Bug#876704: (no subject)

2017-09-25 Thread Wendigo

Hi Lizandro!

Yes i will move to QT 5. I was just following VoidRealms tutorial in
YouTube (great tutorial, I'm learning the basics). I haven't found a
similar tutorial for QT 5. Guess I'll move to QT 5 in a couple of
months after I finish with the examples in the channel.

Thanks!

Bug#876704: qt4-demos: QML examples in qt4-demos fail to run, /qmlapplicationviewer in wrong location

2017-09-24 Thread Wendigo
Package: qt4-demos
Version: 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Open a qt4 QML demo in QT creator (notably the Dial Control but happens with
other examples too)
fails with tne message:
Could not copy file "/usr/share/qt4/doc/html/helper/qmlapplicationviewer" to
 "/home/user/dialcontrol/qmlapplicationviewer"

The real location of the requested directory and files is:
/usr/lib/qt4/demos/helper/qmlappicationviewer

Clearly the above location must be changed.
Copying the directory with to:
/home/user/dialcontrol/
Solves the main problem. But the example won't run either unless you change in
main.cpp
the line:
viewer.setMainQmlFile(QLatin1String("/qml/dialcontrol/dialcontrol.qml"));

to:

viewer.setMainQmlFile(QLatin1String("/dialcontrol/qml/dialcontrol/dialcontrol.qml"));

Very frustrating for someone who is trying to learn qt.
I have no idea if the same happens with qt5-demos

Dear Maintainer,

In you install Kodi 16.1 from backports music visualizations don't work
anymore.
I think in others distros you're supposed now to install a visualizations
package.
There is no visualizations package in backports.
Cheers

Bug#784850: samba: Samba doesn't get printer list from cups

2015-05-09 Thread Wendigo
Package: samba
Version: 2:4.1.17+dfsg-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

In a fresh Debian Jessie setup running with the KDE desktop.

CUPS recognises and prints to remote printers attached to Windows 7 machines.
CUPS recognises and prints to printer connected directly to the Jessie server

SAMBA can share and read files from Windows 7 machines.

The printer connected to Debian appears as shared in the CUPS web interface and
Windows 7 clients can print directly to CUPS using IPP and the printer address:

http://harpia:631/printers/Stylus-COLOR-777

But Samba doesn't show the printer connected to Debian Jessie as available.
Using smbtree -U. doesn't show the printer in Debian as available and people
coming
with their laptops can't see the printer in Windows.

It seems that Samba can't connect to CUPS to get the list of available printers
in the
Debian server.
It can also be a problem in CUPS but since it can share the printer directly to
Windows using
IPP it seems to me that the problem is with samba.

The setup and the same smb.conf worked perfectly in Debian Squeeze, the same
problem
happened in Wheezy and happens now in Jessie.

Here is the smb.conf file
testparm shows it as correct.

--

[global]
workgroup = KAMEHOUSE
netbios name = HARPIA
security = user
map to guest = Bad User
printcap name = cups
disable spoolss = Yes
show add printer wizard = No
printing = cups
name resolve order = bcast host wins lmhosts
load printers = yes

[data]
comment = data1
path = /media/ntfs/share
read only = Yes
guest ok = Yes

[media]
path = /media/deposito/Media
read only = Yes
guest ok = Yes

[printers]
comment = Printer in Linux
path = /var/spool/samba
guest ok = Yes
printable = Yes
use client driver = Yes
browseable = Yes

--

Note: If I add this to smb.conf

[Stylus-COLOR-777]
comment=Local printer
printer=Stylus-COLOR-777
path=/var/spool/samba/
printing=cups
printcap name=cups
printable=yes
use client driver=yes
guest ok=yes
writable=no

then the printer is shown as available to smbtree -U and Windows 7 clients
but trying to add the printer shows
Windows couldn't connect to the printer
Error 0x002e in Windows

It doesn't even let you choose the printer model or driver. So it seems that
samba is showing the printer name but is not communicating with cups or getting
the list of printers from CUPS.

Thanks

Bug#413077: kcontrol: printer drivers do not appear in the control panel add printer wizard

2007-03-01 Thread wendigo
Package: kcontrol
Version: 4:3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6
Severity: important

When you try to add a printer using the add printer wizard in the kde
control panel the driver list is empty. There are no drivers to select.
Gutenprint drivers are installed. The drivers appear if you use the cups
web interface. This is a fresh install of Etch made today in a new
machine. Weird since I didn't have this problem in my previous Etch
machine.

Bug#410265: sane seems to freeze, warmup too long in an Epson Perfection 1260 scanner

2007-02-08 Thread wendigo
Package: sane
Severity: important

If sane is used in an Epson Perfection 1260 scanner it seems to hang
forever...actually it may start scanning after SOME MINUTES. The problem
is the lines that says:

warmup-time
-1

in the /home/user/.sane/xsane/Epson:Perfection1260_Photo.drc file

The -1 indicates sane to use the default warmup time that seems to be
T long for the Perfection 1260

If they are changed to:

warmup-time
4

Or another similar value, the problem will be solved.
Some other programs like Kooka on KDE read this information from the
file /etc/sane.d/plustek.conf in the line that says:

option warmup -1

This must be changed to

option warmup 4

There problem solved, but this should be default setting for the
aforementioned scanner.
Same thing happens in Sarge but wasn't able to figure out that at the
time arggg.

Bug#345066: In Christmas xine-ui configuration returns to default.

2005-12-28 Thread wendigo
Package: xine-ui
Version: 0.99.3-1
Severity: normal

On Christmas xine-ui configuration changed to its default: It displays
the default skin (xinetic) and a Christmas splash screen, volume is
turned dowm completely. It happens to all users so I guess it is a
hidden 'feature', but its annoying as hell because even if you change
everything (skins, volume, turn off splash) the same thing happens everytime
you use the program again. Besides that if you use kaffeine after xine-ui the
PCM volume is turned down too.
