Bug#1002721: okular: segfaults when trying to open a signed PDF

2021-12-28 Thread Pablo de Vicente
Package: okular
Version: 4:20.12.3-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate
***

   * What led up to the situation?
It hapens everytime I want to open a PDF file digitally signed by
 others or by me.
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Install another package like evince or open the PDF with a browser
 (Chrome). It worked.
   * Further information:
   a) I include the segfault trace below
   b) From the trace I can see that package libpkcs11-fnmtdnie may be
involved. However other applications from bulls-eye work fine in case they
use linpkcs-fnmtdnie
   c) Information from linpkcs-fnmtdnie:
   ii configuradorfnmt 1.0.1-0
   ii libpkcs11-fnmtdnie1.6.1

Segfault trace:

Application: Okular (okular), signal: Segmentation fault

Bug#971909: Thunderbird has lost localization in Spanish

2020-10-09 Thread Pablo de Vicente

Issue solved.

I just removed the Spanish Language Pack from Tools->Addons (it said:
not compatible pack with Thundrbird version 78) and restarted
Thunderbird. It works now.

Thank you.

Pablo.

Hello Carsten

Thank you very much for your answer.

I do not know if the standard procedure for Debian BTS advises that I
send a reply or use the BTS system. I apologize if answering this email
is not adequate and I should use reportbug instead.

you can use both, the BTS system is based on email and the bts or
reportbug helper are "just" creating emails. If you want to use any type
of MUA you are free to select the one you prefer to use.

I have no other localization package and this change of behaviour
from Spanish to English (regression) happened with a security update. My
settings for LANG environment variable is correct:

   printenv | grep LANG

A shorter way to see all LANG environments is simply call 'locale' on
the CLI.

    LANG=es_ES.UTF-8

And the only localization I have is Spanish:

That's all fine.

...

I have uninstalled myspell-es and installed hunspell-es instead by
this does not make any difference.

Of course not, these packages are spell checker, not localization's.

All you probably need to do is to remove any in your profile *local!*
installed language package and restart Thunderbird! (As written
previously :) )

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/959630

This is for FF but it's basically the same procedure for TB.

Bug#932427: thunderbird does not start and closes with an error

2019-07-19 Thread Pablo de Vicente
Package: thunderbird
Version: 1:60.8.0-1~deb10u1

When I invoke `thunderbird' from an ordinary shell prompt I get two errors:
- the error in the shell says: "Error: Access was denied while trying to
open files in your profile directory"
- the graphic error in a window says: "Your thunderbird profile cannot be
loaded. It may be missing or inaccesible"

I have investigated the problem and it comes from using a home directory
called /home2 (mount point of a second disk) instead of /home (mount point
of the main disk). This happens even if /etc/passwd states that /home2/user
is the home of user.

I have done several tests to check if /home2/user had contents that could
prevent the start, but this is not the case. I have switched the mount
points /home and /home2 and changed /etc/passwd accordingly and Thunderbird
started working on /home/user with the content it had in /home2/user.

  I am using 4.19.0-5-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.37-5 (2019-06-19) x86_64
GNU/Linux and libc6:amd64 2.28-10

Bug#593347: Grub: no module name found

2010-08-17 Thread Pablo de Vicente
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98+20100710-1

OS version: Debian Squeeze (downloaded in August 13th 2010 and updated
yesterday.

I have got a dual boot laptop: Windows XP and Debian squeeze. Grub works fine
when I reboot the computer after having used it in Debian. However if I start
the computer in windows, AND I log into an account and later reboot the
computer grub stops working. It is as if Windows modifies some boot loader
register and grub can no longer boot.

I get the following message:

GRUB loading.
Welcome to GRUB!

no module name found
Aborted. Press any key to exit.

I press a key and I get:

Non-System disk or disk error
replace and strike any key when ready

To recover the system I have to use the Installation CD and reinstall GRUB in
the master boot record.

I am using Linux kernel: 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP.

Bug#331633: omniidl4 for python2.4?

2005-10-04 Thread Pablo de Vicente

Severity: wishlist
Package: omniidl4
Version: 4.0.6-2

I see that Debian Unstable provides package python2.4-omniorb. However
omniidl4 needs python2.3. I would like to see omniidl4 using python2.4 so
that one does not need top install two different versions of python on the
same host. Is there any technical difficulty about it?.
