is the high cpu
utilisation when a new channel is selected. I asume this happens when
the epg data is parsed. It would be nice if this utilisation could be
reduced.

The real problem is, that the gui blocks, when a new channel is
selected. This should not happen - the epg data parsing could be done in
a seperate thread or (maybe easier) in a child process.

I attached a log - the whole time after the channel was tuned in
(directly at the beginning), the gui was not usable.

Greetings

Matthias

Bug#448831: resuming stopped printer blocks X11

2008-01-20 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: gnome-cups-manager
Version: 0.31-3
Severity: grave

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hi,

using gnome-cups-manager to restart a stopped printer leads on my system
not to no reaction, but instead to the complete lockup of X. The server
part is still running (the cursor gets updated on mouse movement), but
all client processes seem to be blocked (no drawing updated to panel and
desktop for example.

As this could cause massive dataloss (for example in the case of unsaved
open documents) I raise the severity to grave.

Greetings

Bug#424909: Release of bug ownership

2008-01-13 Thread Matthias Bläsing
noowner 424909
thanks

Hello,

as my sponsor (or the person, that could upload the ready package is
called) essentially ignores the ready package, I'm dropping the
ownership of this wnpp.

I thought long enough about it and I'm quite disappointed. I did massive
changes, to bring the package up to shape. The result: NONE! My sponsor
(this is the person supposed to upload the packages from packagers not
beeing DD or DM) seems to be unable / does not want to upload.

I won't have time to play silly Would you please be kind enough to
process my package?! Please! Please! games in the coming months. In
review I think it's better this way. I will create debs for all
platforms I have access to and maybe I'm successfull in setting up
qemubuilder.

So - it could have been an entry point into the debian project - no its
a possible reason to look elsewhere.

Matthias

PS: Yes - I'm pissed

Hello,

I think eog should determine the file format by using the magic codes,
if the direct approach via the extension fails. I had the situation,
that I hat a png, that was named problem.jpg. This is what I got:

Bild »problem.jpg« konnte nicht geöffnet werden.

Fehler beim Lesen einer JPEG-Bilddatei (Not a JPEG file: starts with

And translated:

Picture »problem.jpg« could not be opened.

Ironicly nautilus happly produced a thumbnail.

The only difference I see is the diffent libgwenhywfar, the old one
linking against libssl, while the new one links agains gnutls.

I had a similiar problem, when I linked curlftpfs against gnutls.
Switching it back to openssl fixed that. Currently curlftpfs also works
with gnutls again. But the error shown above is the same, as I had to
suffer from.

I'm not sure whether this error shouldn't even reach the application or
whether it should be handled on the ssl-library level, but currently
this makes libgwenhywfar unusable.

Thanks in advance

Hey Micha,

that was easy ;-) I read the message on the devel mailinglist directly
prior to your email and yeah! That makes it work!

That makes me think what's going wrong. The error messages are printed
none the less - so there seems to be something strange happening inside
the gnutls libs. As far as I understood the concept of SSL, the initial
handshake should eliminate the necessity of user interaction with
respect to the right crypto algorithm.

But thanks again for the help - thanks a lot!

Bug#457990: lookup name fails (dbus api works)

2007-12-27 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: python-bluez
Version: 0.9.2-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello,

I'm migrating away from the python-bluetooth api. One of the things that
were still directly using bluez via the python bindings were the lookup
of the device name:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ python
Python 2.4.4 (#2, Aug 16 2007, 02:03:40)
[GCC 4.1.3 20070812 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-15)] on linux2
Type help, copyright, credits or license for more information.
 import bluetooth
 bluetooth.lookup_name('00:1D:28:72:38:BC', 1)

as you can see this does not work any longer.

The dbus api works as expected:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dbus-send --system --type=method_call
--print-reply --dest=org.bluez /org/bluez/hci0
org.bluez.Adapter.GetRemoteName string:'00:1D:28:72:38:BC'
method return sender=:1.4 - dest=:1.167 reply_serial=2
   string K810i
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

Thanks

Matthias

Bug#424909: Update

2007-12-18 Thread Matthias Bläsing
owner 424909 !
thanks

Hey,

as the upstream author I don't see any problem. The server part running
on the pc is written in python and licences GPLv2 - no problem there.

The j2me part has to be build by me, as there is now free wtk out there.
And even if there would be one - depending on the interest in lbrc I
might get a certificate to sign the builds of lbrc, so a user can allow
it's java sandbox to always allow bluetooth access (without the
signature the user can only allow it for the run of lbrc). And this
certificate can't be provided to debian. You/the maintainer can also
split the client part into an non-free part (although I would consider
my GPLv2ed client as free as in free-speech) and a free part - the have
the server part Recommend the non-free part, as I understand a free
packages can't Depend on a non-free package.

The main argument Patrick mentioned were security considerations. These
are not valid, as the server part can be modified without problems. The
client part can only cause security problems on the phone. IF this would
happen, it would be a serious flaw in the j2me implementation of the
phone, as each java programm is contained inside a sandbox and can only
access files+bluetooth when the user enables it to do so. So: Someone
breaking in through lbrc into a phone would primarily expose a bug in
the j2me engine.

Greetings

Matthias

Bug#327845: compression issue?

2007-12-07 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Hey Andreas,

thanks for the message. I just tested fusedav and davfs2(build against
libneon26 with gnutls) against the same server I mentioned in the
report. As the server is a debian stable system, I asume, that not that
much can have changed on the server side.

Now I can view every picture (or at least all of a semi random
selection). Great!

Greetings

Matthias

Bug#451718: Update to 010.15 breaks mp3 playing

2007-11-17 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: gstreamer0.10-plugins-base
Version: 0.10.14-4
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hello,

upgrading to the 0.10.15 version of gstreamer0.10-plugins-base breaks
totem and rhythmbox when playing mp3 files. I tried using gst-launch to
narrow the search and it seams to be a problem in the decodebin:

0

/pipeline0/decodebin0/id3demux0.sink: caps = NULL
/pipeline0/decodebin0/typefind.src: caps = NULL

When running it with id3demux inserted by hand:

0

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gst-launch -v filesrc location=Music/Jürgen\ von\ der\
Lippe\ -\ Der\ Lehrer.mp3 ! id3demux ! decodebin ! alsasink

it works ok. Downgrading to 0.10.14 fixes it and make rhythmbox and
totem play mp3 again.

Thanks in advance

Matthias

Bug#446923: tested with 1.13.95

2007-10-30 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: gammu
Version: 1.13.94-1

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

I tested again with 1.13.95 build from source and that fixes it. With
that package a short test showed, that I can access the calendar, which
seems to be impossible via syncml (at least in the usable 0.22 version).

So when 1.13.95 hits debian I will switch back from the syncml plugin to
my proof-of-concept gammu-syncml-one-way plugin ;-)

Thanks

Well, this works here. You need either to click the icon in the upper
left corner of the dialog box, or to type something starting with a
 slash.

for me this only works for a complete path to an image, but not when the
path points to a directory. So I put /usr/share/pixmaps into the entry
field, press tab and get a list of files in a drop down box. I would
expect the filechooser to change to that directory when I press enter,
but nothing happens.

Hope that clears it a bit

Bug#446781: python gammu segfaults with second config

2007-10-15 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: python-gammu

Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

I tried to use python-gammu with a second config stanza:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/t$ python
Python 2.4.4 (#2, Aug 16 2007, 02:03:40)
[GCC 4.1.3 20070812 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-15)] on linux2
Type help, copyright, credits or license for more information.
 import gammu
 sm = gammu.StateMachine()
 sm.ReadConfig(1)
 sm.Init()
Speicherzugriffsfehler
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/t$

I asume the error in python-gammu, as the stanza works:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gammu 1 --identify

Model: K810i (AAD-3022061-BV)
Firmware : x
IMEI : x

I also attached the used config.

Thanks in advance

Hey,

please have a look at the upstream bug report. Basicly I thing that the
patch I provided is not awfully well developed, but it turns a bug
hunted-feature into a noop on the affected systems. I also put an
explanation into the report, why I think, that the hole messing with the
viewport will break with xrandr setups.

Bug#444767: HTTP Response 302 with body slows firefox massivly down

2007-09-30 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: iceweasel
Version: 2.0.0.7-2
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

egroupware showed very long login times for our setup, where it was
configured to run over ssl (tests without SSL didn't show this error). I
thought I would hunt a bug in egroupware, but then I tested with
links-ssl, konquerer, IE7, ... and got normal times (~ 6s). With
firefox/iceweasel/epiphany(the gecko version) I get time ranging from
12s to 24s (most request take approx.

Greetings

Matthias

Could you please check if this bug is reproducible with the new cURL
version (7.17.0-1), that was recently uploaded to unstable. The cURL
versions 7.16.2 to 7.16.4 had a bug that made curlftpfs crash in
 several situations.

I can verify that it works with the version currently in debian unstable
(7.17.0-1). I already tried the cvs Version of curl and that also fixed
the problem - with the same result (not to surprising ;-)

Thanks

Bug#199520: metacity ignores fullscreen windows

Hello,

I have a part time dual-head setup. When I run a video on the second
screen in full screen mode (using totem or xine), I can be quite sure,
that every new window is opened under the full screen window. It seems,
that metacity ignores the window. So basicly I can't really use the
system in this mode, as I have to switch out of full screenmode, move
the window to the normal first screen and switch back to full screen
again.

Bug#439663: Quick'n'dirty fix for totem

2007-08-31 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Hey,

I don't think, that this fix will make it into totem, but this tiny
little patch (that disables all resizing functions) works like a charm:

--- /home/mblaesing/bacon-resize.c 2007-08-31 17:15:56.0 +0200
+++ src/backend/bacon-resize.c  2007-08-31 17:17:22.0 +0200

 #ifdef HAVE_XVIDMODE
int event_basep, error_basep;

+return FALSE;

XLockDisplay (GDK_DISPLAY());

Basicly this tells the system: Don't even test for xvidmode extension or
xrandr - asume they are not there.

This works for me and I'm happy again with totem.

Would you mind reporting this directly to upstream?

yeah - I will first look through the code again - I think I found the

Maybe the solution for me is temporarily deactivating this code.

Is this Xinerama or RandR 1.2? What version of the ati driver are you

RandR (not 1.2). For this specific behaviour, as this happenend with the

randr-1.2 branch. But the xorg driver emulated an Xinerama setup.

There was a bug with the head version, that disabled XV on the second

But this should not be a problem, as the resolution is changed and AFAIK

Hey,

I'm running a dual-head setup with the x.org-ati driver (radeon/r300)
and totem messes with the xrandr settings.

 1. I noticed this behaviour first when running a game in wine this

Bug#421736: Similar Problem with xfce4

2007-07-14 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: tilda
Version: 0.09.4-4

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello,

I experience a similar problem. Here I'm using XFCE4 with a panel on the
top. I configured tilda to be at the top of the screen (expecting it to
open directly under the panel). This works as expected, as long as the
open animation is enabled. As this is a sluggish on my notebook when a
video is played in parallel, I deactivated it and it opens now with an
offset of 14px below the panel (see the attached pictures).

When I open the config window, press ok without changing anything, the
window jumps to the correct location.

Bug#327845: Verfyfied with davfs2 against apache2

2007-06-13 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: libgnutls13
Version: 1.7.9-1

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

I think I hit the same bug and I'm getting frustrated. I tried to track
it down to the lib thats causing it and the main difference I can see is
the underlying SSL Library. I have a webdav server here, that serves
pictures. I tested with davfs2. The client in debian works (via
libneon26 linked against libssl), recompiling it against
libneon26-gnutls), breaks some transfers. I can view ~ half the pictures
(varying sizes).

Similiar results could be optained with fusedav (here the debian version
is linked against gnutls, which did not work, compiling from svn with
libneon (the libssl variant) worked)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Matthias

As you can see, the svn Version of fusedav recovers from the gnutls
errors, but I asume, that exposing internal Errors to the outside is not
the desired case. I could provide you with an ssl dump of the
connections (well, not these connections, but I can recreate this
situation).

Bug#428744: ne_lfs.dpatch breaks fusedav

2007-06-13 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: fusedav
Version: 0.2-1
Severity: critical

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hey,

ne_lfs.dpatch breaks the normal operation of fusedav. This is what I got
when running the package from debian:

getattr(/edit/bilder/Sommer%20Semester%202002/Proteste%20gegen%20Studiengeb%fchren/16.jpg)
CGET:

 0+16384)
release(/edit/bilder/Sommer%20Semester%202002/Proteste%20gegen%20Studiengeb%fchren/16.jpg)

I then tested svn and it worked (well I'm also hunting a problem in
gnutls, but thats another bug in another life ...). So the only
difference is (apart from differences in control and rules, the named
patch). Removing and rebuilding it gave this:

configure script of libasound2.

I changed that to /usr/lib/alsa-lib and not to suprisingly after
rebuilding it worked. So you can either patch the configure script or
pass --with-plugindir=/usr/lib/alsa-lib to the build.

Greetings

Matthias

Bug#423660: list-view: name column size to small and is not remembered

2007-05-13 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: nautilus
Version: 2.18.1-2
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hello,

I switched to list mode as default view in nautilus, as more info is
provided there. Now whenever I open a folder, all columns are big
enough/to big to hold their info - just the name column is so small,
that I don't get a clue which name might me displayed.

When I resize the column I would have expected nautilus to save the
column size, but it's always discared, which would be ok, if the
original sizing would be sensible...

Thanks in advance

Matthias

Bug#409679: Evolution does show gpg signature for email encrypted and signed by enigmail

2007-02-04 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: evolution
Version: 2.8.2.1-1

Hey,

I received an email send by thunderbird which was sent by thunderbird
with engimail. The email was encrypted _and_ signed.

Saving the message and running it through gpg decrypted it and reported
it signed. BUT opening the message in evolution only marks it encrypted,
but not signed.

Mfg

Thanks for you replay -- yes that was the problem. I didn't realize,
that there was an option to hide the selection. That realy make the
fullscreen mode useful.

This bug should then be marked closed, not-a-bug or whatever is
appropriate.

Thanks again

Bug#404550: Build available for testing

2006-12-29 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Hello John,

I don't know, why this slipped through my testing...

The rcargv index starts at 1, so when running till 0 we try to free a
string never set. We have to stop at index 1.

So please change the for loop in lines 391, 441 and 472 from

for(rcargc--;rcargc=0;rcargc--) free(rcargv[rcargc]);

to

for(rcargc--;rcargc0;rcargc--) free(rcargv[rcargc]);

Have a nice weekend

When running joy2key with the standard config file and specifing the

does not occur anymore and I suspect I found a memory leak...

Bug#404543: joy2key does not support threshold of 0

2006-12-25 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: joy2key
Version: 1.6.1
Tags: patch

I own a gamepad, for which the axis belonging to the steering cross only
report values -1,0,1 so the threshold has to be set to 0, which works
when using the build-in calibrate function. The problem is, that when
trying to specify this via the commandline, this is not accepted,
because the values are tested as truth value and 0 evaluates to
false ...

To fix this I created an additional array, holding just the information,
whether the threshold for this axis was defined. To allow manual
calibration, I introduced x as placeholder in the threshold
commandline, meaning: This threshold is not supplied, which was prior
to this work indicated by passing 0 as value.

Please see the attached patch

Thanks

Bug#403550: ekiga ignores .asoundrc = headset via bluetooth not available

Hello,

I would like to use ekiga together with my bluetooth headset. This can

the successor of the kernel module.

When running ekiga I can only select the hardware soundcards (usb,
build-in maestro3). Ekiga should also list the pcm devices specified by the
users/systems asoundrc.

Thanks

Bug#383792: hal: external usb2 burner not recognised anymore

2006-08-19 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: hal
Version: 0.5.7-2
Severity: important

Hey,

after upgrade to hal-0.5.7.1-1 recognition of my external usb2 burner
is broken. The device itself is recognised, but the nodes for the cd
part are not created. I did a hal-device for the nodes under the device
piped the info into a file, did that for old and new hal and this is the
diff - it seems that the two relevant entries are not created:

Bug#350786: Additional info

2006-05-26 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Hey,

when I used that approach, the bluepin script assumed, that the Xserver
on the host was called with the -auth argument, pointing to the
Xauthority file.

However on my system, that was not the case, so the script had to fail,
since without the xauth credentials the access to the Xserver was
denied. As a crude work-around I identified the user of the xserver and
asumed that

 1. The home directory of the users lies under /home
 2. the home directory of user x ist /home/x
 3. there is the .Xauthority file

As I wrote, it was a crude hack. So it seems it would be better to mark
bluepin deprecated, close this bug and point users to bluez-pin, which I
use now...

HTH

Bug#366256: pdf 1.5 is not recognized by gnome-vfs, but by file

2006-05-06 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: gnome-mime-data
Version: 2.4.2-1

I got a PDF 1.5 Document and tried to open it in evince and it reported
that it can't open the mime-type (application/octet-stream). So I used
gnomevfs-info on the file and got:

MIME type : application/octet-stream

Using file -i I got:
application/pdf

I can provide you the document if you need it.

Bug#355950: Evolution ignores search scope setting for ldap

2006-03-08 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: evolution
Version: 2.4.2.1-1
Severity: important

Hello,

my university offers a nice campus wide email directory. Some time ago
it worked beautifully out of evolution. Now I wanted to use it and ...
well it doesn't respond anymore.

I investigated a bit and think I found the problem in the search scope
setting of evolution. Doing:

ldapsearch -x -s sub -b o=abook -h abook.rwth-aachen.de
((|(objectclass=person)(mail=*))(|(cn=bläsing)(sn=bläsing)))

Returns my Emailadress as part of the result, where

ldapsearch -x -s one -b o=abook -h abook.rwth-aachen.de
((|(objectclass=person)(mail=*))(|(cn=bläsing)(sn=bläsing)))

just returns an empty result.

When I now do a package capture for the first query and one for
evolution, you will notice, that evo queries with scope one, although
configured for sub:

Package comparison:
http://bart.kullen.rwth-aachen.de/~mblaesing/evo_ldap_comp.jpg

Config:
http://bart.kullen.rwth-aachen.de/~mblaesing/evo_ldap_config1.jpg
http://bart.kullen.rwth-aachen.de/~mblaesing/evo_ldap_config2.jpg

This makes the ldap part of evolution useless for me - and it's a
regression, although I don't know when it happend.

Hope you find the error

Thanks in advance

Bug#350786: bluez-utils: bluepin - broken - fix (well not quite but a working hack) attached

2006-01-31 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: bluez-utils
Version: 2.24-1
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

Hey,

If I am not mistaken, bluepin has to fail in any normal System, that
doesn't require special config options for X11-Auth. Meaning, that
normally -auth isn't provided by the XServer. So I patched bluepin to
use a default patch for the Xauthorization file.

See attached patch

Matthias

PS: Maybe you'll get another patch - which utiliases os.expandpath ...
PS: Also changed some gtk-calls to match newest calls

Bug#342055: hal: new sbp2 (ieee1394 discs) drivers (here: 2.6.14) break hal (at least 0.5.5)

2005-12-04 Thread Matthias Bläsing
Package: hal
Version: 0.5.5.1-1
Severity: normal
Tags: experimental patch

Hey,

when upgrading to the new hal package, I notized, that its firewire disc
support is broken with newer sbp2 drivers. These don't assign SCSI Type
Disk anymore, but RBC (what ever that might mean). A patch on
[EMAIL PROTECTED] helped:

http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/hal/2005-November/003995.html

I rebuild the package from source, with this patch applied - and yeah -
my disc is recognized!

I asume the patch will go into the next release (it would be wired
if not!), but if you rebuild your package prior to this, it would be
nice if you could include the patch.
