Bug#805325: ntp: Please use upstream manpages

2015-11-16 Thread Sergey Lapin
Package: ntp

Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

Could you please use upstream manpages?
These are nice and have all options described,
and Debian-provided manpages are too sparce.

Thanks for the report. How reproducible is this? Can you try
  libgnutls26 from testing?

If it is reproducible with the latest version, please try 'gnutls-cli -d
4711' against the server and send the same IMAP commands that mutt did,
and post the final part of the debug output.

It could be a server disconnecting you, or a firewall messing with the
traffic. Possibly the server could be trying to re-handshake as well,
  and there is some bug.

Sergey, do you still see this problem?
No, fixed in newer packages. Thanks!

Bug#446372: random garbage lines on screen, especially on web browsing

2007-10-12 Thread Sergey Lapin
Subject: xserver-xorg-video-intel: random garbage lines on screen, especially
on web browsing
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.1.1-4
Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***
A problem is with Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook E8110.
At least in xrandr-based dual-head random horizontal garbage lines
appear on screen, sometimes making web browsing and other graphical
tasks impossible to achieve. Most excessive effect is during
browsing of sites with both graphics and text, but also appears
during xterm work or just moving windows around. Very annoying.
Not reproducible with linux-image-2.6.21-2-686

That's due to mkstemp call and O_EXCL in subsequent open of the same file.
I workaround this by removing O_EXCL, but I think it is either some
problem in glibc or code in lha needs to be reworked.

Bug#445092: linux-image-2.6.21-2-686: Acer 5562WXMi overheats and switches off when in Linux; Works with bundled WinXP

2007-10-03 Thread Sergey Lapin
Package: linux-image-2.6.21-2-686
Version: 2.6.21-6
Severity: important

After about 4 hours of use or less, depending on environment
temperature, laptop swithces off.
Fan works which is physically seen. I was unable to reproduce this in XP
even running demanding games.

I set ACPI parameters like this (per Ubuntu users suggestion):
echo -n powersave \
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
echo -n powersave \
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_governor
echo 10 /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS0/polling_frequency
echo 10 /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS1/polling_frequency
echo 100 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
echo 100 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

Some ACPI info:
cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS0/*
setting not supported
cooling mode: critical
polling disabled
state: ok
temperature: 73 C
critical (S5): 100 C

cat /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS1/*

setting not supported
cooling mode: critical
polling disabled
state: ok
temperature: 77 C
critical (S5): 120 C

These values increase dramatically during work and at some
point system is shut down.
When I dare to compile something, system is down faster than
in 4 hours. Notebook is really hot, and I think something inside
doesn't control fan properly. There is no handles to control fan
I'm aware of except automatically.

Bug#445092: Reproducible with 2.6.22-2 from unstable

2007-10-03 Thread Sergey Lapin
A problem is reproducible with 2.6.22 from unstable.
What is mostly makes me wonder at the moment is this:
there are 2 thermal zones, TZS0 and TZS1, with trip points 100 and 120 degs C,
respectively. But when temperature in TZS1 (with trip point 120) gets value 100
(trip point in TZS0) machine is switched off. Any ideas?
