Bug#1069898: mariadb-server: Command History is shared for all users

2024-04-26 Thread Thomas Schlegel
Package: mariadb-server
Version: 1:10.11.6-0+deb12u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

on a link via socket between Client and Server there is only one history of
Commands.

Especially the root history is seen by normal user.

Bug#798433: qemu-system-x86: kvm's std graphical interface broken for greater one than SVGA

2015-09-13 Thread Thomas Schlegel

I've build a clean stable testsytem (qemu* 1:2.1+dfsg-12+deb8u2).

This Bug is existing also there. A partial downgrade to wheezy isn't
possible.

After I've seen the list of packages, I presume

xserver-xorg-video-modsettings and ABI-18 is the source of the problem.

Since the upgrade to jessie 8.2 kvm's standard graphical Interface for >
1024x768 broken. This package is not upgraded, but I report this error here,
because I
have no Idea, where is the cause for this Error.

Virtual Machines (old or new installed) switch the Display not, when Display
mode is modified to be higher.
The graphical Output contain a lot of mirror stripes.

Starting with option " -vga vmware " shows the old behaviour. So I do that.

Thanks Thomas

Bug#569602: Installer handles secondary disks like RAID not correctly

2010-02-12 Thread Thomas Schlegel
package: install-reportsSeverity: important
testet with lenny(5.0.4) build 20100131-1916 and squeeze d-i 20100110-22:52For
me is the Severity serious, because I can't install DebianThe Architecture is
i386 (CDROM/DVD)
After creating a RAID-Device there is no Posibility to handle this as Disk. -
Creating a partition table - formating and mounting subpartitions like
/dev/mdXpY
If the RAID-Device raw (as one partition) it is possible to continiue with
formating. In this Case follow this Message:
"Warning: The kernel was unaable to re-read the partition table on
/dev/mdX(invalid argument). This means Linux won't know anything about the
modificationsyou made until you reboot. You should reboot your computer before
doinganything with /dev/mdX"
Because there is no partition table reboot can't solve the problem.
On this error message and makes the same (continiue).

Bug#514982: mke2fs option -i works not like documentation

2009-02-12 Thread Thomas Schlegel
Package: e2fsprogs
Version: 1.41.3
Severity: minor

mke2fs -i 1M print a error like
"wrong bytes-per-inode ratio (min 1024/max 65536)"
but
mke2fs -i 1048576 build the filesystem correct.

Other value are also possible (like 1234567).

For large filesystems and devices with few large files is a large range
of the bytes-per-inode ratio important.

The Error is first 2exp(n) in the short form should be working,
and second short help and man-pages are wrong.

Bug#378534: The Installer can't found CDROM and HDD on Intel 82801FBM SATA Controller

2006-07-17 Thread Thomas Schlegel

Package: installation
Version: weakly-CD 10.07.2006
Severity: important

The Chip 82801FBM is used in better Notebooks (Lenovo;IBM, Samsung, Acer
and HP I found).

Normal Installation failed to mount CDROM/DVD after booting.

install libata.atapi_enabled=1 dosent work!

I have not found yet the Kernel Option in 2.6 to boot the System.

workaround: 'install24' can install the basic system. 50% of the
hardware is working.
Then you can make a new linux-kernel. The kernel-2.4.x
says HDD is /dev/hda(c),

but the kernel-2.6.x says HDD is /dev/sda(c).
Also with Knoppix I can boot the System.

Bug#365987: Can't create and use systemwide Repositories as normal user

2006-05-04 Thread Thomas Schlegel

Package: subversion
Version: 1.3.1-2
Severity: important

If I create a Repository as root, I can't use it as user.
If I create a Repository as normal user in my $HOME, other users can't
use it.

My Sugesstion is to make a Group like 'svngroup', ask for the Location
of the
Repositories like CVS do and set the Rights of this Directory
"drwxrwsr-x root svngroup ...".
