Bug#813658: virglrenderer support before the freeze?

I am tracking testing. I'll show you the new dependencies pulled in by the qemu-system-x86 package. When talking about dependencies do not only look at direct dependencies, but at the whole dependency tree. We are talking about a HUGE number of additional packages and an increased attack surface here. This is for qemu-system-x86 1:2.7+dfsg-3+b1 --> 1:2.8+dfsg-1 I cringe at the thought that I have to install all these packages for quemu on what were once a really lean and clean servers just hosting virtual machines on the net. Bug#835499: netcfg: Does not allow for pointopoint addresses, not even in export mode
Package: netcfg Version: 1.139 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, netcfg does not ask for a pointopoint address when entering the network config manually, not even in expert mode In expert mode it will show you, after collecting all the information, that is has NOT set a pointopoint address. Please change this setup since this always means that you have to select "No network configuration" and manually write your /etc/network/interface file after the installation of the base system. netcfg should in normal and expert mode always ask for the pointopoint adress and let the users know that it is OK to leave the field emtpy when there is no pointopoint address needed. Many large hosters use setups where you have to set a pointopoint address and not supporting it makes a Debian installation unnecessarily cumbersome. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init)

Bug#699354: roundcube severely outdated. Please update to 0.8.5 or 0.9beta
Package: roundcube Version: 0.7.2-6 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, Please update roundcube to 0.8.5 or 0.9beta January 25, 2013 Update 0.8.5 released Today we can announce another release of the Roundcube webmail package. This is a service update to the stable 0.8 version. It contains small bug fixes and improvements as well as fixes for a recently reported XSS vulnerability. See the CHANGELOG file for details. January 07, 2013 Release 0.9-beta ready for download We're proud to announce this beta release of the next major version 0.9. With this milestone we introduce some important changes under the hood as well as some nice and long-awaited features: * First of all, the Roundcube Framework. The core classes providing the * strong base of Roundcube's functionality have been extracted and decoupled * into a Framework package. They can be used individually in other open * source projects looking for solid functionality around IMAP, SMTP, * MIME-handling and more. * Another major change is the new database abstraction. In order to add * support for SQLite3 the PEAR:MDB2 dependency was dropped and Roundcube now * uses the native PHP Data Objects (PDO). ATTENTION: due a small lack in the * MySQL PDO driver this version of Roundcube requires PHP 5.3 when using the * MySQL database. * Then we also added some new features: - Download all attachments as zip archive (zip module required) - Render thumbnails for image attachments (imagemagick is recommended) - Compose and mail view in new windows (configurable in user settings) - Upload attachment files and contact photos with drag drop - Forward multiple emails as attachments - Show contact photos in mail view - CSV import for contacts And of course plenty of small improvements and bug fixes. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages roundcube depends on: pn roundcube-core none roundcube recommends no packages. roundcube suggests no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. The result would look like something like this: iface eth0 inet static address a.b.c.d netmask 255.255.255.255 gateway e.f.g.h pointopoint e.f.g.h Afterwards this routing would look like: root@alpha:~# ip route default via e.f.g.h dev eth0 e.f.g.h dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src a.b.c.d root@alpha:~# route -n Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric RefUse Iface 0.0.0.0 e.f.g.h 0.0.0.0 UG0 00 eth0 e.f.g.h 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH0 00 eth0 At the moment I don't know of any other way to configure this besides skipping the network confguration at installation time and then doing a manual network configuration afterwards. Or is there some other option that I'm just not aware of? With the growing shortage of IPv4 adress space this will probably become more and more common. At least for one large hoster in Germany this is already the standard mode of operation if you want to have more then one IP address (for virtual machines for example). Bug#694965: netcfg: Allow setup of pointopoint routes to reach gateway
There already seems to be some code in static.c like the code below, but it doesn't seem to be working Manual configuration always only cycles through the following requests: IP Address Mask Gateway then it seems to try to configure the network and complains about an unreachable gateway. Instead I'd expect it to pop up the query for the pointopoint link. Sometimes you can even trigger netcfg tp pop up a dialog box which shows the network config overview and there it is obvious that there is a unfilled pointopoint variable. So this is rather a bug to be fixed then a wishlist item. Please fix. Thank you. Bug#410506: munin documentation improvement suggestion
Package: munin Version: 1.2.5-1 Severity: minor Please add this to the munin documentation, as this is missing from the normal munin docs. I personally added it directly in my munin.conf http://edseek.com/archives/2006/07/13/munin-alert-email-notification/ -8 Munin has support for sending mails when specified warning and critical thresholds are exceeded. If you aren't already running a notification system, such as Nagios, Munin's notification works splendidly. A few changes to munin.conf are all that's needed. First, you need to configure contacts, which enables the notification system. contacts me contact.me.command mail -s Munin notification ${var:host} [EMAIL PROTECTED] contact.me.always_send warning critical Above, I define a contact entry named, aptly, me. Pick any name you would like. Next, the specific command action is defined. It's really just a string to be executed by a shell which will receive the body of the alert message as STDIN. For sending email an appropriate command such as mail is used. Finally, mails will always be sent on any warning or critical state. Next, recognize that alerts will only be sent for plugins that actually provide warning and critical values. A few of the default plugins do, the rest do not. What's more, appropriate thresholds may vary by machine. Fortunately, you can define thresholds per plugin per host though how isn't entirely explained in the documentation. [foo.example.com] address 127.0.0.1 use_node_name yes df._dev_sda1.warning 97 hddtemp_smartctl.hde.critical 41 # This won't work # hddtemp_smartctl.*.critical 41 In munin.conf, for each node of interest, you can define specific threshold values for a given host or override values provided by any plugin that already includes thresholds in its output. The format is plugin.fieldname.{critical,warning} value. You can find the fieldnames in the HTML graph views for fieldnames that are determined at configuration time by the plugin. Above, the default warning threshold for the df plugin of 92 is overridden with 97. (In this case, it's the % full output from the df command.) Additionally, a temperature threshold for critical is provided for the hddtemp_smartctl plugin, which does not specify one by default. A different value can be specified per host. I couldn't specify thresholds globally per plugin for plugins that had no default. You must edit the plugin itself and redstribute it to monitored systems for new global defaults. ==8-- -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18.1 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages munin depends on: ii adduser 3.102 Add and remove users and groups pn libdigest-md5-perl none (no description available) ii libhtml-template-perl2.8-1 HTML::Template : A module for usin ii libparse-recdescent-perl 1.94.free-3 Generates recursive-descent parser ii librrds-perl 1.2.15-0.3 Time-series data storage and displ pn libtime-hires-perl none (no description available) ii perl [libstorable-perl] 5.8.8-7 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii perl-modules 5.8.8-7 Core Perl modules ii rrdtool 1.2.15-0.3 Time-series data storage and displ Versions of packages munin recommends: ii libdate-manip-perl5.44-5 a perl library for manipulating da ii munin-node1.2.5-1network-wide graphing framework (n -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. A solution that I already mentioned to Steve would be to release another update to the package that scans for this comma in the preinstal script and removes it auto-magical-ly The thing is that there are many ways that a user might have set their passdb backend which happened to work, but which were never correct according to the documented syntax. I'm pretty sure that backend1, backend2 was not the documented syntax, and that it was rather always backend1 backend2. I don't know why you had that comma there, but in general I don't think Debian should take responsibility for fixing up user config files wrt changes in the strictness of implementing the documented syntax -- only when the approved syntax changes. If you can point me to some resource that said to use the comma, then I'll happily implement that check. I'm like 99.5% sure that it must have come from swat, which I had used to generate the original version of that config file. Bug#361585: munin-graph: rendered text lines below graphs wrap around
Package: munin Version: 1.2.4-1 Severity: normal As can be seen for example in the Filesystem usage, Netstat, DNS, Postfix and other boxes: http://www.neuffer.org/munin/neuffer.org/skywalker.neuffer.org.html The text below the graphs wraps around which makes the graphs unnecessarily hard to read and ugly. This seems to be related to the fact that the width of the antialiased fonts has changed in comparison to the non-antialiased counterparts and that this difference is not taken into account. ie. the boxes need to be rendered a tiny bit wider or a non-antialiased font needs to be used.
