Bug#449173: Seeing this with a brother HL-1440
Wow... finally found the root of the problem I've been seeing for a few days now. Print jobs have been silently being queued on my print server, and there's no useful information in cups as to why this is happening. As far as I know, this is the only thing that has changed recently in the cups toolchain, so I can only assume the gs-* -> ghostscript transition is to blame (somehow). With regard to the /usr/bin/gs disappearing, it seems to be due to the fact that /usr/bin/gs used to be an alternative but is no longer one... the alternatives system doesn't seem to reliably be made aware of this change, so when one does "update-alternatives --auto gs", /usr/bin/gs is blown away after the upgrade to the ghostscript package. mike -- Michael R. Bug#278666: New release version 2005-01-R1
Just updating this bug re: the January bugfix release. Is there any reason the package can't be released? (I understand if Francois is busy, and apologize for bothering him if so). mike -- Michael R Head <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> GPG: http://www.suppressingfire.org/~burner/gpg.key.txt (ID 23A02B1F) signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part
Bug#293348: dovecot-imapd: New inetd.conf check doesn't work for all configurations.
Package: dovecot-imapd Version: 0.99.13-4 Severity: important The new inetd.conf check doesn't work on my sister. This causes dovecot to simply not start anymore on my system. I run a pops server, but it's not dovecot, but my imaps server is dovecot. when dovecot looks to see if I'm running a pops server, it finds one, and decides not to start my dovecot imap server. I've just removed the new checks from my /etc/init.d/dovecot, and things are working again, but I think the check needs to be reworked just a little. Perhaps it should only check inetd for the protocols that it finds in dovecot.conf? thanks, mike -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-k7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages dovecot-imapd depends on: ii dovecot-common 0.99.13-4secure mail server that supports m ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7e-3 SSL shared libraries -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". I'd also be happy to write up a section in the README about how to enable the native fileselector globally, for all users, but I just don't know how to set those sort of options in /etc/openoffice. > > Thanks > Chris > -- Michael R Head <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> GPG: http://www.suppressingfire.org/~burner/gpg.key.txt (ID 23A02B1F) signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

Also, how is it possible for an administrator to configure this setting system-wide for all users? Perhaps that can be mentioned in the README, too. thanks, mike -- Michael R Head <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> GPG: http://www.suppressingfire.org/~burner/gpg.key.txt (ID 23A02B1F) signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part
