Bug#550467: [openoffice.org] File dialogs are fucked up (not bar)

2009-10-10 Thread Simon Eugster

Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1:3.1.1-2
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
I don't know, but just nothing is working as expected regarding file
dialogs (open, save, anything).

* Files cannot be opened from the start page (already reported)

* File extension is _never_ automatically added, also when the checkbox
(which has no label text) to automatically add it is checked

* File dialogues _always_ point to the parent directory and not the one
I've been working in (example: I do file save as /tmp/ooo/a.odt, then I
again select file save as and I'm in /tmp instead of /tmp/ooo). Also for
standard directories set in the preferences and so on.

* File filters do _not_ work at all, when trying to insert an image only
directories are shown and /no single file/; filter is «Alle Formate
(*.bmp;*.dxf;*.emf;*.eps;*.gif;*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.jfif;*.jif;*.met;*.pbm;
*.pct;*.pict;*.pcx;*.pgm;*.png;*.ppm;*.psd;*.ras;*.sgf;*.sgv;*.svg;
*.svm;*.tga;*.tif;*.tiff;*.wmf;*.xbm;*.xpm;*.pcd)»

Only manually entering the filename (welcome to MS-DOS) is working.

I assume that's not yet the end of the list.

I'm using KDE4.

Bug#548773: closed by Laszlo Boszormenyi g...@debian.hu (neon27 v0.29.0 insecure algorithm error)

2009-10-05 Thread Simon Eugster

Hi Laszlo,

Thanks for your answer!
Would it be possible for subversion to nevertheless allow me to continue
with this operations? Or is that strictly forbidden by libneon?

Hi Simon,

It's an user error. Please read the details of this error message[1]. It
comes from GNU TLS, quoting the description:
GNUTLS_CERT_INSECURE_ALGORITHM:
The certificate was signed using an insecure algorithm such as
MD2 or MD5. These algorithms have been broken and should not be
trusted.

Please recreate your certificate with a trusted algorithm and it will be
fine with neon.

Since 0.29.0-1 I've got the following problem when trying to do anything
with svn (update, commit, checkout, whatever):

$ svn up
svn: OPTIONS von »https://myuri/...«: Certificate verification error:
signed using insecure algorithm (https://myuri)

Downgraded libneon27 and libneon27-gnutls to 0.28.6-1 solved the problem.

I tagged this as serious because users depending on svn and not knowing
the origin of this problem may really have a problem.

Bug#538300: [dolphin] Selection is wrong when using mouse, keyboard and shift-Arrow

2009-07-24 Thread Simon Eugster

Package: dolphin
Version: 4:4.2.4-1
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Thanks. Due to this bug I deleted about 20 GB data.

Reproducing:
You've e.g. the following files in your directory:
a
b
c
d
e
f
g

* Switch the view to «Details».
* Click on a (a will be selected).
* Press f (f will be selected, and _nothing else_).
* Press Shift-Down (arrow).

What do _you_ except to be selected now? I thought it should be f and g and
pressed Del. However ALL FILES were selected.

Sorry for my late answer, and thanks for yours.

In this case when I type

Thanks!

This is traditional Unix behaviour, I believe. The shell expands
the *.log pattern to -CEl-.log before giving it to ls, which then
does not know the argument came from a shell pattern originally.

The getopt() code in GNU libc is able to parse an environment
variable _PID_GNU_nonoption_argv_flags_ that indicates which
of the arguments should not be treated as options. This code is
between #ifdef USE_NONOPTION_FLAGS ... #endif:

http://sourceware.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/libc/posix/getopt.c?rev=1.57content-type=text/x-cvsweb-markupcvsroot=glibc
http://sourceware.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/libc/posix/getopt_init.c?rev=1.9content-type=text/x-cvsweb-markupcvsroot=glibc

According to bash/NEWS, support for this was disabled in
bash-2.01-alpha1 because it caused too many problems. However,
if you want to try it out, you can easily edit the bash sources
to reenable the feature, and recompile. I don't know how hard
it'd be to build glibc with USE_NONOPTION_FLAGS: perhaps you'd
just have to edit config.h after running configure, or perhaps
the code doesn't work any more.

KDE42 doesn't seem to have a desktop shortcut anymore, perhaps it is

First, you are using packages that are not in the Debian archive, so basically
 the bug is invalid.
Second, If you would have read the instructions before using the repos at

Subject: [kde4] Desktop shortcut is missing
 Package: kde4
 Version: 4.2RC
 Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

KDE42 doesn't seem to have a desktop shortcut anymore, perhaps it is
unintended? It is very nasty if one has to minimize all windows until one has
access to the desktop and its widgets.

Bug#511251: [icedove] If messages in Trash are flagged as Junk, they will be moved to the Junk directory

2009-01-08 Thread Simon Eugster

Package: icedove
Version: 2.0.0.19-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Imho sort of a non-logic behaviour, because the usual way messages go is
Inbox Junk Trash /dev/null. When I have messages in the Trash and
flag them as Junk, it is moved away from /dev/null towards the Inbox which
imho doesn't make sense, does it? :)

Bug#510473: [bash] ls * (and more) won't work when file is beginning with a - (dash)

2009-01-02 Thread Simon Eugster

Package: bash
Version: 3.2-4
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

I've got a file called -CEl-.log in my directory:

si...@sfreezer:~/test/sdfasdf$ ls
-CEl-.log
si...@sfreezer:~/test/sdfasdf$ ls *.log
ls: Ungültige Option -- E
„ls --help“ gibt weitere Informationen.
si...@sfreezer:~/test/sdfasdf$ ls *
ls: Ungültige Option -- E
„ls --help“ gibt weitere Informationen.
si...@sfreezer:~/test/sdfasdf$ mv -CEl-.log bla
mv: Ungültige Option -- C
„mv --help“ gibt weitere Informationen.
si...@sfreezer:~/test/sdfasdf$ mv -CEl-.log bla
mv: Ungültige Option -- C
„mv --help“ gibt weitere Informationen.
$ rm -CEl-.log
rm: Ungültige Option -- C
Versuchen Sie „rm ./-CEl-.log“, um die Datei „-CEl-.log“ zu entfernen.
„rm --help“ gibt weitere Informationen.

Well, it works that way:
si...@sfreezer:~/test/sdfasdf$ ls ./*
./-CEl-.log
si...@sfreezer:~/test/sdfasdf$ ls ./*.log
./-CEl-.log

I don't know whether this is a bug, but if not, there could be a note
somewhere that the commands above would work for ls.
