Bug#385288: libapache2-svn sometimes create db logs owned by root

That's the culprit, then. With the bdb backend, _no_ operation is
truly read-only - even 'svnlook youngest' writes to log files, and can
create new log files. This is an implementation choice in the Berkeley
DB library, so it cannot be fixed in Subversion.

Thanks for reporting this --- the bug report serves as useful
documentation for anyone considering whether the bdb backend is
 appropriate for their particular setup.

I'd like to go a step further: do you remember what documentation you
looked at when coming up with your setup and later when investigating
its misbehavior? Any ideas for hints that could save future readers
 from the same trouble?

It was long time ago ;-) We switched to fsfs repository type.

As I remember it was a standart apache configuration to serve many repositories
from parent directory with user authorization.

Bug#619364: linux-image-2.6.38-1-amd64: forcedeth module blocks new tcp connections after some time

2011-03-23 Thread Vitalie Lazu
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.38-1
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze sid

After some time (16 hours or so) my computer blocks new tcp connections to
internet.
Local network works perfect, I can connect to my wireless router to tcp port 80.
Ping also works to external networks, existing connections also works and data
is transfered without any problems or delay.

The main problem is that it can not create any new connections, I do not have
any
firewall installed. In the past I used OSX in the same environment at home and
these
problems did not happen. My computer is online all the time, but this network
issue
make problems to me.

I have to reboot debian to make network connections work again. It also fails
to reboot
my computer, it hangs after wrintting to console that system will be rebooted.
Power off
works perfectly. I had to shutdown it by pressing power button for 5 seconds
and start it again.

I tried to remove module forcedeth from kernel and add it again, stopped eth0
interface,
disconnected network cable, nothing helped. The bug is also present in Squeeze
kernel.

How can I help to debug this problem further and fix it?

Any help will be appreciated,
Thanks.

Bug#616044: mc hangs when entering a rails project with untrusted .rvmrc inside

2011-03-01 Thread Vitalie Lazu
Package: mc
Version: 3:4.7.0.9-1
Severity: normal

I copied recently a lot of projects from my work computer to home PC.
When I try to enter a rails project that have untrusted .rvmrc inside,
mc hangs and I can not do anything with kde konsole, other than force
close it.

At the beginning and I could not find that issue is because of rvm files.

A workaround is to use simple shell to enter project directory and trust
..rmvrc file, after mc works like usual.

Using zsh as a shell.

2009-11-23 Thread Vitalie Lazu
Package: apache2
Version: During package upgrade, apache2 is stopped but it is not started again
Severity: important

Maybe this is because that apache does not start when system boot.
We disabled it because we need to enter ssl password by hand, so we start it
manually.

PS: This issue is for lenny, but I report bug from my pc.

 Anyway, it's seems :

Could you please check what prevented the sync to occur ? (the rsync on

There was a problem with push hook on ftp.ua.d.o
Now we fixed it and we get updates.

The ftp works only when active mode is forced. You should check

I opened 20 port for ftp transfers, also I added a range of ports for

Bug#514773: debian.md mirror submission: trace file, push mirroring ?

Indeed, a mirror dropping architecture because of a lack of space impact

We decided to mirror all architectures: we add 2 at a time, now we mirror ia64

alpha arm armel hppa hurd-i386 m68k mipsel mips

Next we will add *alpha* and *arm* and so on.

  Archive-upstream: ftp.ua.debian.org
  Security-upstream: ftp.ua.debian.org

What are the next steps ?

1/ Fix a little trace file issue

http://debian.md/debian/project/trace/ show two files from you :
 ka3.kirsan.md 26-Feb-2009 11:07
 www.debian.md 26-Feb-2009 11:07

Only one should be present (no need to create one youself, ftpsync takes

fixed

2/ Setup push mirroring with ftp.ua.debian.org so that you get updates
as soon you can pull them (optimized freshness :-) :
 http://debian.org/mirror/push_mirroring

We can provide you the contact of ftp.ua.d.o if you are interested in
 push mirroring.
I sent an email to rsync[xspam]debian.org.ua, got email from rsync greetings
message.
Now we are waiting for a responce, please tell me if I need to send a message
to different address.

3/ We add your mirror to the list.

Bug#453618: /usr/bin/kded: kded takes 99% of CPU when kmail is started and wallet password is entered after 5 minutes

2007-11-30 Thread Vitalie Lazu
Package: kdelibs4c2a
Version: 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-3
Severity: important
File: /usr/bin/kded

On my laptop I see this bug from sarge distribution.

When KDE starts it automatic starts kmail and because I have imap/pop3
passwords stored in
wallet, it prompts me for the wallet password. If I fill password immediately
it works ok,
but if I enter it after 5 minutes (i have a phone call, etc.) kded begins to
consume a lot
of CPU. After I enter password kmail checks my email, but kded still take a lot
of CPU.
It does not work even if logout and kill X session. If I kill kded myself, then
kmail asks
me for mail boxes passwords. I need to logout and login again to avoid such
situation.

Bug#448373: libglut3: There is not symlink for libglut.so - libglut.so.3.8.0

2007-10-28 Thread Vitalie Lazu
Package: libglut3

after I created symlink by hand, compilation succeds.
The same error I found for lame package, when enabling mp3 support, symlink
to libmp3lame.so is not included in the package.
I changed libmp3lame0.files to include it by modifying pattern:
from usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.* to usr/lib/libmp3lame.so*

I think the same error is here.

/in the end/ you did have libtool and automake1.9 installed though.

However after reading the install log again, I agree with Junichi that
this looks like an aptitude bug. I would suspect this is related to
the switch from aptitude to APT to handle automatically installed

It looks to me like a bad pkgstates file generated by an old version
of aptitude. Was this system originally installed as etch or sarge?

It should install build dependencies for fam package as it worked in the past.

Bug#446159: famd do not send events about file creation/modification

2007-10-10 Thread Vitalie Lazu
Package: fam
Version: 2.7.0-13
Severity: important

I used dirmon.rb script from libfam-ruby to test famd and it does not give
the same results as in etch release.

output from etch server:
--
web1:/usr/share/doc/libfam-ruby/examples# ./dirmon.rb /tmp/k1/
Commands: ls, q, quit
 File created: Qwasfsd
 File created: werwrqw
 File created: dq31wqe335ds
 File changed: werwrqw
 File changed: werwrqw
-

On my pc i do not receive most events, except EndExists, FileExists.
Etch and testing use the same version of libfam-ruby, so i decided that
there is a bug in famd.

Bug#376951: Problems with Emacs fonts

2007-06-27 Thread Vitalie Lazu
Hi Brice,

Now it works in both cases: for my user after i commented lines added in
.Xresources and for new created user too.

On Monday 25 June 2007 22:28, Brice Goglin wrote:
 Hi Vitalie,

Thanks for your followup to this bug. On your machine where the problem
occurs, could you check that you have xfonts-base installed? And could
you try again after removing all your .emacs* configuration? (checking
with another user account would be good).

If it does not help, please send the output of
 /usr/share/bug/xserver-xorg/script 31

 Cheers,

Bug#376951: Problems with Emacs fonts

2007-06-08 Thread Vitalie Lazu

I have the same problem too.

I upgraded my system from sarge to etch, then i installed emacs, when i
started it s saw little squares instead of letter and in console there is a
warning message:
Warning: Cannot convert string
-*-helvetica-medium-r-*--*-120-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1 to type FontStruct

i fixed it by adding below line to ~/.Xresource
Emacs*Font: -cronyx-fixed-bold-r-normal--16-120-100-100-c-80-koi8-r

$ xrdb -load .Xresource

On my laptop emacs was already installed when i migrated to etch and all it
was ok.

Bug#385288: libapache2-svn sometimes create db logs owned by root

2006-08-30 Thread Vitalie Lazu
Package: libapache2-svn
Version: 1.1.4-2
Severity: important

We host a lot of repositories at www.assembla.com, sometimes we have
problems because in db/ directory of svn repository appears log files owned by
root,
apache run as www-data user and it can not serve that repository
anymore.

We had manualy to chown files and run svnadmin recover to that
repository. It happens at least twice per week with 30 active svn repositories.

it's not the case, maybe it works on i386, but i had problems with amd64.

BTW, all public mirrors that i could find for amd64/etch(US - arizona and ftp.es.debian.org) are broken somehow.

Thanks for your time.
