Source: paho.mqtt.c Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, please consider packaging the latest available release, 1.3.11. This version is required by the C++ binding paho.mqtt.cpp which I want to package. Thanks for your work on the package! Best regards, Matthias
Bug#889822: Can the bug for the Bullseye release still be fixed?
Dear Maintainer, the problem is still present in the current version: $apt install libboost-log-dev libboost-log-dev:armhf Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libboost-log-dev : Conflicts: libboost-log-dev:armhf but 1.74.0.3 is to be installed libboost-log-dev:armhf : Depends: libboost-log1.74-dev:armhf but it is not installable Conflicts: libboost-log-dev but 1.74.0.3 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. Is there any chance / possibility to fix the problem? Maybe even still for bullseye? Best regards, Matthias

Use something like: tigervncserver --localhost no > --xstartup /usr/bin/xterm This should get you a VNC session running a > simple xterm. The call tigervncserver --localhost no --xstartup /usr/bin/xterm started an xterm and the MATE desktop in the background. After that I tried some variants in the ~/xstartup file. I got the original content from the internet, and didn't really understand it. The following variant works: unset SESSION_MANAGER unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS /usr/bin/mate-session That means instead of "exec /usr/bin/mate-session &" I now use "/usr/bin/mate-session" in the last line. Do you have any idea why the original call doesn't work anymore, and what is the difference between the calls? Many greetings, Matthias

Bug#983338: RPI-3B+: serial console shows garbage - Steps to reproduce
Steps to reproduce: - Build an image using the recipes here: https://salsa.debian.org/raspi-team/image-specs or download a prebuild image from here: https://raspi.debian.net/tested-images/ - connect a 3V3 serial console to pins 6, 8, and 10 on the 40 pin GPIO header - Boot into the system and install the packages: apt-get update apt-get dist-upgrade apt-get install tigervnc-standalone-server xfce4 - Reboot the system reboot - Try to login on the serial console ... => only garbage ...
Bug#983338: RPI-3B+: serial console shows garbage / no longer works (in conjunction with remote X11)
Package: linux-image-5.10.0-3-arm64 Version: 5.10.13-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, In the context of tigervnc-standalone-server and xfce4, the serial console on a Raspberry Pi 3 only prints garbage from the time of login via the serial console. Here is the original issue from the (unofficial) Debian Raspberry Image Bug Tracker: https://salsa.debian.org/raspi-team/image-specs/-/issues/44#note_229233 The bug is not included in package version 5.9.0-5-arm64. Also not included in the vendor tree (https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux (rpi-5.10.y branch). It was excluded with 2nd board, 2nd UART/USB cable as well as 2nd SD card that it is because of the hardware. Best regards, Matthias

Bug#978434: paho.mqtt.c: Sponsor for package upload?
Hello Roman, thank you for preparing the update to version 1.3.8 in git [1]. Since you don't answer my mails, I would like to try again via the bug tracker and the mailing list. What is the reason that the package does not make it from the Mentors site [2] to the Debian archive for weeks? Is the original sponsor no longer available? Does it make sense to ask for a new sponsor here on the mailing list? Are you interested in handing over the maintainer position to me? I would be very happy if the update makes it into the bullseye release. Since your package is the base for my package [3], I am hanging in the air ...
