Bug#331707: gnome-session: missing icons on second session
Package: gnome-session Version: 2.10.0-5 Severity: normal If I log into a second gnome session (i.e. I am already logged in once) using the same home directory (I needn't even be at the same machine, using the same NFS home is enough), the desktop icons are missing. Instead, there is a white sheet of paper default icon. This only applies to native icons - the icon of a KDE app (Kaffeine) that also sits on my desktop is fine, as well as icons for windows apps that wine put there. I don't know if this is the right place to file this, but I can't think of any better place. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.13-ck4 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages gnome-session depends on: ii desktop-base 0.3.15 common files for the Debian Deskto ii gconf2 2.10.1-1GNOME configuration database syste ii gnome-control-center 1:2.10.1-4 utilities to configure the GNOME d ii libatk1.0-0 1.10.1-2The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libbonobo2-0 2.10.0-1Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libc62.3.5-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libesd0 0.2.36-1Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared ii libgconf2-4 2.10.1-1GNOME configuration database syste ii libglib2.0-0 2.8.0-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome2-0 2.10.1-1The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomeui-0 2.10.1-1The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.8-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-2 Inter-Client Exchange library ii liborbit21:2.12.2-2 libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpango1.0-01.8.2-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libsm6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-2 X Window System Session Management ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Window System protocol client li ii libxmu6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-2 X Window System miscellaneous util ii libxrandr2 6.8.2.dfsg.1-2 X Window System Resize, Rotate and ii libxt6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-2 X Toolkit Intrinsics ii xlibs4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu Versions of packages gnome-session recommends: ii gnome-panel 2.10.2-1 launcher and docking facility for ii metacity 1:2.10.2-1 A lightweight GTK2 based Window Ma ii nautilus 2.10.1-3 file manager and graphical shell f -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#331141: wrong libsdl1.2debian subspecies gets installed
Package: libsdl1.2debian Version: 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5.3 Severity: important During system installation, I selected ALSA sound system when I was asked for it. However, I couldn't get audio out of an SDL app (dosbox). After MUCH fiddling around, I found that libsdl1.2debian-oss was installed, however the alternative libsdl1.2debian-alsa SHOULD be installed. I don't think it's ok for a user to have to dive into the innards of library dependencies to find out that a wrong library was installed automatically. To be honest, dosbox audio now doesn't work either for my game in question, but at least it has stopped telling me that it cannot open an audio device. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.13-ck4 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages libsdl1.2debian depends on: ii libsdl1.2debi 1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-5.3 Simple DirectMedia Layer (with X11 libsdl1.2debian recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#330479: gtkpod: drag and drop fails irregularly
Package: gtkpod Version: 0.94.0-1 Severity: normal When I drag and drop files from nautilus to gtkpod, adding them to a playlist fails every now and then mysteriously. The files can only be dragged on a playlist entry in the playlist bar (which is a nuisance, but I can accept that). When I drop them on the default playlist 'gtkpod', they are sometimes accepted and added to the playlist. More often, a window titled Warning pops up: The following has occured: [sic] drag and drop: ignored 'file:///mnt/data/musik/Games/krondor/01_betrayal_at_krondor_theme.ogg' Well, I don't want the file to be ignored, but added to the playlist 'gtkpod', on which I dropped the file(s). And the above typo (isn't it 'occurred'? not a native speaker myself) might just as well be fixed (but I'd prefer not to see the window anyhow). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.13-ck4 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages gtkpod depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.10.1-2 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.3.5-4GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglade2-0 1:2.5.1-2 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.8.0-1The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.6.8-1The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libid3tag00.15.1b-7 ID3 tag reading library from the M ii libpango1.0-0 1.8.2-1Layout and rendering of internatio ii libxml2 2.6.20-1 GNOME XML library ii zlib1g1:1.2.2-9 compression library - runtime gtkpod recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. I'm going to close this bug unless there's a problem with that functionality. I tried jigdo once again (had it uninstalled in the meantime and installed aria instead, which works nicely with Mozilla Firefox Flashgot). Right, you can enter any http/ftp url in the window. Since this is non-obvious, I didn't spot this. If jigdo is meant to be a general purpose download manager, something ought to be done about the interface. Furthermore, jigdo seems to forget about running downloads when I close and restart the application - isn't that a grave bug for a download manager? I mean, what's its advantage compared to a browser's built-in download capability if it doesn't even remember downloads? Bug#309895: gnomebaker: MP3 - cd-audio conversion happens way too slow (audio realtime?)
Package: gnomebaker Version: 0.3+20050430-1 Severity: normal Hi, when I create an audio cd from a number of mp3 files, gnomebaker invokes mpg123 (really mpg321) with the -w option in order to convert the mp3 into wav files. However, the mpg123 process then only consumes a few percent of cpu perfomance (as seen on top) and wav conversion progresses extremely slowly. It seems that mpg123 with -w outputs audio data in realtime as opposed to as fast as possible, which i believe I have seen with the -s option (which I have used before). I also noted that a --resync option is used, which is undocumented and, judging from the source of mpg321, seems to be a no-op...? Anyway, this bug makes gnomebaker unusable for creating audio cds from mp3. Bug#309896: gnomebaker: Temporary wav files should be deleted ASAP (they're quite big)
Package: gnomebaker Version: 0.3+20050430-1 Severity: wishlist If I create an audio cd from mp3s and then abort the process (see my other bug why ;) ), the generated wav files will not be deleted until program termination. It'd be nice if they were deleted ASAP. Actually, I'm tight on disk space at present, that's why I noticed. If the files keep lying around after the full CD has been successfully created, this might be more than wishlist, but I can't verify this at present, due to my other bug. Bug#306131: xmms: alsa output stops playing when buffer underrun happens with alsa dmix
Package: xmms Version: 1.2.10-2 Severity: normal I'm using ALSA sound drivers with software mixing via the ALSA dmix plugin. My /etc/asound.conf is attached at the end of the bug report. Sometimes, often when e.g. maximizing a window or switching browser tabs, output suddenly stops. Xmms' playing time indicator just freezes, the play symbol still appears next to it. I believe this is linked to alsa buffer underruns like they are sometimes reported by mplayer and mpg123 on my system, but these programs handle them gracefully (typical mplayer output: alsa-space: xrun of at least 0,003 msecs. resetting stream). Xmms does not. I have increased the software mixer's buffer size in my asound.conf to a very high value. This seems to alleviate, but not solve the problem. When using a low buffer size, even plugging and unplugging an usb mouse almost consistently freezes xmms output. --- /etc/asound.conf --- pcm.!default { type plug slave.pcm swmixer } pcm.swmixer { type dmix ipc_key 123456 slave { pcm hw:0 period_time 0 period_size 1024 buffer_size 131072 rate 48000 } bindings { 0 0 1 1 } } pcm.dsp0 { type plug slave.pcm swmixer } ctl.mixer0 { type hw card 0 } -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-ck1 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages xmms depends on: ii libc62.3.2.ds1-20GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib1.2 1.2.10-9The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk1.21.2.10-17 The GIMP Toolkit set of widgets fo ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System Session Management ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxi6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-12.0.1 X Window System Input extension li ii xlibs4.3.0.dfsg.1-12 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
