Bug#530741: set all my mails marked NEW as OLD
Package: kmail Version: 4:4.2.2-1 Severity: critical I'm using mutt to read my emails and kontact to use a variety of PIM application, especially for my calendar and contacts, occasionnally taking notes (but not email). Today I opened kontact and it complained about many .summary files not being up to date, and just after that, all my mails previously marked NEW in the Maildirs in ~/Mail were suddenly marked OLD instead, which is a huge loss of information for me (I now have to browse them all to try and recover which mails I already have read or not). Bug#530741: set all my mails marked NEW as OLD
Scribit Modestas Vainius dies 27/05/2009 hora 16:14: If ~/Mail is where kmail is set up to store your mails, what do you expect? I used kmail a bit, ages ago, so maybe this setup was just carried through various upgrades. Still, what is the meaning of turning all my nex mails into old ones without me even seeing their subject? I see that you could not have known kmail defaults but I don't think this is only kmail fault, it is also a user error as both applications are set up to use the same folder for mail storage. Couldn't the two applications be nice to each other? mutt wouldn't do any modifications to the mail storage without a clear request from the user, I'd like the same behaviour from kmail. Hence I believe the severity should be lowered but I'm not doing it just now. Kmail's current behaviour combined with me having used before led me to lose a whole lot of valuable information, without even asking anything from kmail, so I still think the severity is that high, but I'm obviously biased, as I'm pissed by what happened, so you should have the final word. Bug#509224: ditz: Issues should have a less-changing identifier by default, like DVCS revisions usually have
Package: ditz Version: 0.5-1 Severity: wishlist As ditz is by design able to work in a distributed workflow, the identifiers used by default should also be distributed-friendly. The identifiers using the component name and a number have the problem that most merges with another set of issues will renumber anything. Like DVCS systems, ditz already uses a hash as an identifier and the beginning of this identifier can already be used to designate an issue to ditz, so using the beginning of this identifier, like DVCS do, would seem to be a good idea. For example, if component foobar has been added an issue 6f25f4fe1d2ebce20f0b97df35f5eb2ba6245586, 6f25f4fe or foobar-6f25f4fe might be good default identifiers. Bug#419209: Not a /var deadlock
found 419209 2.02.33-2 severity 419209 critical thanks I also hit this bug very recently. I was able to do snapshots until mid-february. Since then, when I start the creation of a snapshot (of my /home, in this case), the lvcreate process never returns, and it seems impossible to start any other process. Creating a new window in screen yields an empty window where nothing happens, opening a signed mail in mutt blocks at Invoking GPG..., and so on. The running applications, if they don't need spawning new processes, otherwise seem to work (to which extent I don't know, as the whole system is unusable enough that I reboot). The snapshot was created by the following command: $ sudo lvcreate -L 1g -n home.bak -s /dev/vg1/home After reboot, it is visible but not a snapshot: --- Logical volume --- LV Name/dev/vg1/home VG Namevg1 LV UUID7IHBuj-FUTT-QpfJ-dki9-p3ev-GCaw-61m8Sh LV Write Accessread/write LV Status available # open 1 LV Size30,09 GB Current LE 7702 Segments 6 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors auto - currently set to 256 Block device 254:5 --- Logical volume --- LV Name/dev/vg1/home.bak VG Namevg1 LV UUID2wnEYZ-HpVv-QhmQ-aUrk-KVIR-tUDV-GAwS5L LV Write Accessread/write LV Status available # open 0 LV Size1,00 GB Current LE 256 Segments 1 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors auto - currently set to 256 Block device 254:9 Suddenly, Pierre -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] OpenPGP 0xD9D50D8A signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#469779: Confirmed
retitle 469779 No UI to modify arbitrary extended attribute (EA) thanks Yeah, sorry, I don't know how I missed that, I discovered it today because I went to the permissions tab for file already with ACLs, so the dropdown lists were disabled and I noticed the Advanced Permissions button. I think I was misled by the fact that this bug hit me quite some time ago, when I initially began using ACLs. Back then, I think I thoroughly searched and there wasn't the Advanced Permissions, and I didn't check very well this time, when I eventually decided to file a bug... Scribit Nigel McNie dies 19/03/2008 hora 16:07: What part is still broken? I purged mahara packages and installed them back. The default server name was 'mahara', and the /etc/mahara/servername.conf file contains: ServerName mahara Yet, when I go to http://localhost/, I got a page from Mahara, and thus every other page I had available at that web server returns a 404. ServerName localhost 8 Note that if I do `dpkg-reconfigure -plow mahara-apache2`, I'm only asked one question about a redirection, and even if I let the answer empty, the ServerName remains localhost. I'm no expert at apache configuration semantics, but it seemed to me that having a VirtalHost * section should change apache's configuration globally (thus srewing the local admin's configuration). That's why most other files in /etc/apache2/conf.d just define an Alias (sometimes even commented) and change configuration with Directory sections. Package: linux-image-2.6.22-2-686 Version: 2.6.22-4 Severity: normal Everytime I use a P2P file transfer application, in my case either amule or ktorrent, the network bandwidth systematically gets smaller and smaller over time. Could it be a memory leak or slow data corruption that arise only with long-living connections, inside the via_rhine driver (this is my PCI card 00:12.0)? -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 2.6.22-2-686 (Debian 2.6.22-4) ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.1.3 20070812 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-15)) #1 SMP Fri Aug 31 00:24:01 UTC 2007 ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [drm] Initialized drm 1.1.0 20060810 [drm] Initialized radeon 1.27.0 20060524 on minor 0 agpgart: Found an AGP 3.5 compliant device at :00:00.0. agpgart: Device is in legacy mode, falling back to 2.x agpgart: Putting AGP V2 device at :00:00.0 into 1x mode agpgart: Putting AGP V2 device at :01:00.0 into 1x mode [drm] Setting GART location based on new memory map [drm] writeback test succeeded in 1 usecs usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 3 usb 1-1.1: USB disconnect, address 5 usb 1-1.2: USB disconnect, address 6 usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 7 usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice hub 1-1:1.0: USB hub found hub 1-1:1.0: 2 ports detected usb 1-1.1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8 usb 1-1.1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice input: Logitech USB Receiver as /class/input/input7 input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [Logitech USB Receiver] on usb-:00:10.0-1.1 input: Logitech USB Receiver as /class/input/input8 input,hiddev96: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Logitech USB Receiver] on usb-:00:10.0-1.1 usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6 usb 4-4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices usbcore: registered new interface driver usb-storage USB Mass Storage support registered. usb-storage: device found at 6 usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning usb-storage: device scan complete scsi 1:0:0:0: Direct-Access Maxtor 6 L300R0PQ: 0 ANSI: 0 sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] 586114704 512-byte hardware sectors (300091 MB) sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 33 00 00 00 sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Assuming drive cache: write through sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] 586114704 512-byte hardware sectors (300091 MB) sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 33 00 00 00 sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Assuming drive cache: write through sda: sda1 sda2 sda3 sda4 sd 1:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk Filesystem dm-1: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-1 Starting XFS recovery on filesystem: dm-1 (logdev: internal) Ending XFS recovery on filesystem: dm-1 (logdev: internal) Filesystem dm-30: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-30 Starting XFS recovery on filesystem: dm-30 (logdev: internal) Ending XFS recovery on filesystem: dm-30 (logdev: internal) Filesystem dm-16: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-16 Starting XFS recovery on filesystem: dm-16 (logdev: internal) Ending XFS recovery on filesystem: dm-16 (logdev: internal) Filesystem dm-3: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-3 Ending clean XFS mount for filesystem: dm-3 Filesystem dm-17: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-17 Ending clean XFS mount for filesystem: dm-17 Filesystem dm-18: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-18 Ending clean XFS mount for filesystem: dm-18 Filesystem dm-31: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-31 Starting XFS recovery on filesystem: dm-31 (logdev: internal) Ending XFS recovery on filesystem: dm-31 (logdev: internal) Filesystem dm-21: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-21 Ending clean XFS mount for filesystem: dm-21 Filesystem dm-22: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-22 Ending clean XFS mount for filesystem: dm-22 Filesystem dm-23: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-23 Ending clean XFS mount for filesystem: dm-23 Filesystem dm-24: Disabling barriers, not supported by the underlying device XFS mounting filesystem dm-24 Ending clean XFS mount for filesystem: dm-24 Filesystem dm-25: Disabling barriers,

Bug#463160: Doesn't adapt size or restore position anymore
Package: psi Version: 0.11-3 Severity: normal Since the last upgrade of my psi package (from 0.10 to 0.11, I guess), Psi won't do window resize and positioning as before. I have the options Auto-resize contact list and Remember window sizes selected. Before the upgrade, when restoring the Psi windows, it would be shown at the bottom right corner of the screen if it was there when minimized, and the window would be the exact size needed to show all the contacts visible in the roster, nothing more. Now, when restoring the window, most of the time it will show up in the top right corner and only the top first contact will be visible (even when many more contacts are present in the roster). It seems that only when the roster didn't change between minimization and restoration does the window show up at the expected position and size (because they just didn't change, I guess). --- System information. --- Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-686 Debian Release: lenny/sid 990 testing www.debian-multimedia.org 990 testing ftp.nerim.net 502 stable ftp.nerim.net 501 unstableftp.nerim.net 500 unstableftp.nerim.net 500 unstablearcanes.fr.eu.org 500 stable security.debian.org 500 stable ftp.nerim.net 200 unstablewww.debian-multimedia.org 200 stable www.debian-multimedia.org 1 experimentalftp.debian.org --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ===-+-== libaspell15 (= 0.60) | 0.60.5-1 libc6 (= 2.6.1-1) | 2.7-6 libgcc1(= 1:4.2.1) | 1:4.3-20080116-1 libqca2 | 2.0.0-3 libqt4-core (= 4.3.2) | 4.3.3-2 libqt4-gui (= 4.3.2) | 4.3.3-2 libqt4-qt3support(= 4.3.2) | 4.3.3-2 libstdc++6 (= 4.2.1) | 4.3-20080116-1 libx11-6| 2:1.0.3-7 libxext6| 1:1.0.3-2 libxss1 | 1:1.1.2-1 zlib1g(= 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-1) | 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-8 -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] OpenPGP 0xD9D50D8A signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#454562: RFP: sisc -- extensible Java based interpreter of the algorithmic language Scheme
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: sisc Version : 1.16.6 Upstream Author : Scott G. Miller [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://sisc-scheme.org/ * License : GPL/MPL Programming Lang: Java, Scheme Description : extensible Java based interpreter of the algorithmic language Scheme SISC is an extensible Java based interpreter of the algorithmic language Scheme. SISC uses modern interpretation techniques, and handily outperforms all existing JVM interpreters (often by more than an order of magnitude). In addition, SISC is a complete implementation of the language. The entire R5RS Scheme standard is supported, no exceptions. This includes a full number tower including complex number support, arbitrary precision integers and floating point numbers, as well as hygienic R5RS macros, proper tail recursion, and first-class continuations (not just the escaping continuations as in many limited Scheme systems). SISC also attempts to implement the standard as correctly as possible, while still providing exceptional performance. SISC also provides useful real-world extensions, such as networking, elegant exception handling, a scope-friendly module system, support for SLIB, numerous SRFIs, and a Java foreign-function interface. Finally, native functionality can be added through the use of Modules, extensions that may add new types, values, and functions to the language. These extensions can be packaged into scopable modules at the Scheme level as well. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#454566: RFP: clojure -- a Lisp dialect for the JVM
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: clojure Version : 20071203 Upstream Author : Rich Hickey [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://clojure.sourceforge.net/ * License : Common Public License 1.0, BSD (ASM bytecode engineering library from INRIA) Programming Lang: Java Description : a Lisp dialect for the JVM Clojure is a dynamic programming language that targets the Java Virtual Machine. It is designed to be a general-purpose language, combining the approachability and interactive development of a scripting language with an efficient and robust infrastructure for multithreaded programming. Clojure is a compiled language - it compiles directly to JVM bytecode, yet remains completely dynamic. Every feature supported by Clojure is supported at runtime. Clojure provides easy access to the Java frameworks, with optional type hints and type inference, to ensure that calls to Java can avoid reflection. Clojure is a dialect of Lisp, and shares with Lisp the code-as-data philosophy and a powerful macro system. Clojure is predominantly a functional programming language, and features a rich set of immutable, persistent data structures. When mutable state is needed, Clojure offers a software transactional memory system and reactive Agent system that ensure clean, correct, multithreaded designs. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: odb Version : 1.5 Upstream Author : Bil Lewis [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://www.lambdacs.com/debugger/ * License : GPL Programming Lang: Java Description : Omniscient debugger for the JVM Omniscient Debugging is the idea of collecting time stamps at each point of interest (setting a value, making a method call, throwing/catching an exception) in a program and then allowing the programmer to use those time stamps to explore the history of that program run. The ODB is an implementation of this idea written in Java. It inserts code into the program's classes as they are loaded and when the program runs, the events are recorded. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#449489: RFP: ikarus -- free optimizing incremental native-code compiler for R6RS Scheme
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: ikarus Version : 0.0.1 Upstream Author : Abdulaziz Ghuloum [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://www.cs.indiana.edu/~aghuloum/ikarus/ * License : GPLv3 Programming Lang: C/Scheme Description : free optimizing incremental native-code compiler for R6RS Scheme Ikarus is an optimizing compiler, so your Scheme code will run fast without the need to port hot spots to C for performance. With an incremental compiler, you don't need a separate compilation step to make your program run fast. The best part is that the compiler itself is fast, capable of compiling thousands of lines of code per second. Finally, Ikarus is an R6RS compiler. R6RS is the latest revision of the Scheme standard. The preliminary release of Ikarus supports over 80% of the most important features R6RS, and later releases will bring Ikarus closer to full R6RS conformance. R6RS libraries, scripts, record types, condition system, exception handling, unicode strings, bytevectors, hashtable, and enumerations are among the supported features. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (502, 'stable'), (501, 'unstable'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.21-2-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] OpenPGP 0xD9D50D8A signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#443136: I confirm this bug
Scribit Christian Marillat dies 09/10/2007 hora 09:23: Regarding this bug: #443136, tries to create directories in wrong order. I confirm it. Even with a 'sitecopy -i' before the first update ? Reading the manpage, I'm pretty sure I don't want to do that, it says about '-i': making sitecopy think there are NO files on the remote server. But this is the contrary. There are NO files on the local side, and the remote side is fully populated. I've moved my repository to another machine two weeks ago without problems. Maybe that's just the manpage (or the bug is between the chair and the keyboard). What did you do to get a fresh local copy of an existing remote site?
