Bug#925398: gnome-keyring: Checkbox in password prompt does not remember state

2023-01-23 Thread Tobias Bengfort
I think the checkbox goes away if libpam-gnome-keyring is uninstalled.
This works as a temporary workaround, but is not a real solution.

Dear Maintainer,

$ ykman oath accounts add foo bar

always results in

The only way to prevent this is to explicitly pass both oath type and
algorithm:

$ ykman oath accounts -o TOTP -a SHA1 add foo bar

Bug#970579: libvte-2.91-0: OSC 7 does not work with my hostname

2020-09-19 Thread Tobias Bengfort
Package: libvte-2.91-0
Version: 0.54.2-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

OSC 7 seems to be the preferred way to implement preserving the working
directory when opening a new tab[1]. As far as I know this has not been
properly standardized[2]. However, since this package implements both
ends of the protocol (/etc/profile.d/vte-2.91.sh and
vte_terminal_get_current_directory_uri) that should not be an issue.

However, it didn't work for me. I did a bit of debugging and found that
it works fine if I hardcode the hostname in /etc/profile.d/vte-2.91.sh
to "localhost" or "". If I hardcode it to an arbitrary wrong hostname it
still works. Only the correct hostname seems to be an issue.

I temporarily changed my hostname from "2902toc" to "test" and it also
worked. So maybe libvte doesn't like my hostname?

My workaround is to hardcode the hostname in /etc/profile.d/vte-2.91.sh
to "".

Bug#969051: libgtk-3-0: Segfault with some radial gradients in theme

2020-08-26 Thread Tobias Bengfort
Package: libgtk-3-0
Version: 3.24.5-1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

I noticed that a specially crafted CSS theme causes all gtk3
applications to segfault. The issue seems to be related to some forms of
radial gradients, e.g.:

```
background: radial-gradient(ellipse farthest-side, blue, green);
```

I am not entirely sure if the syntax is even correct, but it should not result
in a segfault either way.

Bug#925398: gnome-keyring: Checkbox in password prompt does not remember state

2019-03-24 Thread Tobias Bengfort
Package: gnome-keyring
Version: 3.20.0-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after login, a prompt shows up asking me to unlock the keyring. It
contains a checkbox with the label "Automatically unlock this keyring
whenever I'm logged in". It is checked by default. I always uncheck it.

One time I forgot to uncheck this checkbox. The result was that I was
never asked again. It took some time until I noticed the absence of the
prompt. Then I had to find out that I had to open seahorse and delete
the "Login" keyring to restore the original behavior.

I think the checkbox in its current state is pretty much useless. As I
have just explained, this is not a case-by-case decision but a permanent
one. So the state of this checkbox should be remembered or the whole
checkbox should be moved somewhere else.

I know that seahorse has worked fine some time ago, but I am not sure when I

Bug#896089: cplay: Please move to new upstream source

2018-04-19 Thread Tobias Bengfort
Package: cplay
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

the version of cplay that is packaged with debian is 7 years old. The
upstream source is no longer active, but there are two active forks I
know of: (maintained by myself) and
.

Both forks have fixed several bug, refactored the code to modern
coding python coding standards (e.g. pep8), and support python3. They
have also added support for new backends like gst123 and mpv. My
version is packaged for pypi. We activly share patches.

Note that I started my fork after reporting
.

Given that python2 support will end in 2020, I would like to ask you

Bug#837645: Info received (Bug#837645: linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64: iwlwifi module fails to load)

2016-09-13 Thread Tobias Bengfort
I checked again and it seems like I am still running the old kernel version:

  $ uname -a
  Linux xxx 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt25-1 (2016-03-06)
x86_64 GNU/Linux

So I guess this is not an issue with the kernel itself but rather with
my boot setup. So I guess this report can be closed.

Severity: important

Hi,

since I switched to 64-bit I was not able to start nm-applet. Digging
further into the problem revealed that no D-Bus objects were exposed to
my non-privileged user:

$ mdbus2 --system org.freedesktop.NetworkManager
/

$ pkexec mdbus2 --system org.freedesktop.NetworkManager

I did not mess with any polkit settings. I did also not experience any
D-Bus/polkit issues with any other programs.

Please tell me which additional information I should provide.

Bug#695432: openbox: missing dependency: python-xdg

2012-12-07 Thread Tobias Bengfort
Subject: openbox: missing dependency: python-xdg
Package: openbox
Version: 3.5.0-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

/usr/lib/openbox-xdg-autostart uses python-xdg.
If it is not present neither the files in /etc/autostart
nor those in ~/.config/autostart are executed on startup.

This is especially annoying since it affects the policykit
agents. When those are not started, many parts of the system
become unusable.

So please add python-xdg as dependency for openbox.

Bug#690127: Issues: switch dm to get an active consolekit session

2012-10-10 Thread Tobias Bengfort
Package: release-notes
Severity: important

When not using k/g/lightdm the consolekit session is not considered
active which makes many parts of the system unusable.

Reading the bug reports (e.g. http://bugs.debian.org/598150

So please include a paragraph about this in the Issues to be aware of

Bug#687062: wine64-bin: missing copyright file

2012-09-15 Thread Tobias Bengfort
If I saw correctly adding wine64-bin as package in lines 344/345 in
rules would fix this:

  dh_installdocs -plibwine$(VERSUFFIX)
  dh_installchangelogs -plibwine$(VERSUFFIX)

It should also be removed from doclink.sh so no symlink is created.

I also suggest using df_installdocs' --link-doc option to create the
symlinks instead of a self written script.

Unluckily I cannot build the package atm so someone else needs to
actually make the changes. I hope this information helps.

Bug#673268: libqtwebkit4: utterly incorrect debian/copyright

2012-09-15 Thread Tobias Bengfort
I tried to continue the copyright file Elena started.

* removed the text bodys of common licenses as they can be
   found in /usr/share/common-licenses/
* renamed the apple license to MIT-apple based on [1].
* I also found [2] which seems to clear the mistery about
   Source/cmake/FindLibXlst.cmake and
   Source/cmake/FindSqlite.cmake. Turned out to be
   BSD-3-clause. COPYING-CMAKE-SCRIPTS is attached.

I did not really understand the stuff about merging file paragraphs so
I went on like Elena had stared. But around
Source/JavaScriptCore/runtime I gave up. There are so many subfolders I
gave up on the idea this could be done by hand. I really don't know how
this can be done without someone wasting a lot of his or her lifetime.

Anyway I hop my additions help.

Bug#687062: wine64-bin: missing copyright file

2012-09-14 Thread Tobias Bengfort
I am not completely sure, but I guess the file is missing for all
packages created from the wine source package.

I had a look at the code, but I unfortunately do not really understand
it. I guess debian/doclink.sh is important for this bug.
