Bug#505281:

2009-03-11 Thread Tomasz Ka%u017Amierczak
For quite some time now, I haven't encountered this problem any more.
Moreover, the bug report in VirtualBox BT system claims that this is
already resolved somewhere around 2.x, which is already in Debian.

If nobody has this problem after upgrading to the 2.1.4, then, as for
me, the bug can be closed.

Bug#505281: Flood of VBox errors (assertion failure reports) in system log files

2008-11-11 Thread Tomasz Ka%u017Amierczak
Package: virtualbox-ose
Version: 1.6.6-dfsg-2
Severity: serious

There is some assertion failure in VirtualBox that is being outputed
(thousand times a second? something like that) to /var/log/kern.log,
/var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog.
This causes these files to grow very quickly untill the / filesystem is
full. After five days of extensive usage of VirtualBox all the files
have 1.5 GB of size each (4.5 GB altogether) and my root partition is
full. Then I have to manually remove these files in order to be able to
use my system again.

It seems that this is this, and only this, message:

Nov 10 20:32:34 localhost kernel: [ 5655.155124]
Nov 10 20:32:34 localhost kernel: [ 5655.155125] !!R0-Assertion Failed!!
Nov 10 20:32:34 localhost kernel: [ 5655.155126] Expression: NULL
Nov 10 20:32:34 localhost kernel: [ 5655.155127] Location :
/build/buildd/virtualbox-ose-1.6.6-dfsg/src/VBox/VMM/VMMAll/PGM
AllPool.cpp(2738) void pgmPoolTracDerefGCPhys(PGMPOOL*, PGMPOOLPAGE*,
RTHCPHYS, RTGCPHYS)

repeated many, many times (there is so much of these asserts that it's
impossible to check whether there are some other VBox outputs).

System: Debian testing AMD64.
The VBox kernel module is compiled from source (virtualbox-ose-source,
1.6.6-dfsg-2).

Bug#502346: virtualbox-ose-modules package older than virtualbox-ose

2008-10-15 Thread Tomasz Ka%u017Amierczak
Package: virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.26-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.26+1.6.2-dfsg-4
Severity: serious

The virtualbox-ose has been updated recently to version 1.6.6, but the
kernel-modules package for VBox (virtualbox-ose-modules) hasn't.
This makes VBox unusable - when trying to start a virtual machine, I get
such error:

The version of the VirtualBox kernel modules and the version of
VirtualBox application are not matching. You can correct this by either
installing the correct virtualbox-ose-modules package (if available)
through apt-get or by building it manually with: module-assistant
auto-install virtualbox-ose.
VBox status code: -1912 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_VERSION_MISMATCH).

Bug#492488: iceweasel: crashes on startup (x64)

I also don't have any problems with Iceweasel 3.0.1-1 on my Debian
Lenny/testing AMD64 system (unfortunately I don't know how to print
those useful system information that everyone here gave)

Bug#501346: tomcat5.5 fails to install in postinst script stage

I've just looked on the list of the package bugs and found out that my
bug report is a duplicate of #495235.
Sorry for that - seems that I was too tired yesterday...

Bug#501346: tomcat5.5 fails to install in postinst script stage

2008-10-06 Thread Tomasz Ka%u017Amierczak
Package: tomcat5.5
Severity: serious

The tomcat5.5 (5.5.26-3) package instalation fails in postinst stage.
The package is installed, but the package is not configured.
The error I get is:
E: tomcat5.5: subprocess post-installation script returned an error code 1
(or something like this - it's translated from Polish)

Don't know if it is relevant, but there is also an information that
there is no JAVA_HOME env variable set (although Java is installed -
openjdk)

Looks like your libgadu installation is OK, but there probably is
another config file shadowing the packaged one.

changed the name of libgadu.pc into gadu.pc and pkg-config sees this

This behaviour would support my theory of another libgadu.pc file
 shadowing the proper one.

You should be able to find the culprit with the following command:

 strace -e open pkg-config --libs libgadu 21|grep \\.pc

This is the output of the strace command:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:[~]$ strace -e open pkg-config --libs libgadu 21|grep
\\.pc
open(/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/libgadu.pc, O_RDONLY) = 3
Perhaps you should add the directory containing [EMAIL PROTECTED]@.pc'

It seems that you were right - I have at least two libgadu.pc files, one
in /usr/local/lib/... and the other in /usr/lib/...

I think it can be caused by improper uninstall of some of the previous
versions of kadu, that I've installed from sources and that contained
libgadu.

So this bug report seems to be invalid.
Should I do anything beyond removing the old libgadu? In order to fix my
system?

Tomasz Kaźmierczak

Bug#495157:

2008-08-15 Thread Tomasz Ka%u017Amierczak
Ok. I've found out how to fix this:D
Just rename the /usr/lib/pkgconfig/libgadu.pc to
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/gadu.pc and just do

$pkg-config gadu --libs

instead of

$pkg-config libgadu --libs

when configuring the sources that depend on libgadu.
Don't know if this solution will be accepted upstream - maybe it's just
a bug in Debian's pkg-config?

Bug#495157: libgadu not seen by pkg-config and linker

2008-08-14 Thread Tomasz Ka%u017Amierczak
Package: libgadu-dev
Version: 1:1.8.0+r592-2
Severity: important

While compiling kadu (upstrean svn-trunk source), which depends on
libgadu, I get an error that the libgadu is not present in the system
(kadu uses cmake, which uses pkg-config to check for needed deps).

Although libgadu-dev is installed, the pkg-config displays such error:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:[svn]$ pkg-config libgadu --libs
Package @REQUIRES@ was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing [EMAIL PROTECTED]@.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package '@REQUIRES@', required by 'libgadu', not found

I've removed the libgadu dependendy checking from the configuration
script, but I got a lot of linker errors (related to libgadu) when gcc
tried to link the executable.

System: Debian lenny/testing AMD64
