Bug#1036154: Temporary fix - issue connected with [DSA 5340-1] webkit2gtk security update?

2023-07-19 Thread Matthias Kirschner
Would anyone be able to include those fixes in oldstable and stable
until we have a better fix? At the moment the versions in both of them
are not usable (unless you write very short e-mails ;) ).

If I can support anyone with testing, please let me know.

Best regards,
Matthias

Thank you Berto for the pointer to the local fix.

Bug#1036154: Temporary fix - issue connected with [DSA 5340-1] webkit2gtk security update?

2023-05-16 Thread Matthias Kirschner
(Added Alberto in CC, as the issue might be connected with the
webkit2gtk security update:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-security-announce/2023/msg00029.html )

Through /var/log/dpkg.log I checked which upgrades of
libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 and libgtk-3-0 took place in my previous apt
upgrade.

With:

  apt install libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37=2.38.5-1~deb11u1
libjavascriptcoregtk-4.0-18=2.38.5-1~deb11u1
gir1.2-javascriptcoregtk-4.0=2.38.5-1~deb11u1
gir1.2-webkit2-4.0=2.38.5-1~deb11u1

I was then able to downgrade the packages and afterwards put libwebkit
on hold with:

  apt-mark hold libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37

After this temporary fix, I can again read my e-mails with astroid.

Thank you.

2023-05-16 Thread Matthias Kirschner
Package: astroid
Version: 0.15-7
Severity: normal

Dear Jonas,

I did an "apt upgrade" on stable. Since the upgrade I can just see the first
few lines when displaying e-mails with astroid. Before sending I also just see
the first few lines of the mails, but they are sent correctly.

>From the astroid depencies the following packages were included in the upgrade:
libc6, libgtk, libwebkit2gtk (hope I did not miss any).

Best regards,
Matthias

Bug#595331: new version of crypttab doesn't work without changing config file: it is uncompatible with previous version

2010-09-15 Thread Matthias Kirschner
Just upgraded a friend's machine, and had the same problem. I also had
to change check=ext2 to check=blkid. (I was lucky as it only affected
the home partition, so I did not have to use a live system to make this
changes.)

Bug#577693: RFP: affiliatefox-fsfe -- iceweasel plugin for fsfe

2010-04-13 Thread Matthias Kirschner
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: affiliatefox-fsfe
  Version : 1.02-fsfe1.0
  Upstream Author : Herr Sonntag
(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/3787896)
* URL : http://wiki.fsfe.org/SupportPrograms
* License : GPLv3
  Programming Lang:
Description : This iceweasel / firefox plugin will add a reference id to
all amazon
URLs. For product bought with this reference number,
Amazon gives
around 5% provision for each sale to FSFE. FSFE uses this
money to work
for Free Software in Europe and also to oppose software
patents in
Europe. If you already buy on amazon.ca|com|co.uk|de|fr
there are no
additional costs involved for your.

With this plugin, FSFE e.V. is a participant in the Amazon
Europe
S.à.r.l. Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising
programme
designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising
fees by
advertising and linking to amazon.(ca|com|co.uk|de|fr)”.

https://wiki.fsfe.org/SupportPrograms

It would help FSFE if we have a Debian package, so users who already use
amazon and want to support FSFE can install this plugin convenient and
without security problems.

The URL of the xpi is here:
http://affiliatefox.net/install/install.php?hash=2773e78c1065e77e628741be8c2ab1fa

Works with Iceweasel 3.0a8pre – 3.7a1pre

Thanks a lot!!

To have support for the charset UTF-8 the LaTeX command for changing the ch=

Ah ok, I've not seen this.
