I have not used that computer for a at least 3 years. In the end, it had developed motherboard problem also. Even if I dig it out, I am not sure if it worth the effort. So I guess it could be closed up. -- Virgo Pärna virgo.pa...@mail.ee -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Bug#528746: smbfs: Because deprecated codepage options accented characters in filenames are not supported on Windows 95/98/ME
Those are not actual servers but workstations. Shares are mounted for making backups. But if it's unlikely to be fixed, then I'll try to create alternative way to backup using smbclient (at least until fusesmb or smbnetfs is fixed, so that they work). If there only were a way to stop smbclient reporting every file it gets with mget -- Virgo Pärna AS Gaiasoft vi...@gaiasoft.ee -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Ok, now I'm out of ideas. I modified /etc/init.d/checkroot.sh file to see, if ac module is loaded and what is the result of "on_ac_power ; echo $?" and "cat /sys/class/power_supply/ACAD/online". The power is connected during the startup. Results are: "lsmod | grep ac" shows, that ac module is loaded. But "on_ac_power ; echo $?" returns 1 and "cat /sys/class/power_supply/ACAD/online" returns 0 But when system is completely started, then "on_ac_power ; echo $?" returns 0 and "cat /sys/class/power_supply/ACAD/online" returns 1 And I am fresh out of ideas to check. -- Virgo Pärna virgo.pa...@mail.ee -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#501935: Info received (USB mass storage devica (Pentax Optio E50 camera) is not accesible with USB cable)
Newest kernels should now have workarounds in it (2.6.27 should also have it backported - but not for 2.6.26 (I think)). The problem was, that several devices report invalid sector count (1 more then there is) and that causes problems, when attempt is made to read last sector. Newest kernels have workaround for all Nikon, Pentax, Nokia and Motorola devices. I'm also including entire message text about adding update to 2.6.27 tree. But udev change helped to work around it in existing system. This is a note to let you know that we have just queued up the patch titled Subject: USB: usb-storage: add Pentax to the bad-vendor list to the 2.6.27-stable tree. Its filename is usb-usb-storage-add-pentax-to-the-bad-vendor-list.patch A git repo of this tree can be found at http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary >From 506e9469833c66ed6bb9acd902e208f7301b6adb Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Alan Stern Date: Wed, 4 Feb 2009 15:48:03 -0500 Subject: USB: usb-storage: add Pentax to the bad-vendor list MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit From: Alan Stern commit 506e9469833c66ed6bb9acd902e208f7301b6adb upstream. This patch (as1202) adds Pentax to usb-storage's list of bad vendors whose devices always need the CAPACITY_HEURISTICS flag. This is in addition to the existing entries: Nokia, Nikon, and Motorola. That might indeed be the cause for your problem. Did you build a minimal > initramfs or didnt you change anything in that regard? Not that i know. I'm currently using 2.6.26-13 kernel package. /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf has MODULES=most line and /etc/initramfs-tools/modules is empty (except standard commented out lines). > > And, can you please upgrade your powermgmt-base package (to the new version > in > lenny) and reboot and see, if that fixes the problem? Message appears right after message about activating swap. Earlier messages go past so fast, that I can't really read them. I don't think, that the fact, that I am using jfs filesystem changes anything about this? When Googling around, I found the hints, that the problem may be caused by ac module being not loaded, when filesystem checks are done. -- Virgo Pärna virgo.pa...@mail.ee -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
