there.

Using LXQt here, but pcmanfm instead of pcmanfm-qt
I tried removing xarchiver and apt auto-installed ark for me.
Since then pcmanfm fails to compress silently.
Tried dpkg-reconfigure pcmanfm and even rebooted.
Is there any workaround without recompiling?

Can you try adding line

"flat-volumes = no" to /etc/pulse/daemon.conf

and reboot
Please note ";" is a comment here, so make sure your line is not commented.

   * What led up to the situation?
 Install blueman-manager, pair and connect a bluetooth audio device. Open 
pavucontrol-qt.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
 Try opening pavucontrol-qt, then connect bluetooth device. Same result.
 Try using pavucontrol instead of pavucontrol-qt, it works fine. 
   * What was the outcome of this action?
 pavucontrol-qt - segfault
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
 pavucontrol-qt opens and allows to change settings
