Bug#575027: [enigmail] New upstream release fixes important security bugs

2010-03-22 Thread UlisesVitulli

Package: enigmail
Version: 2:0.95.0+1-4
Serverity: important

Hello!

A new version of the enigmail software (1.0.1) has been released on
early days of January.

Between the new features added, there is a list containing an amount of
aprox 172 bug fixes, several of them focus on security.

Given the fact that Enigmail is mainly an application that is conceived
to bring confidence and an idea of security around identity, I consider
that it's very important for this software to sync up, that's why I set
a higher severity.

Please consider packaging this new version as soon as possible, I offer
myself to give you a hand on particularly this aspect or in aspect
related to this package, including a participation on the maintenance of
this software.

I've indeed contacted Weasel already so we could end up with a widely
useful solution, not only for Vidalia, but for any other Tor GUI

Hi Jeremy!

I've to say I'm fully aware about this problem, unfortunately, I'm
almost sure policy is against of any interaction with other packages
files than the ones carried by itself , in this case, tor's init
scripts, so some kind of user-interaction must have to show up around
this.

I'm trying to find out a possible nicer solution in the meantime.

Bug#512735: [Fingerforce-devel] Bug#512735: libfprint0: fails with 2.6.28-1

2009-04-30 Thread UlisesVitulli
Hello OdyX!

I take the opportunity to update this bug and put up with some news.

I've been talking with libusb Debian maintainer and he confirmed our
guess about some issues relating 2.6.28 kernels.
These are the alternatives:
- use 2.6.29
- use 2.6.28.X with X >= 4
- use <= 2.6.27
2.6.28 to 2.6.28.3 have the usb broken.

On the other hand, as I already mentioned before, there's going to be a
completely new and backwards compatibility broken branch of libfprint,
unfortunately, it seems that upstream GIT repository has been dead for
more than a month, and nobody gives life signals in its mailing lists.

Hope there will be some news from them soon!

Greetings,

Dererk

Hi Lukian the Wizard!

Current releases of xchat-xsys include Audacious support to acquire
information about reproducing media over DBus, in contrast with the
older ones.

Unfortunately this is not a "disable feature if wanted", it comes by
default and it's not parametrizable.

Patching this would be suggested to upstream though, but by now, there's
no other solution than patching sources.

We, main upstream and who is writing, have been doing code auditory
and found that current version in Lenny has a very serious performance
killer bug as some bad sql queries makes unnecessary updates on
tables, becoming in DB critical when using more than 10 servers
reporting logs.

In the same upload, upstream fixed some SQL Injection and XSS affected
frontend forms.

We have worked against clock to finish this debian-specific release
before testing freezes, but unfortunately didn't get fast enough. So
I'll request freeze exception as this is very important to Lenny
integration, IMHO.

Hi Daniel!

I've checked license and though it's a little confusing, it seems to
allow autobuilding and binary distribution[1].

What license strictly restricts is the modification of any of this files:
ltmarsmodem.c
linuxif.h
ltmdmobj.o
Makefile
ltinst
ltuninst
README

Current martian-modem driver is patched to work perfectly with 2.6.24
as it was "focused" on Lenny release
(I've not checked if It correctly builds against, for example, 2.6.25).

If it's possible for you, I would be pleased if you do so, but don't
give it a high relevance over others, this drivers is most for old
hardware support.

Thanks for your work and care.

Unfortunately it does not provide a license with it, which, as our

Do you think It will be possible for you to get the proper permissions

If not, do you think it would be possible for you to provide us a
