Bug#979717: Unable to reproduce this accidental-install-via-apt
I know that ubuntu "masquerades" snap installations as having come via apt. I don't see that on bullseye though. I have installed "lxd" (which is not packaged as a .deb) via snapd. root@piserver:~# dpkg-query --list lxd dpkg-query: no packages found matching lxd root@piserver:~# apt install lxd Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package lxd is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package 'lxd' has no installation candidate root@piserver:~# snap list lxd Name Version RevTrackingPublisher Notes lxd 4.0.418152 4.0/stable canonical✓ - While you could clearly install e.g. spotify via snapd I don't see how you could do this by accident. -- Richard Huxton
Bug#747669: linux-image-3.14-1-amd64: kswapd0 uses 100% CPU but there is no swapping
Package: src:linux Version: 3.14.2-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, Intermittently kswapd0 uses 100% of cpu but does not swap. It does so for several minutes, then goes back to normal. Some time later (minutes, not hours) it does so again. System can be idle (no cpu or I/O) but is a laptop so is running X. System is not under any memory pressure. Behaviour is the same in 3.13-1 but seems fine in 3.12-1 Sample top/free output as below PID USER PR NIVIRTRESSHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 28 root 20 0 0 0 0 R 99.8 0.0 24:00.02 kswapd0 total used free sharedbuffers cached Mem: 3556 2789767 23 60 1950 -/+ buffers/cache:779 2777 Swap: 3681 5 3676 -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 3.14-1-amd64 (debian-ker...@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 4.8.2 (Debian 4.8.2-21) ) #1 SMP Debian 3.14.2-1 (2014-04-28) ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.14-1-amd64 root=UUID=9ed08bfb-43e2-4673-92a1-57e331f7d3e6 ro quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [3.643915] [drm] ib test on ring 0 succeeded in 0 usecs [3.643956] [drm] ib test on ring 3 succeeded in 0 usecs [3.675793] [drm] ib test on ring 5 succeeded [3.689200] random: nonblocking pool is initialized [3.767466] FAT-fs (sda1): utf8 is not a recommended IO charset for FAT filesystems, filesystem will be case sensitive! Bug#747665: kdm: kde tries to read all files under /boot etc
Package: kdm Version: 4:4.11.8-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? Bug#470662: dspam: Running client-mode as normal user fails unless pgsql.conf is world-readable
Package: dspam Version: 3.6.8-5etch1 Severity: important If you run as a daemon with a DB backend, you won't want to make the configuration file (/etc/dspam/dspam.d/pgsql.conf) world-readable since it will contain the DB password.
