Bug#947002: wxmaxima version 19.07.0 onwards cannot display properly exponents
Package: wxmaxima Version: 19.12.1-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, Since version 19.07.0 onwards wxmaxima cannot display the exponents returned from Maxima. This issue does not apply when running maxima through a terminal or emacs. For example a simple ilt(1/(s+1),s,t) simply displays "e" in the wxmaxima session and nothing else. I've tried version 18.12.0-1 and was working correctly giving e^-t for the answer. I've also tried building the latest version from the git master branch but the same behaviour persists. Please advice what additional information I could supply to assist with debugging this issue. Bug#911794: bluetooth: Baseus B11: Poor audio quality HSP/HFP, terrible with a2dp sink
Package: bluetooth Version: 5.50-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, ** I am not sure if this is a bluetooth or pulseaudio issue :S ** New Baseus b11 device works seamlessly with my android 4.0 phone. Also pairing with Dell Latitude e5550 (current debian installation) works fine. However: * Sound streaming with HSP/HFP sounds like a poor 1950 recording with audio source away from microphone but you can still understand conversations or lyrics in music * Sound streaming with a2dp sink, is normal for ~5sec and then starts periodic cycles (~2 seconds) of fast-forwarding (with noise) -> Stop -> Fast Forwarding, etc. This is unusable. $ rfkill list 0: dell-wifi: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 1: dell-bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 2: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 4: phy1: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 7: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no package versions missing from auto report: * pulseaudio-module-bluetooth 12.2-2 * pulseaudio 12.2-2 $ lspci 02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7265 (rev 59) Subsystem: Intel Corporation Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 49 Memory at f700 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K] Capabilities: [c8] Power Management version 3 Capabilities: [d0] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+ Capabilities: [40] Express Endpoint, MSI 00 Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting Capabilities: [140] Device Serial Number 18-5e-0f-ff-ff-9f-2c-61 Capabilities: [14c] Latency Tolerance Reporting Capabilities: [154] L1 PM Substates Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi Kernel modules: iwlwifi $ hciconfig -a hci0: Type: Primary Bus: USB BD Address: 18:5E:0F:9F:2C:65 ACL MTU: 1021:5 SCO MTU: 96:6 UP RUNNING RX bytes:46259396 acl:441 sco:892779 events:97477 errors:0 TX bytes:105267095 acl:94171 sco:892691 commands:2626 errors:0 Features: 0xff 0xfe 0x0f 0xfe 0xdb 0xff 0x7b 0x87 Packet type: DM1 DM3 DM5 DH1 DH3 DH5 HV1 HV2 HV3 Link policy: RSWITCH HOLD SNIFF Link mode: SLAVE ACCEPT Class: 0x1c010c Service Classes: Rendering, Capturing, Object Transfer Device Class: Computer, Laptop HCI Version: 4.2 (0x8) Revision: 0x1000 LMP Version: 4.2 (0x8) Subversion: 0x1000 Manufacturer: Intel Corp. Bug#742206: elmo stores messages incorrectly with inhibit-eol-conversion set
Package: wl-beta Version: 2.15.9+0.20130701-6 Severity: important Tags: patch The patch 10_ikazuhiro.patch in -6 makes the following change in elmo-util.el: (defsubst elmo-delete-cr-region (start end) "Delete CR from region." - (save-excursion -(goto-char start) -(while (search-forward "\r\n" end t) - (replace-match "\n")) )) + (decode-coding-region start (or end (point-max)) 'raw-text-dos)) And later: (defun elmo-delete-cr (string) - (save-match-data -(elmo-set-work-buf - (insert string) - (goto-char (point-min)) - (while (search-forward "\r\n" nil t) - (replace-match "\n")) - (buffer-string + (decode-coding-string string 'raw-text-dos)) This is problematic because decode-coding-{region,string} won't strip CRs with raw-text-dos unless inhibit-eol-conversion is nil (see decode_coding_raw_text() in coding.c). And this variable is documented in the manual as a preference and may well have been changed from the default nil: Emacs recognizes which kind of end-of-line conversion to use based on the contents of the file: if it sees only carriage-returns, or only carriage-return linefeed sequences, then it chooses the end-of-line conversion accordingly. You can inhibit the automatic use of end-of-line conversion by setting the variable `inhibit-eol-conversion' to non-`nil'. If you do that, DOS-style files will be displayed with the `^M' characters visible in the buffer; some people prefer this to the more subtle `(DOS)' end-of-line type indication near the left edge of the mode line (*note eol-mnemonic: Mode Line.). So now, if inhibit-eol-conversion is non-nil, elmo will cache the message with the CRs and various things that parse the stored message using regexps and expect headers to end in LFs will break. (I first noticed this when mmbuffer-parse-multipart in flim/mmbuffer.el started producing message/x-broken messages). The fix seems trivial: (defsubst elmo-delete-cr-region (start end) "Delete CR from region." (let ((inhibit-eol-conversion nil)) (decode-coding-region start (or end (point-max)) 'raw-text-dos))) (defun elmo-delete-cr (string) (let ((inhibit-eol-conversion nil)) (decode-coding-string string 'raw-text-dos))) Thanks, -- Stelios. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#729897: nicstat uses incorrect duplex mode
Package: nicstat Version: 1.92-1 Severity: important Tags: patch nicstat uses the nic's duplex mode (as obtained via ioctl or from the command line) to work out utilisation, like so: half duplex: (tx + rx) / speed full duplex: max(tx, rx) / speed The code that calculates this checks the duplex mode against a numeric value (`2') that (apparently) is the value of DUPLEX_FULL on Solaris. On Linux, DUPLEX_FULL has a different value and so nicstat will always treat full duplex cards as half duplex and get the utilisation wrong; hence the increased severity. The code that prints the interface list does use the macro so the duplex mode is displayed correctly. diff --git a/nicstat.c b/nicstat.c index 3b028d7..daa87cc 100644 --- a/nicstat.c +++ b/nicstat.c @@ -2076,7 +2076,7 @@ print_stats() * 100 for the % conversion, and 8 for * bytes2bits. */ - if (nicp->duplex == 2) + if (nicp->duplex == DUPLEX_FULL) /* Full duplex */ if (wbps > rbps) util = wbps * 800 / nicp->speed; Thanks, -- Stelios. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#729895: nicstat may miscalculate nic speed
Package: nicstat Version: 1.92-1 Tags: patch On Linux, when nicstat obtains nic info via ioctl SIOCETHTOOL, it picks up the speed from a struct ethtool_cmd, where it's stored as a u16 in Mbps, and multiplies it by the integer literal 100 to get bps. Bug#367983: gnuserv built without Unix Domain sockets, Internet Domain sockets or System V IPC
Package: gnuserv Version: 3.12.7-2.1 Severity: grave Tags: patch Gnuserv's configure script has some logic (at line 1493) to edit out X header and library directories that are the same as the default /usr/include and /usr/lib & /lib. This is a problem now that Xorg packages actually place their files in these locations. Specifically, the check above causes gnuserv's configure to add a plain "-I" to CPPFLAGS after checking for X being present, thereby making subsequent tests by invoking cpp like so: gcc -E -I conftest.c This causes all subsequent tests to fail (including the socket ones) and eventually compiles a gnuclient that simply exits with an error message (see gnuclient.c:63). I'm not sure how to best fix this, but there are at least two ways: 1) Disable the code that prunes default paths in configure (though I can't test the veracity of the comment there regarding gcc breaking etc.) E.g. --- configure.orig 2006-05-19 00:42:47.0 +0100 +++ configure 2006-05-19 00:42:58.0 +0100 @@ -1494,11 +1494,9 @@ # bogus both because they are the default anyway, and because # using them would break gcc on systems where it needs fixed includes. case "$ac_im_incroot" in - /usr/include) ;; *) test -f "$ac_im_incroot/X11/Xos.h" && ac_x_includes="$ac_im_incroot" ;; esac case "$ac_im_usrlibdir" in - /usr/lib | /lib) ;; *) test -d "$ac_im_usrlibdir" && ac_x_libraries="$ac_im_usrlibdir" ;; esac fi 2) Invoke configure with "--x-includes=/usr/include --x-libraries=/usr/lib" in debian rules to bypass the "checking for X" test completely. Bug#359640: nfs-common fails to stop when lockd is not running
Package: nfs-common Version: 1.0.7-4 Severity: important Tags: patch When NEED_LOCKD is not set to "yes" and lockd is not running, the nfs-common init script uses pkill to kill any running lockds anyway. This call is not protected with a "|| true" clause, and the init script fails to stop and restart because it uses "set -e". Bug#344147: Meta key cannot be used for M- keybindings
Package: lyx-qt Version: 1.3.6-1 Severity: minor Tags: patch, upstream When using the Emacs keybindings, many Lyx functions are bound to keystrokes that are documented and shown in the menus prefixed with M- (Meta). This key is associated with the Mod1 modifier on my Sun type 5 and type 6 keyboards and (presumably) other keyboards with Meta keys. On PC keyboards, Mod1 is bound to Alt. The xforms version of Lyx checks for this modifier and works as expected. The Qt version doesn't, because it only checks for Alt. As the shortcuts in lyx-qt haven't been changed to read "Alt-" and the previous xforms version used to work fine with Meta keys, I'm considering this a regression -- hence the non-wishlist severity. The simple patch below fixes this problem by treating Alt and Meta the same in the Qt frontend. It is submitted here in hopes of inclusion in an upcoming revision, and to keep my number of useless Bugzilla accounts down ;) diff -Nuar lyx-1.3.6_orig/src/frontends/qt2/QContentPane.C lyx-1.3.6/src/frontends/qt2/QContentPane.C --- lyx-1.3.6_orig/src/frontends/qt2/QContentPane.C 2005-07-14 09:42:47.0 +0100 +++ lyx-1.3.6/src/frontends/qt2/QContentPane.C 2005-12-18 02:46:59.0 + @@ -36,7 +36,7 @@ k |= key_modifier::ctrl; if (state & Qt::ShiftButton) k |= key_modifier::shift; - if (state & Qt::AltButton) + if (state & Qt::AltButton || state & Qt::MetaButton) k |= key_modifier::alt; return k; } Cheers, Stelios Bounanos (sb()enotty()net) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#299658: Adding patch
tags 299658 + patch thanks This bug is caused by failing to increment an offset variable (used to detect EOF) in quiet and silent mode. Further, whether the affected code is run depends on block size, redundancy level, memory limit and input file size, so the bug is not always triggered. File sizes above a few hundred megs typically crash the program but small files don't. This has also been reported upstream: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1085638&group_id=30568&atid=399698 I'm submitting the following trivial fix here as upstream seems to be inactive at the moment.
