Bug#990114: GDM fails to start when GPU initialization takes too long

2021-06-20 Thread Patrick Ammann

Package: gdm3
Version: 3.38.2.1-1

For several months i have an issue when booting up my machine. I am
running into a black screen.

Workaround: Toggle with Ctrl+Alt+F1 / F2.

Other distros are affected also. E.g. see:
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/64985

Upstream (still open):
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/-/issues/103

Patch applied by archlinux:
https://gitlab.com/intgr/arch-pkg-gdm/-/commit/b1f96ef17c1d03a7764d244120fb8f15f95951cd

Gentoo had this patch (they recently updated to gdm to version 40.0x and
dropped this):
https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit?id=85ea6bed8c994eae9891af1a2fba0e99aa1c3031

Please apply this patch to gdm until upgrading to a more recent version,
which has fixed this

Thanks,
Patrick

Bug#990012: Calendar/DAV + CardBook/DAV broken

2021-06-17 Thread Patrick Ammann

Package: thunderbird
Version: 78.10.0-1

Accessing my online NextCloud Calendar (via Lightning) + Contacts (via
CardBook) does not work anymore. Also when going to the Add-Ons i can see that
accessing
the Add-Ons webpage fails to load too.
When installing the previous version 78.10.0-1 all that works again.

Thanks,
Patrick

Bug#939781: Please include Navi10 firmware files

2020-01-26 Thread Patrick Ammann

I have made a patch, which adds navi10 and navi14. It also updates
raven, raven2 and picasso. Please integrate this and generate an
up-to-date firmware-amd-graphics package some time soon.

Thanks,
Patrick

Bug#882666: "*.libretro" key/value files are missing

2018-09-17 Thread Patrick Ammann

Still an issue with version "3.30.0-1"

Looks like "*.libretro" key/value files are missing in the installation
path "/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libretro"

When i add files like found here manually (e.g. nestopia.libretro) it
starts to work:

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-games/tree/master/flatpak/libretro-cores

libretro-gtk depends on those files (see file: retro-module-iterator.c
function:retro_module_iterator_iterate_next_in_current_path)

Bug#455725: Please add a dependency to libnspr4-dev

2008-08-09 Thread Patrick Ammann

I ran into the same problem, took me soem time to
figure out what the problem is.

Please add a dependency to libnspr4-dev.

When you look at:
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/icedove-js.pc
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/icedove-plugins.pc
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/icedove-xpcom.pc

you can see that they all depend on:
"Requires: nspr >= 4.7.0"

This pkg-config file is provided by the Debian
package: libnspr4-dev.

Bug#468326: at should "recommend" mail-transport-agent and not "depend"

Package: at
Version: 3.1.10

The at package depends on the mail-transport-agent package which forces

When i look at the Ubuntu package i can see that there it is only
recommended to have a mail-transport-agent installed.

Solution:
I did miss to install the header package, it took me some time to find
this, maybe a package dependency or a better error message in the
make.sh and README's would be very nice.

Bug 2: After i was able to build the module i copied it and tried to
load it:

modprobe -v fglrx
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.16-2-k7/misc/fglrx.ko
FATAL: Error inserting fglrx (/lib/modules/2.6.16-2-k7/misc/fglrx.ko):
Invalid module format

Solution:
The kernel was compiled with "4.0", but i have "4." install. However the
make.sh script seems only to look for "4". After manually workaround the
make.sh to take 4.0 gcc i was able to load the module.

PS:
After all it would maybe a good idea to have something fully automated
so that installing the "fglrx-kernel-src" would be enough and everything
would be done by the .deb scripts.

Thanks,
Patrick
